Gladnis Week 2018!

Hello there!!!

The lovely people over at @gladnisweek gave me permission to set things in motion for a Gladnis Week 2018!

I’m very excited to be running this fan week to celebrate my favourite pairing from this fantastic fandom!

Right now, I don’t have a definitive date set, although August is looking good, gives enough time for prompts and creating to happen.

Basically I’m just putting out feelers, letting you know this is happening and to drive an interest. Over the next couple of days I’ll work out a timeline for prompt submissions, prompt voting, and such like. But in the mean time feel free to shoot me an ask here, chat with me @xxphoenixdownxx or discord me at Phoenix Down#7283, if you have any suggestions, questions or concerns. BEST WEEKEND EVER! 

I went home for the weekend and they told me a parcel had arrived a few days back. It’s the prize from @gladnisweek huhuhu thanks so much for this! I’ll treasure the doujin! I was supposed to make more panels but Tumblr only allows 10 images. Needless to say I managed to squeeze everything into enough panels. Till next gladnis week! Here’s to more chocobros love!!

A Foul Recipeh

Drabble in response to the prompt posted by @gladnisweek, “ Ignis is experimenting with a new recipe, Gladio offers to taste test it and for once it’s absolutely awful.”  

Ignis had been cooking for hours, and their apartment smelled fucking fantastic. Gladio could hardly contain his excitement, and he annoyed his lover at frequent intervals as he kept invading the kitchen, trying to sneak a taste.

The most recent time, Ignis had whacked Gladio’s large hand with his wooden spoon, his grip on the implement shifting to one akin to the way he held his daggers. “Gladiolus, I love you with all my heart, but interrupt me again…”

How was it that an unfinished threat was so gods-damned effective?

Resigning himself to patience, Gladio killed time on his phone, joining a game of King’s Knight with Prince Charmless and his loyal Chocobo.

When he saw Ignis pad down the hallway, Gladio was on his feet in an instant. The sound of the shower turning on was a whole other temptation, but Gladio persevered. This was his moment. This was his chance.

He crept into the kitchen with surprising silence for a man of his bulk. Gladio saw two pots on the stove. Naturally, he went for the larger one. Lifting the lid, his eyebrows raised in confusion - it was some kind of really weird looking stew, maybe? Gladio thought Ignis typically tossed out the leafy ends of celery and carrots, and was that potato peelings?

No matter. If Ignis was cooking it, it was bound to be amazing.

Gladio picked up that same wooden spoon that had bruised his knuckles and took a taste.

Amber eyes widened in horror, and he very nearly spat the mouthful right back in the pot. Fortunately, he was able to turn in time, spraying the disgusting mixture into the sink instead.

It tasted like the leavings of a Thanksgiving feast, but three days too late. Ugh.

As Gladio was picking a celery leaf out from between two teeth, Ignis walked back into the kitchen, smirking when he saw that the bait had been taken, his trap had been sprung.

“I dunno what you’re making, Iggy,” Gladio’s voice was indignant. “But that’s the worst thing I’ve ever tasted.”

“That, darling,” Ignis drawled as he moved closer, checking on the contents of the smaller pot. “Is that stock-pot I used to boil down the broth for this soup.” One ash blonde brow winged high in amusement as he continued. “You didn’t eat some of that, did you?”

Gladio growled and fled the kitchen to the tune of Ignis’s laughter.

A silly little drabble for @gladnisweek‘s timed quest!

Prompt: Ignis is experimenting with a new recipe, Gladio offers to taste test it and for once it’s absolutely awful.

Gladio wakes up on Monday morning to an empty bed. Ignis has taken the habit of spending his weekends at Gladio’s apartment and making the place unmistakably his in the process, only to completely disappear as the work week begins. Business as usual, really. Ignis is a busy man, after all, far busier than Gladio will ever be, and he considers himself lucky enough that Ignis has agreed to allow him into his schedule at all, so he doesn’t complain, and Ignis makes it up to him on his free time.

Ignis is busy, sure, but not busy enough, it turns out, to forgo making breakfast for his boyfriend before work.

Gladio shakes his head with a chuckle as he grabs the pink smoothie Ignis as left in the fridge for him.

A new recipe he’s trying out, his note says, with a nutritious new blend of fruit, greens, milk and greek yogurt he’s been experimenting with this past week. Gladio pulls the large glass out of the fridge, removes the film covering it and give in a quick stir before swallowing half the thick drink in one gulp, ever so eager to be Ignis’ guinea pig.

Chapter Two : Finding the Right Gift

            As it turns out, 100 gil doesn’t buy much in Insomnia.

Fucking Prompto and his stupid fucking gil limit.

Gladio was incredibly grateful that Prompto at least had the sense to have them pick names a good week and a half in advance. Even if he didn’t, he knew that Ignis would’ve put in his two cents on how they’d all need enough time to shop for their person, knowing full well he was referring especially to Noctis and his pugnacious attitude when it came to something like this (Gladio knew the kid was kind-hearted and all, but he wasn’t exactly the type to get things done on time if it weren’t for Ignis and himself always riding his ass). Either way, Gladio needed all the time he could get between now and the day of the gift exchange to seek out and purchase the best present for Ignis that fell within their stated budget.

*slides in* Wheeee! It’s still Day 7 over here in PST and our final prompts(from the poll) were A Wedding and A Carnival. So @nomadsky decided to mix it up and do a wedding at a carnival! Our boys get hitched at the Choco Mog Festival, but just like ten years before, the road to Altissia not an easy one. Go check it out!

As Gladio knocks at Ignis’ apartment door for a late night visit, he has no idea that the man on the other side is slowly losing control over his need to feed and his will to hold himself back.

My last entry for @gladnisweek! It’s been a really fun week and I’m so impressed by the amount of talent I’ve seen in both art and writing. You guys are all so amazing!
