I don’t get why everyone here says Kate doesn’t work as much as Meg. DoC has done 2011 (34), 2012(111), 2013*(44), 2014 (91), 2015*(62), 2016 (140), 2017 (105), 2018 (87), 2019 (116). DoS: 2018 (45 ), 2019* (83). The Astrix represent a birth. If anything, Kate has done more work her second year as a royal. The narrative DoC is lazy, is also a form of bullying you want M to be free of. If people want DoC stans to be nicer to M, same fairness should be extended to DoC. Otherwise, there is no peace

You do realize that Meghan was literally held back from working as to not outshine the Cambridge's, right? In her first year as a royal, she took on two incredibly successful royal tours, she launched the Hubb Kitchen cookbook and came up with the wildly successful Smart Set collection among other things, of which only counted for about 2 engagements. Then they asked her to take it easy because she was doing too much.

Kate is lazy. Full stop. Her total tallys included arriving at an airport and taking individual five 2 minute phone calls in a single afternoon as individual engagements to pump up her numbers. Calling out someone for being lazy is not bullying and calling it that is why people don't take real bullying as seriously as they should.

Let's stop with the re-writing of history as it relates to Kate and put the blame solely where it belongs. The exact same media, royal rodents, etc. who have miraculously elevated Kant (and Kannot) to sainthood (NEVER put a foot wrong comes to mind) are the same establishment and people who actually named her Waity Katy and wrote endless articles about their laziness especially in comparison to HMTQ and all the older senior royals whose engagement number and work ethics ran (still run) circles around the younger FF King and Queen Consort. So stop with the blame game and face the fact that the mere arrival of Meghan, DoS simply put their laziness on a global stage for all to see and witness.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have told the editors of British tabloid newspapers that they will never again deal with their outlets, in an unprecedented direct attack on a large part of the media that leaves little chance of repairing the relationship.

On Sunday night Prince Harry and Meghan sent a letter to the editors of the Sun, Daily Mail, Mirror and Express saying that from now on they would not respond to any inquiries from journalists working for the outlets. Instead there will be a policy of “zero engagement”, except when necessary through the couple’s lawyers.

In a strongly worded attack, the duke and duchess said they refused to “offer themselves up as currency for an economy of clickbait and distortion” and accused the outlets of running stories that are “distorted, false, or invasive beyond reason”.

The move is designed to signal to the wider public not to trust any of the reporting about the couple carried by British tabloids.

It comes as Meghan prepares to take on the Mail on Sunday in a court case over its decision to print a letter she sent to her estranged father, with a virtual hearing scheduled to take place on Friday.

In the letter Harry and Meghan tell the editors that they believe a free press is a cornerstone to any democracy that can “shine light on dark places, telling stories that would otherwise go untold, standing up for what’s right, challenging power, and holding those who abuse the system to account”.

The message from their representatives says: “It is gravely concerning that an influential slice of the media, over many years, has sought to insulate themselves from taking accountability for what they say or print – even when they know it to be distorted, false, or invasive beyond reason. When power is enjoyed without responsibility, the trust we all place in this much-needed industry is degraded.

“There is a real human cost to this way of doing business and it affects every corner of society. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have watched people they know – as well as complete strangers – have their lives completely pulled apart for no good reason, other than the fact that salacious gossip boosts advertising revenue.”

Addressing the editors directly, the letter continues: “With that said, please note that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not be engaging with your outlet. There will be no corroboration and zero engagement. This is also a policy being instated for their communications team, in order to protect that team from the side of the industry that readers never see.

“This policy is not about avoiding criticism. It’s not about shutting down public conversation or censoring accurate reporting. Media have every right to report on and indeed have an opinion on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, good or bad. But it can’t be based on a lie.”

The couple’s representatives said they are happy to engage with other outlets, especially grassroots and new media outlets, “to spotlight issues and causes that so desperately need acknowledging … What they won’t do is offer themselves up as currency for an economy of clickbait and distortion.”

The couple’s total ban on dealing with the British tabloid media also applies to the Sunday editions of the newspapers and their associated websites. Harry and Meghan have previously made clear that they particularly object to the way stories from British newspapers about the couple are carried around the world, especially by the Daily Mail’s sister publication MailOnline – which has an enormous audience in the US – and its columnist Piers Morgan.

The pair recently relocated to California after quitting their formal royal roles, after a stay in Canada. Their relocation to North America was first revealed by the Sun at the start of the year, in a story that is thought to have angered the couple.

After losing their taxpayer-funded royal office their communications strategy will now be led by the US business Sunshine Sachs, which normally handles film and television stars, with only a single representative based in the UK. This will allow them to adopt image management techniques practiced by modern celebrities, communicating directly with the public through social media and carefully choosing selected outlets.

Harry’s separate legal claims against the parent companies of both the Sun and the Mirror for alleged historical phone hacking cases are also ongoing.

Longstanding royal correspondents have previously told the Guardian that the Duke of Sussex, whose mother, Princess Diana, was fatally injured in a car crash while being chased by paparazzi, has had an increasingly antagonistic relationship with the media. On one royal tour he told journalists covering it: “Thanks for coming, even though you weren’t invited.”

Tyrone and DeShawn talkin bout Barry after that Medal of Honor Ceremony-

Tyrone: But wasn’t he on sabbatical in Russia or sumthin just 2 years ago?

DeShawn: Capt Singh said he was in the Czech Republic all those months

Tyrone: He came back for a minute and then got locked up for murder right?

DeShawn: Yeah you right - I was there when we arrested him-

Tyrone: The mayor wouldn’t let him back on the force for months after he got let out

DeShawn: Nobody would even talk to him-

Tyrone: He’s been gone more than he’s been here. Remember that time he was in a coma for almost a year? when he came back he started disappearing for hours at a time - nobody able to find him

DeShawn: man-

Tyrone: and last year he was hanging with that “csi intern” who looks just like him and his fine a$$ wife. sumthin wasn’t right there- they had to be related-

DeShawn: His wife is fine

Tyrone: Now Capt father-in-law gives him a medal of honor

DeShawn:

I love Barry but it’s hard to believe his co-workers don’t think he’s shady. They don’t know he’s the flash and we hardly ever see him working with any of them-

Hilarious!

Meghan is not trying to control the media, Harry is not playing the victim, neither of them are trying to force a Narrative here.

There is a huuuuuge difference between negative press or criticism and direct lies. Majority of Meghan's press has been lies, with a racist/elitist/nasty spin on them.

They are not characters in "journalists" stories, they are real people. And regardless of them being Royal or not, that doesn't excuse this behaviour. Legally it's not right, and morally it's not either. People have the right to speak and to have an opinion sure, but the second they push their opinion as truth as "public interest", lines are blurred.

Reporting in the media in public interest should be in spoken facts, not fiction. Fact. That should be a no brainer obvious.

On 10 October 1871, Election Day, 32-year-old civil rights pioneer, Octavius Catto was shot down and killed in the streets of Philadelphia on his way to vote.

Catto had joined Frederick Douglass to encourage black men to become soldiers during the Civil War (eventually raising 11 regiments), desegregating Philadelphia’s trolley cars (he refused to give up his seat on an all-white car), and worked to get the 15th Amendment ratified.

While Catto carried a pistol for protection after numerous incidents of harassment, there is no evidence that he pulled his gun or fired it, after he was shot 3 times. The man who shot him was not convicted of murder, or even of assault.
