White people: if you want to help long term: get used to being told your opinion is wrong, irrelevant, or unwanted. Tell your friends to get used to it. Work on getting used to it and do this work with other white people. Because white supremacy has all of y’all very used  to being right and being an inherently valued voice and if we’re going to fight white supremacy you’re going to have to be comfortable surrendering that expectation and also white people will need to learn how to handle being rejected or disagreed with. It’s an extension of racism and racial trauma for black people to try and educate or speak up about our issues only to expose ourselves to your white fragility which  makes you defensive– this defensiveness can look like shutting down, silencing us, painting all corrections or disagreements as ‘fighs’ (extending the idea that black people are aggressive) etc.

White resilience is the opposite of white fragility and black people are VERY good at resilience, unfortunately. Listen to us we know how to combat this.

I also think marginalized people should arm themselves with non-lethal weapons for self-defense too like mace, pepper-spray, tasers, taser guns, stun guns, and blinding LED lights. Because if someone’s attacking you, it’s a lot easier on you both mentally and legally to just electrocute someone to the floor rather than ending their life. Not that your attacker wouldn’t deserve it, but it’s very unlikely the law will side with you even if it’s self-defense. Plus, killing is traumatizing.

I do not recommend knives too because they can easily be taken from you, especially if you’re not experienced with them. If you get a gun, make sure to get trained in how to use it so you don’t just hurt yourself or escalate things toothlessly.

i hate hate HATE the impossible beauty standards in the trans community i hate people especially cis people (but even other trans people are guilty of this) sharing pictures of the same conventionally attractive trans models as "proof" that we can look "normal" (read: not only cis-passing but also extremely conventionally attractive) why the fuck do you need trans people to be supermodels and nothing less for you to respect us. why.

because apparently I have to say it:

Testosterone is not a “violent” hormone. It doesn’t make you “more aggressive” or a worse person, it doesn’t make you “dangerous” or “toxic”.

Transmascs do not need to be “warned of the dangers of T”. We do not need to spend our transitions terrified that we’re going to become a danger to those around us- that HRT is going to turn us into a monster.

Everyone experiences mood swings during hormonal shifts (pregnancy, menstruation, menopause, estrogen HRT, etc.) and while you might have grumpy moments or feel anger/frustration that you need to learn to handle differently, that doesn’t make you a bad person.

Testosterone can change the way you access/process emotions somewhat, but if you’re already thoughtful about how you handle your feelings and treat others, you’re going to be fine. It’s normal to lash out on occasion, by accident, and then apologize & work to do better. It doesn’t make you a bad person. Everyone on HRT is prone to this, and everyone experiencing hormonal changes is prone to this.

Getting HRT should be positive and affirming; you should not have to spend your entire transition terrified of becoming a monster.

this has been on my mind so im gonna write a post to just let it out so i may carry on with my daily duties

if a person (Especially a black person) says that they do not want to vote biden-harris, that isnt an invitation for nonblack ppl to try to convince them to change their mind. yes, trump is a horrid person of power but that does not been biden-harris should be forgiven for what they have done to make millions of lives worse. picking a black female vp means very little when she is a cop that has only done damage to the black community. she has a whole catalog of terrible things she has done to certain communities . biden himself has contributed to the oppression that black communities face today.

what is really striking to me is how nonblack leftists and liberals were all “acab” and “blm” but now they want to “choose the lesser evil” by voting biden-harris. u cannot say all cops are bastards and then vote a cop into office. u cannot say black lives matter and then vote for someone that has only brought pain and suffering to black communities. u cannot say lgbt rights or black trans lives matter and then vote for someone that puts trans women in mens prisons.

there is no lesser evil in politics when theyre all evil.
