i am. so sorry if i have ever used the phrase “i have an au where—” and led you to believe that there is an actual fic out there for you to read rather than, at best, a post where i explain the concept, and at worst it is simply something that lives in my brain

if it helps i also wish there was a fic

but you see her on instagram and it was never really said that you guys aren’t friends but one day she stopped answering and you stopped texting and it’s not like the wound is a cavern but it is a diagram of what if in red letters. you want to tell her nice lipstick that’s a good color but the last time you spoke it was stilted and awkward

how do you say goodbye, you know? it’s not an unfriend and block kind of situation. but you watch the people you once loved go on and have a life and you’re outside of it. and it’s bittersweet because of course it’s okay that you’re both thriving. but she used to be who you’d call if you needed to cry. she used to be who’d you’d be binge watching the new series with. you used to be hers, in a way, even if that way wasn’t permanent. and now she’s someone else and so are you and your friendship is clicking heart shapes next to pictures where she smiles next to people you’ve never met. you know where her birthmark is. she knows where you’ve buried your dead.

the poets and the singers and the authors write about romantic love when it ends. but nobody tells you how to get over a friend.

Paula ( the psychiatrist) from season 5 was perhaps the most unlikable character. She's Harvey's therapist so she knows that the minute Donna left Harvey started getting anxiety, panic attacks, nightmares, etc. She knew he was in love with that woman. Yet she allowed him to date her? It is not abnormal for patients to fall for their therapists. Infact it's perfectly normal and is due to a psychological process called Transference. Transference is a phenomenon in which one seems to direct feelings or desires related to an important person towards their therapists. It doesn't mean Harvey loved her. The truth was that he was down and she was there. All his love for Donna was projected on to that woman. As a psychologist she should have known it. It was her job to do it. Moreover, she's legally not allowed to date her patients. Even if they just stopped going to her. She took advantage Harvey. Not to forget she was just plain annoying to watch on screen.

Darvey was and always will be the only true ship. Donna is the love of Harvey's goddamn life. He's down bad for his woman.

Louis: who’s your girlfriend

Donna: oh I’m not his girlfriend I’m his girl friday

Louis: associate don’t get secretaries

Harvey: I’m not like other associates and she’s not like other secretaries

Louis: bullsh*t

Harvey: Donna?

Donna: okay, listen rain man, you wear lifts in your shoes, you want braces but you don’t have the balls, and you have a cat that you love more than it loves you.

Harvey: good to see you Louis

My therapist just told me my problem is that I need to write more fanfiction.

This sounds fake but the logic behind it is actually really interesting? She said obsession with a new fandom triggers quick dopamine release when we consume all this related content--it's easy and addictive.

What we're NOT getting is that 'slow dopamine' that's more sustainable and engaging. That's the kind we get from DOING things that take effort but are ultimately rewarding.

So like, she suggested that writing fic and making fanart are ways to balance the quick dopamine of watching a show/reading fic with the slow dopamine of working at something that takes effort.

Moral of the story is you should engage in the process of creation around your favorite things. You'll feel better for it.

When you think about it past all the angst and whatnot, Japril as a ship is comedic gold. Started boning because they had test anxiety. Their second time having sex was in a public bathroom and one party later insisted they’re a virgin. Had a pregnancy scare, got engaged, and broke up in the SAME SHIFT at work. The jealousy storyline started because one of them invited the other to go to a wedding with one of their colleagues (against their will). Interrupted a whole ass wedding to run off together and then pretended that they weren’t together for weeks to all of their family and friends despite having eloped. Realized there were consequences to their actions and were just 😡 about it. Got divorced because they have the communication skills of a peanut lying on the floor of a Texas Roadhouse (none). One of them was pregnant and didn’t tell the other for an extremely long time which led to a custody battle that lasted like six episodes before they were peachy again. Oh wait! Now she’s dying in labor! Wait no she’s fine. Let’s move in together! Both of them have feelings for each other which culminates in them sleeping together and they’re literally raising a child together and for all intents and purposes #married but then they get Divorce Number Two and one of them is so distraught they start to date their step sibling. She gets married to dude she left at the altar who is just okay with it because his wife died? Step sibling is more shocked by the fact that he’s clearly still in love with his ex wife than like. The sibling thing. They break up. He goes through some not as serious relationships/situationships. Convinces Dream Wife to Move to Boston where they presumably had inappropriate sex and got back together and then became the only confirmed end game ship on the show. Legendary, those two. No fucking notes except yes fucking notes and Krista Vernoff is getting my therapy bill.
