Hi Bug! Apologies if you've answered this before, but your lineart is just *sublime*. I was wondering what program you use, and if you have any particular/favourite brushes? Your lineart is so wonderfully varied and weighted, I can't stop looking at it! @_@

I work mostly in photoshop, but I'm sure CSP/procreate/etc have similar brushes (if not better honestly lol). My favorite sketch/lineart brush is one I got from me-za-me-ro over a decade ago now; they're selling their brushes in a set if you wanna grab them. i got it back when it was free so im not 100% sure the brush i use is the same as in the pack, but they look similar enough--i think any pencil-textured brush will do the trick so you can probably find similar enough brushes for free or make your own pretty easily!
I found your art randomly and I have fallen into Ark obsession (and just your style in general, it’s so good 👏)
I was curious how Ark’s first transformation went? Was he prepared? I think you said in one of your posts that most people don’t survive the first transformation so was recovery from it like super brutal or did the werewolf healing kick in 🤔

the funny thing is that i am actually in the process of writing/illustrating a thing detailing this very incident! it's gotten way longer than it has any right to be so ive still got some work to do, but i'll answer your question and then put a little preview under the read more lol
Ark's first full moon transformation lasted about 12 hours and he thought he was dying for like 90% of it! Werewolf healing certainly helped him recover faster than human, but it still took over a month to get better, and then ofc the next full moon undid a good chunk of that healing again, so all in all it was likeeee 6-ish months before he really got to heal all the way.
And he was prepared. He knew what was going to happen and had a super powered babysitter (aka Mira, who was with him for the whole thing) and it was still one of the most traumatic nights of his life; he was not "normal" for a loooooong time after it.
To his (unfortunate) credit, his first full moon was somewhat more brutal than normal bc his werewolf form is so fuck off huge. Like. It would have sucked regardless, but turning into something that big definitely did not help!
So, yeah -- the transformation itself sucked and then the recovery sucked just as bad. And when i say "it sucked" i mean he broke bones, cracked ribs, tore muscle, etc etc, so he didn't really leave his house for months. He already had a general aversion to people touching him, but for years after this he still flinches at even the smallest thing :)

I've been doing a new gear design for my partners OC Nick every year for the last couple years but I have apparently never made him a complete, proper reference sheet so...... here's that. This years gear is loosely astronaut inspired :)

I think last years racing gear design is still my favorite but the simplicity of 2022 is probably the cleanest lol

(I started sketching this design nearly immediately after season 2 ended but just now had some time to clean it up so. Excuse me rambling out loud here)
TLDR; I actually really liked the initial design + direction for Warwick-Vander (I <3 human faced werewolves)! But the show design kinda felt like a transitory state between Vander and Warwick to me, so I wanted to try my hand at blending his Arcane design with his in game design. Like a "what would he look like if the transformation kept going" kinda thing. There's a few things I'm not fully settled on, but Im mostly satisfied :)

i added a suggestions tab to the patreon discord so if you've ever wanted to suggest/request things for me to draw, there's now a way to do that! The patreon has also switched to subscription billing (instead of first of the month billing) if that makes a difference to anyone lol
I would like 2025 to be the year I finally start turning those loose outlines into real books so if u would like to support me in that endeavor: the beginning of the month is usually the best time to sign up :’)
GOD I absolutely agree re:werewolf tropes, especially in romance. I want to read so many werewolf books, but So Many play into pack dynamics/violent werewolf bf/etc etc tropes that it feels nigh impossible to find something that will Hit for me specifically. Do you (or anyone who stumbles upon this) have any recs for werewolf media? Particularly that which is outside of romance as the main plot/genre? (Nothing against romance as a whole, I just don't tend to enjoy it when it's the main focus of a story)
god yeah im the exact same, its why i usually end up gravitating more towards horror werewolves cause at least then i dont normally have to worry about weird alpha boyfriend tropes lol. But that means i dont really have too many media recommendations! I'll put a couple thoughts under the read more, but if anyone has any recs, feel free to reply below 🙏

After seeing all your art, I came to the conclusion that you would probably love Wolfsong by TJ Klune. It has werewolves and gay people and angst and blood, and it's funny, and your art style reminds me of the series. Ever heard of it?
no i have not! i used to be a pretty avid reader but ive been so beyond busy the last couple years my backlog has gotten embarrassingly bad lol. but im actually pretty particular about the werewolf stuff i read, especially when it comes to romance, so the synopsis alone doesnt quitttteeeee appeal to me, but ive enjoyed lots of things that i didnt think i would at first glance haha. maybe ill add it to the unfortunate depths of my "to read" pile :')
