the switch from ‘a girl worth fighting for’ to coming upon the decimated village in mulan is THE MOST kick-in-the-teeth mood change IN ALL OF CINEMA

That scene shift did more for our generation’s understanding of the horror of war in ten seconds than Game of Thrones did in eight seasons, and it did it without showing us a single dead body. 

Remember when they subtly but clearly told us a little girl had been murdered?

It’s almost like you actually don’t need to depict graphic murder, rape, and torture to elicit a serious and emotional response from your audience. 

Cinderella getting her dress violently ripped off still gives me chills watching it.

Sun and rain, so different. Yet, only by working together do they create harmony and life.

THERE WAS ONLY ONE CHAIR because presumably, the queen doesn't understand Eric's fascination & servants keep away out of respect for him. So, there's no use having chairs around since nobody hangs out with him here. The implication that he must've felt alone for years until, well, her. They're twin souls. I'm gonna sob in the corner real quick.

This should not be applauded, but that mofo knelt on the floor afternoon 'till evening so she can sit (or not, she might be sitting on a box here) on the only comfortable seat in his library like a fucking gentleman. 

A prince on his knees, literally and figuratively. gddamn it, disney.

OKAY. After my 20th rewatch, I can see that there was another chair--a throne looking one. But, two chairs! See how crazy that is still? There were TWO chairs in the freaking library, but the PINING, DOG-LOVING, STUBBLY, FLUFFY-HAIRED, DIMPLED MF STILL CHOSE TO KNEEL so-

--he can have an excuse to be closer to her....
