Short Prompt #1355

“My Lord! Please! Let us have some time with the human too!” the kobolds cried out in clear want, eyeing their master’s pet.

The dragon laughed, stroking the mewling human beneath him. “So impatient today, my horde! But you know the rules…”

The human moaned wantonly with a skilled roll of Dragon’s hips, tantalizing the kobolds.

“...I get my fill first.”

Found family headcanons:

FYI: THE FC = Found Child (can be any age, mine is a 22 Yr old woman)

FP = Found Parent. Unless specified as FP1 or FP2, can be any Found Parent. Mine tend to both be guys, again, unless stated otherwise.

♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

》 FC gets hurt. The first person They go to is FP1/FP2. They go to one who's in a meeting, then go to the other who's also in a meeting. Says fuck it flips a coin and goes to either of them.

OR

FC gets hurt. Both FP's are in a meeting, so FC sits in pain and tries dealing, until one or both of the FP’s feel like something is wrong, exit their meetings and find their FC in pain, hurt etc then proceed to mother hen over FC.

They make it clear that their FC comes first. No matter how old and adult FC is, no matter how busy FP² are, their kid comes first.

Next time, FC doesn't hesitate. Or maybe or of habit she does. Still. It takes very many tries to get her to finally come to either of them when she's scared or hurt or even unhappy. Because emotional hurt also counts as hurt nonetheless.

♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡》 trope: FC goes missing. FP² search high and low for their kid and find out that via some magic shit or seriously sciency stuff, their FC has ended up in another land/country/world/dimension/universe et - you decide. They proceed to travel there and find FC, with a couple of other men who looks ready to throw hands if FP touches FC (which makes FP scoff internally but also be on high alert themself, in case these men arena threat to their FC) who then pulls the legendary line: tell me something only FP would know.

FP then proceeds to mention smth embarrassing that they promised not to tell anyone. It takes FC a moment of embarrassment to remember that the others are present there, and they cry about how FP promised not to tell anyone! Come on, no-one needs to know how at the age of 14, FC underestimated their own control over stellar magic to the point where they put so much energy and effort into one single formation that ended up knocking themself out and giving themself a concussion!

FP mentions something personal: ie: FC, when falling asleep, before she's completely asleep, has a frown on her face. FP knows this because there was a time when FC asked FP to stay with her after she had a nightmare and she told him about it, then he held her hand as she fell asleep and the hand holding thing became a regular thing.

♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

》FC falls sick. FP noticed before FC noticed herself. FP started making remedies for FC before FC came to FP asking for them (Potions, medicines, other help).

BONUS: FC lessens how to make those meds so she can use it when FP falls sick.

♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

》 FC starts her menstruation by making a mess of her bed sheets, but she's too sick to actually clean it herself. She's throwing up, in absolute agony, etc, and FP² obviously notice a thing or two. Since they're both guys, they figure she doesn't feel comfortable talking about this around them, so they go behind her back to clean the mess to give her one less headache.

She spent the day lying down with a sick bucket next to her head, lying down on the sofa after having adequately prepared (pads/tampons). She wasn't able to sleep at night, so she went on and off with sleep during the day. At some point, an FP sits with her and lets her rest her head on his lap, whilst he works on his tablet on the other side.

She only gets up for a change or to go to the toilet.

She isn't able to eat much, bc of her weak stomach, so they make her light homemade food to eat little by little by also giving her a Sprite, to flatten then drink and help with the stomach ache.

She appreciated it so much but spent the first couple of days just sleeping it off.

♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

》 FC has guy trouble. They can go to FP (non-biological parent) about it.

If FC wants to go out with a guy/meet them outside, but they don't feel 100% comfortable, FP speaks to them and lets them know that the gut feeling often trumps what the heart wants.

If FC wants to and decides to go out with a guy, FP ensures she is safe, by letting her know to text her if anything goes south or even if she just wants to. FP trusts FC enough to let her to put alone, but the conditions they set are: must be in a high street kinda populated area, no dodgy-looking routes to be taken, check in every hour/couple of hrs and to text them a codeword if she doesn't feel up to it, to have an easy out.

FC ends up getting stood up. She does shopping instead and comes home, then cries Into FP's shoulder for an hour straight, whilst FP plots the fucker's death, foe making his daughter cry.

They end up watching films whilst eating microwaved popcorn.

The friend msgs back saying there was A hospital appointment with his mother that he's JUST left and he completely forgot about it, after she msgs him saying it was a bummer not to see him and that of he's not able to make it to a time, it's common courtesy to let the other person know, so they don't waste their time.

FP doesn't buy it, but his kid says that there truly was an ongoing medical issue with the friend's mother so she's willing to give the benefit of the doubt. FP doesn't want his kid to be heartbroken a second time, so he lets her know to be prepared for smth like this if she still wants to meet up with him again.

Unbeknownst to FC, her FP does his research using his resources to see if the excuse was actually true. It checks out, much to FP's disappointment and surprise (disappointment bc he wanted an excuse to make that brat pay for making his kid cry).

Sibling Things #4

---

Cuddling

Sibling A is laying in bed at 3 in the morning, unable to sleep and just mindlessly scrolling through their phone when their bedroom door creaks open. Sibling A glances up at the sound to see Sibling B shamble in, half asleep. They carelessly close the door behind them with a yawn and stumble over to the bed and Sibling A.

Sibling A doesn't say anything, they just scoot over and raise the blanket so Sibling B can slide in beside them. Sibling B immediately wraps their arms around Sibling A's waist with a sleepy grumble and soon, they're snoring loudly and drooling on Sibling A's shoulder. Sibling A only smiles softly and decides that maybe they should try and get some sleep too. They take a moment to set their phone aside before they wrap their arms securely around Sibling B and close their eyes.

My favourite things about found family are:

  1. It starts off with "this kid/person need some help and Person A may not be the most qualified to do it, but A is the only oerson who's willing to do it" OR "this person needs help in xyz and A is the most qualified/only one qualified to assist".
  2. Then, "strictly mentor mentee relationship".
  3. Then "crap, they got hurt on my watch! It's my fault it's my faultitsmyfault- never mind, false alarm. Pfft, yeah I'm great at this"
  4. Eventually, unlock sad backstory or a trauma story and "shit dude, I'm sorry you had to go through that. I may not be able to do much about your past, but you can be damn well sure that nothing like that wil happen to you on my watch" (BONUS POINTS if they actually get to go through with this!!!)
  5. Then the found child gets hurt. Ensue found parent's helicopter parenting. Or just being low-key worried at the face of it but internally freaking out and overthinking their overthought thoughts, etc.
  6. Next thing you know, family movie night is on and you'd better come.
  7. "There's enough pizza to go around. Oh, there isn't? No problem, I wanted a late night McDonald's anyway" ;)
  8. "It's late. Why haven't you gone to sleep yet?"
  9. Adding to the above: "do you want/need me to stay until you fall asleep/ Can I stay for a while, maybe until you fall asleep?"
  10. (It becomes a regular thing).
  11. "Are you comfortable with this? It's okay if you aren't, we'll find another way, but your comfort is of utmost importance." (Bonus points if the asker senses the other is still not comfortable despite their verbal assurances and pulls out of whatever is being done/contemplated).
  12. "HA! Look at that idiot, what a doofus- FUCK, THAT'S MY KID! WHAT THE FUCK ARE THEY DOING THERE‽"
  13. Proud parent smile when the kiddo does a move they've been practicing for a while/a special move they were previously unable to get. (BONUS: KID SEES THE PROUD LOOK).

Tldr: one minute, some dude/dudette helped this one kiddo, next minute they're a mum/dad and instead of complaining, or arguing that's not the case they just accept it and get a #WORLDBESTPARENT mug/tshirt

Classic tropes/prompts in parental stories <3

  • The kid wakes up in the middle of the night because of nightmares and is too scared to sleep by themselves, so they sneak into their parental figure's bedroom, begging them to sleep together
  • Hide and Seek
  • Parental figure carrying the kid piggyback
  • Tickle fights! (no need for explanations, that's just adorable qwq)
  • Kid falls asleep somewhere and the caretaker finds them, bringing them to their bed
  • Caretaker and the child fall asleep on the couch together while watching a movie <3
  • Caretaker takes the kid to a fair, playground, restaurant or shopping, just spending the day and having fun together
  • Winter! (picture snowball fights, sleighing, buliding a snowman, hot chocolate, baking cookies, Christmas presents)
  • On a cold winter day Caretaker notices that the child is freezing so they draw a gentle smile and say: "Come here", pulling them under their coat to warm them up
  • Caretaker gives the kid their clothes, which are waaay too large for them so they are sitting there in a oversized sweater and Caretaker rolls up their sleeves
  • (and for a bit o' whump :D) Child gets injured/sick and the caretaker has to tend to their wounds or nurse them back to health
  • Stargazing together or catching some fireflies (I have a soft spot for that one <3)
  • Or just both of them cuddling under a blanket in front of the fireplace while rain and thunder is rumbling outside :3

Anonymous asked:

Hi there! Do you think you can do some found family dialogue prompts? Either big sister x little sister or father x daughter! Thx sm!

Hi there :)

I love found family, but I always find it hard to come up with prompts for that, because the whole trope builds so much on context and longer stories that little sentences never really convey the found family part. But I'll try :)

Found Family Dialogue

Siblings Situation

  • "Hey, I'm the only one who's allowed to annoy you."
  • "Urgh, you're truly the sibling I never wanted."
  • "You're my sister and you always will be."
  • "Wow, listen to us. We really sound like siblings now."
  • "You are the best big sister that I never knew I needed."

Father/Child Situation

  • "I'm happy that you feel safe with me."
  • "Let them say that we're not actual family. We know it best."
  • "I will always be here for you. Nothing will change that."
  • "I wouldn't ever let anyone take you away from me. And I will never make you leave."
  • "You're basically already a dad. My dad."
  • "Does that mean I can annoy you with dad jokes now?"

Have fun with the prompts!

Poisons

Hello! I'm gonna share how I go about writing poisons and the things I think are helpful to keep in mind. Now, I have never actually poisoned someone - shocker - but I have done extensive research on the topic, so I would say I know a decent amount about how to effectively poison someone. Disclaimer: This is for writing purposes only, don't poison people. Thanks.

Keep In Mind:

  • Poisoners need little to no physical strength although they do need a strong sense of self control & nerves of steel. Shooting or stabbing someone takes a mere moment of consideration and is frequently the result of  a split second decision, while position requires dedication. Many poisons require a certain amount of time to work and the poisoner usually must administer several doses of poison in order to work. The poisoner also usually must be within close proximity to their victim and often will have to look them in the eye and engage with the person while the person slowly dies.
  • Exotic poisons can be more trouble than they’re worth. Importing exotic poisons leaves a trail for authorities to follow, and they require more research to correctly use.
  • Smart poisoners work with what they’ve got. The clever killer looks for drugs that are already in the victim’s medicine cabinet and that could be deadly. Read medical warning labels to get an idea of how to use them.
  • Poison can be used in ways that aren’t deadly. If the goal isn’t death, you can render someone dizzy or dopey, making a character vulnerable to a bad influence.

Common Poisons

  • Hemlock: Poison hemlock comes from a large fern-like plant that bears a dangerous resemblance to the carrot plant. It was readily available for treating muscle spasms, ulcers, and swelling, but in large doses will cause paralysis and ultimately respiratory failure.
  • Mandrake: It was used as a sedative, hallucinogen and aphrodisiac. Superstition mediaeval denizens believes when the vaguely human-shaped root was pulled out that plant gave a piercing shriek that would drive anyone to madness or death - hence the harry potter scene.
  • Arsenic: Arsenic comes from a metalloid and not a plant, unlike the others but it’s easily the most famous and is still used today. instead of being distilled from a plant, chunks of arsenic and dug up or mined. It was once used as a treatment for STDs , and also for pest control and blacksmiths, which was how many poisoners got access to it. It was popular in the Renaissance since it looked similar to malaria death, due to acute symptoms including stomach cramps, confusion, convulsions, vomiting and death. Slow poisoning looked more like a heart attack.
  • Nightshade: A single leaf or a few berries could cause hallucinations - a few more was a lethal dose. Mediaeval women used the juice of the berries to colour their cheeks, they would even put a few drops on their eyes to cause the pupils to dilate for a lovestruck look which is why Nightshade is also called ‘Belladonna’ or “Beautiful woman.” The symptoms include dilated pupils, sensitivity to light, blurred vision, tachycardia, loss of balance, staggering, headache, rash, flushing, severely dry mouth and throat, slurred speech, urinary retention, constipation, confusion, hallucinations, delirium and convulsions.
  • Aconite: This toxic plant, also called Monkshood or Wolfsbane, was used by indigenous tribes around the world as arrow poison. The root is the most potent for distillation. Marked symptoms may appear almost immediately, usually not later than one hour, and with large doses death is near instantaneous. The initial signs are gastrointestinal including nausea, and vomiting. This is followed by a sensation of burning, tingling, and numbness in the mouth and face, and of burning in the abdomen. In severe poisonings pronounced motor weakness occurs and sensations of tingling and numbness spread to the limbs. The plant should be handled with gloves, as the poison can seep into the skin.

If someones poisoning another:

  • The character should analyse the daily life of the target well before attempting to poison them. Note what sort of medicines they take, at what moments they are most vulnerable, how attentive they are to their surroundings, and so on.
  • Choose a poison that suits your needs. You need to be as discreet as possible and not arouse suspicion. Too dramatic and people will know something is up. Choose poisons that are easy to slip into meals/don't have to be administered constantly, or you could simply frame it as an overdose by using the target's own medicines.
  • Think of how you want to administer the poison. Some take effect through touch while some require being swallowed. Based on that, come up with a plan to poison your target.
  • Make sure everything corresponds with the plot and characters, and nothing becomes a plot hole. Don't have a typically nervous character be perfectly calm when thinking of poisoning. Don't poison someone just for the sake of it. Have everything tie back to the plot, your characters rarely should be poisonings someone just for the "cool" effect. Trust me, it doesn't actually have that effect and just comes off like lazy writing. Have your characters act in accordance with their personalities.
  • Research time periods and history when choosing poisons. Not all poisons were popular during the same time periods, and not all of them are native to the same geographical areas.

prompts for denial of feelings or refusal to accept that they like someone?

I've got some other prompts that you might like Here.

Denial of Romantic Feelings Prompts

-> feel free to edit and adjust pronouns as you see fit.

  • She couldn't be in love with him.
  • The very idea that he might be in love made his stomach twist with anxiety.
  • No, no, no. This could not be happening. They could not, would not, ever, be in love with her.
  • He wasn't in love. Couldn't be. But nothing else could explain the blush that would creep across his cheeks anytime they caught him staring.
  • She could scream. She could rip her hair out. She could lie face down on the floor and cry. She was in love.
  • Their friends would tease them constantly about their crush on [Name]. But it wasn't a crush. They were not-- and will not ever be-- in love with [Name].
  • "Are you in love?" "Absolutely not."
  • He didn't have time to be in love. No matter how he felt, it just couldn't happen.

As a black creator one of the most harrowing realisations you come to is that BIPOC solidarity is mostly a myth. Anti-blackness has its grip wound so tight in not only white communities but non-white ones too and they can be just as vicious, if not more, when it comes to racially abusing us because it comes packaged with an additional layer of resentment and envy for our supposed hypervisibility.

I, unfortunately, was forced to encounter such aggression in the middle of Black History Month a week before my birthday targeted towards tarnishing my writing career and smearing my name with industry colleagues. I was fortunate in this instance that the libellous accusations against me were not wholeheartedly believed but I am concerned that the individual in question will not stop there.

I please ask if you receive suspicious messages from someone libelling me or see it out in the wild that you exercise the necessary caution and offer me the benefit of the doubt. My DMs are open with proof to dispel these myths and I am more than happy to share them.

I am greatly saddened to have been attacked in this manner but unfortunately know it comes with the territory of being a black woman in this world.

To those of you reblogging this post, spreading awareness and sharing your sympathies I thank you and appreciate it. You might be wondering why I don't name this person outright outside of private channels and, as someone who has always felt frustration with the opacity in the publishing industry, I want to be transparent about at least this: this person is abusive.

Her pattern of behaviour and the extent of it mirrors that of other abusive personalities I've had to deal with in my personal life. Knowing this, naming her in public and "airing dirty laundry" will only incite more retaliative behaviour from her and offer her proof to continue her DARVO routine of trying to paint me as the malignant party.

That this behaviour had been going on for months with me blissfully unaware, I would very much like to return to a state of ignorance, but I had to defend my name and reputation from defamation among industry peers and professionals. I hope you can understand that.

WE WILL DEVOUR THE NIGHT 🌙 EXCERPT

Darius Calantis was not something one simply overcame. Being the object of his fixation was like sailing a tidal wave of extremes—euphoric, comforting, uplifting, terrifying. It had given her something she’d never before thought possible. The safety of an affection that endured through her faults, rather than in spite of them. Of there being no distance she could throw him that he wouldn’t return from.

First you line 'em up. Then you knock 'em down. 😈

All around you, people were screaming.

In terror they fled or cowered, desperately trying to put distance between themselves and Them. For a moment all you could do was stand frozen, eyes wide and heart pounding rapidly in your chest, not quite sure if what you were seeing was real. It was only when someone who was fleeing jostled your shoulder as they passed, that you finally snapped out of it. Without a single moments extra hesitation, you ran.

Your feet pounded against the ground, eating up the distance rapidly thanks to your adrenaline, your eyes wide and desperate as you remained intently focused on your goal.

You could feel the exact moment their gaze landed on you, your heart skipping a beat, even as your feet continued to move. All at once their hellfire eyes seemed to glow brighter, lips pulling into a devilish grin as you put on one last burst of speed, heart beating to a frantic tune.

They had just enough time to open their arms up wide, before you slammed into them, their rich chuckle sounding like music to your ears as they embraced you tenderly, careful not to harm you with their impossible strength. You all but melted into their embrace, taking in their scent as the screams faded from your mind.

It was only in their arms that you felt at home.

I’m glad you liked it, Darling 🖤

Every night for the past three months, you’ve dreamt of the same dream. You sit before death, in a lavish room, drink in hand and the fireplace burning with a warm glow, as the two of you converse about things of little importance. You’re strangely never frightened, something about them feeling familiar, and Death always seems to speak to you so fondly, voice gentle and affectionate. As the dream nears its end, Death always sighs, setting down their cup before speaking.

“You will wake now, Little Death. Until next time”

Each time, you wake directly after. Sometimes, with the taste of your drink still on your tongue.

This dream is different. As the time nears to wake, Death pauses, reaching into their billowing robes and removing a beautiful pendant, an otherworldly glow, surrounding it. Gently, the ageless being hands you the necklace, carefully closing your hands around it.

“You shall need this, Little Death. Take care.” They said, voice low and warm.

As you find yourself pulled into the waking world, your attention is drawn towards your hand, and the strange warm hum you feel moving up your arm steadily. Sitting in your palm, is the strange necklace, the surface seeming to slowly and endlessly swirl.

YOOOO THIS IS SOME GOOD SHIT RIGHT HERE
