instead of sleeping last night i started writing a poem about the ongoing genocide in palestine, but it feels... wrong. i feel like its my responsibility as a person with a platform to speak out against the horrific crimes israel has & is continuing to commit, & i will, but im just a person. im just a poet. the only useful tools i have are my words, & they dont feel enough. i dont have the funds, i dont have the influence to make an actual change, all i can offer is art. which, dont get me wrong, is needed now more than ever, but it feels cheap. i dont know. i dont know

the gofundmes for helping people get out of Palestine fill me with rage because AT BEST what we're doing is helping people be displaced in the safest way available to them that is the most profitable to a) corrupt Egyptian officials and b) gofundme itself. I'm so fucking furious that this is what it's come to. the world has failed to stop the Zionist genocide machine so profoundly that donating to gofundmes that will ultimately line the pockets of corrupt officials and technocrats is the most effective way to save the lives of Palestinians.
