This is new. Obviously. Charlotte have met other mutants but never like him “Shadow Realm..” she repeats “Do you stay in the Shadow Realm quite often?” She asked “It feels different here, almost as if I’m underwater.” She admits while following him.
“Érik.. nice to meet you. I’m Charlotte, you can call me Lottie or Charlotte.. either or.” Charlotte continued to look around “Is there a place I can sleep? And eat?” She asked rather shyly.
“Érik, how did you find me?” Charlotte moved a bit quick to match his steps “I never thought I would be saved.. I assumed I would always be back there. And I’m really really thankful that you found me..”
“Kind of?” Érik admitted. “I jump between here and our Earth a lot. Not too many people know about this place... As far as I know anyways. Otherwise I would’ve met some of them by now.”
The underwater description was a new one, but most people felt weird here, being that this wasn’t exactly where people belonged. People other than him anyways. The Shadow Realm had an odd comfort to him... As if he had known this place his whole life.
“Lottie it is then,” the umbrakinetic chuckled. “There’s a place on the other side for us to rest at, once we get there. As for how I found you, well... Rescuing mutants has kind of been my thing for a while. I found out about you when I raided a different lab.”

She understood now, who he is and just like her, he’s different.
They stepped into the shadows and it was then that her surroundings began to feel different, her hand squeezes his tightly as the traveled. Until they were somewhere else, not the facility she was in.
Her legs buckled beneath her and soon enough she meets the ground, disoriented “Oh, you weren’t kidding.” She says as she breaths heavy “Give me a second.” Her body felt like it was underwater for a moment, she hated feeling weak like this, hated feeling powerless after every experiment.
Finally when she feels better she stands from her spot and follows, each step feeling her own abilities come back to her “Where are we?” She asked in awe “Is it a castle?”
She did well for her first teleportation, Érik had to admit. He’s had his fair share of seeing some people get really sick from this. Not their fault really - most people will never see a parallel dimension, never mind enter one. As soon as Charlotte fell though, he immediately crouched down, ready to help her up if she wanted a hand. When she seemed fine though, he began to lead the way.
“I call this place the Shadow Realm. It kind of mirrors our world. The place that’s keeping you trapped on Earth for example is this castle - exact same layout, just different look. This is how I’m able to teleport. Time moves differently around here, so minutes in here is just a few seconds back home.”
Not the easiest concept to grasp - it sure took Érik a long while to figure it out himself, especially when there was a time where just coming here by himself nearly made him pass out.
“I’m Érik, by the way.”

She haven’t seen him, or perhaps she was just too exhausted to notice.
Charlotte looked at him as he worked in the cage “The cage inside is quiet but the experiment have me so wiped out that they know I won’t be able to do a thing.” She says. Once he opens the door the alarm goes off and soon his hand was extended to her and she reached up to place her hand within in. “Yes.” She replied before crawling out from the cage.
“I wish I could help but I’m just so exhausted..”
Érik’s jaw clenched at the mention of experimenting, but he said nothing otherwise. She wouldn’t have to worry about that anymore anyways.
“Don’t worry about helping - I can do all the heavy lifting,” the umbrakinetic assured her, gently holding onto her hand. “Just a warning though, you might feel a little disoriented.”
Standing up, Érik then guided Charlotte over to the shadows. For a moment, it felt like they were on an elevator as they approached the door. However, the place clearly looked different... More decrepit, like an old castle in the process of being taken over by nature.
“We’re safe here... For the most part,” he assured her. “Come on, follow me.”

“Are you here to help me?”
Delirium? Probably. Either that or this room was so dark to her that she didn’t see him step out of the shadows, literally.
“Yeah,” he murmured, quickly working away at the lock. “I would’ve stepped in there with you, but I wasn’t sure if the cage had any inhibitors set up in it or not. Plus, it looked like a tight fit for us anyways.”
Opening the cage door set the alarms off, as he expected. Good thing he had a fool-proof escape plan.
“Do you trust me?” Érik asked, extending a hand towards Charlotte.

hey so, i’m now officially gonna make a slow return onto here - it’s been well over a month, and frankly i missed being on here. i guess i should give a lil update on my life for those who care, but i’ll get the rp parts outta the way first and put the rest under read more.
TL;DR, other than the starters people have written for me that i’ve yet to reply to, i’m dropping all my threads. i just really need a fresh start right now, and given that i’m going into a Master’s degree that’s in the English department, i’m not sure how well i’m going to be able to keep up with my more plot-heavy threads. i hope people see this as an opportunity to throw new ideas at me, and i hope to interact with some of the people who’ve recently followed me, so i feel like starting anew is the best way to go about it.
for those who’ve left me asks, i’ll do my best to work through them. i may have to delete some, especially if they’re in reference to things that happened while i was gone, so please don’t take it personally. i’m just trying to take things at my own pace and time. i hope you all understand.
now, onto where the fuck i’ve been this past month and a bit.
