actually, growing up is feeling like i turned sixteen two days ago. i’ve been eighteen for years. fifteen year olds seem so young. wasn’t i fifteen just a few weeks ago? all my friends and i are still twelve. i’m closer to thirty than to being a baby. i never got to be a kid. i never grew past eight. i can’t talk to my mom. i want to sit in her lap forever. i want to decide everything for myself. i need someone to tell me exactly what to do. the week is going by so slow. an entire year has passed.

SO,

- jon being revealed as a targaryen? POINTLESS

- the night king being hyped up as the biggest threat for 8 seasons? POINTLESS

- cersei being the original mad queen and being hyped up as the biggest human threat? POINTLESS

- jaime’s character development and 8-year long redemption arc? POINTLESS

- bran becoming the three-eyed raven? POINTLESS

- jon being brought back from the dead for a higher purpose? POINTLESS

- arya leaving braavos and instead choosing her family and home? POINTLESS

- the starks going through hell for years and years waiting to be reunited? POINTLESS because they were reunited for like 5 minutes before being separated again

- daenerys overcoming all the terrible things that happened to her, bringing magic back to the world, going from nothing to becoming one of the most powerful people on earth, pledging to break the wheel, learning the moral difficulties of ruling, trying hard not to be like her father? POINTLESS

BUT HEY AT LEAST BRONN GOT HIS CASTLE SO IT’S ALL GOOD

So I haven’t watched the final episodes of GoT yet because this season has broken my heart. I think a mad queen would’ve been epic but I don’t think that mad queen should’ve been dany. Yes FoReShAdoWInG made it seem like dany would eventually become mad but I think Cersei would’ve made the perfect mad queen.

Honestly I think it would’ve been far more powerful and heart breaking if Dany and Cersei had switched deaths. Yes Cersei doesn’t want to die but I think after the death of her children, in particular Tommen, I think she would do EVERYTHING to hold onto that power. She would’ve let the entirety of Kings landing burn with everyone inside die if it meant she got to keep her crown.

Imagine just as she’s about release even more wildfire upon KL Jamie walks into the room (just as Jon did with dany.) They have basically the exact same dialogue as dany and Jon but with Jamie completing his redemption arc and killing Cersei. We would have got imo one of the best tv arcs on GoT. The moment would’ve been painful for Jamie as he is killing his sister - the mother of his children and his unborn child but ultimately mirroring when he killed the mad king. It would also fufill the prophecy that we got about Cersei being killed by her younger brother.

Now imagine Dany and Jon’s death if we completely switched the deaths. Drogon has just died due to the huge ass cross bow things just like Visierion which shouldn’t have killed a dragon but o well Dany would have lost all of her children at this point, probably feeling completely hopeless after watching THREE of her babies die and melisendei die at the hands of her enemy. Jon attempts to get Dany out of KL to save her life. But of course the rumble is falling and they’re basically trapped. Dany looks at Jon and says “I don’t want to die” with that amazing upset look that Emilia does that breaks your heart they have a moment when they are not potential rulers, they are not descendants of the great house of Targaryen. They’re just a moment when they are a man and a women faced with death. Jon takes Dany into an embrace to comfort her moments before the rumble above them collapses. While I hate the fact dany died I think it would be a heart breaking end to her story. Not because she was killed and betrayed by her lover but because she got so close to getting everything she ever wanted for it to all fail when she’s within an arms throw from the iron throne.

Tyrion said he thought everyone who was drinking in that room before the battle of Winterfell would live and I trust my baby Lannister with my life

TRUE OMG YES AND NON OF THE OTHERS ARE GOING TO DIE NOW SO YOURE RIGHT I LOVE THIS CLOWN CLUB

WOW. By the way I read a great theory that Tyrion knows who is going to live and die because he talked to Bran that night in Winterfell and we never saw what they discussed. So this might be it! Bran told him Cersei and her child will die which is why Tyrion was trying so hard to convince her to surrender and then he basically forced Jaime to take her with him and protect her because he knew Jaime would survive. But, alas, destiny…

BTW people should talk about this in my opinion. Tyrion had trouble convincing Jaime to escape and save Cersei.

what even was the point of this show? like i’m genuinely curious. what was the point of jon’s parentage reveal. what was the point of him being resurrected if he didn’t kill the night king. what was the point of establishing a prophecy foretelling cersei would die by her brother’s hand when that didn’t happen. what was the point of setting daenerys up as a just ruler who wanted to make the world better. what was the point of jaime’s entire character arc. what was the point.

Also, can we fucking agree that we like Sansa without tearing down another female character??? Dany didn’t need to be fucking destroyed for Sansa to be awesome she already was awesome. Pitting females characters against each other is such a fucking shitty thing to do and doing it is falling into the sexist ‘all women fight’ trope that D&D shoved into season 8.

Can y’all reblog this post if you plan on continuing to post positivity about Dany (either in the books or s1-7)!

I totally understand why a lot of people will be leaving the fandom completely but I need to see positivity for my girl so let me know if you’ll still be around and I’ll check out your blog!

i feel like what a lot of people don’t understand about gendrya is that their relationship is meant to be a direct contrast between robert and lyanna, not a parallel. robert baratheon was a rapist and abuser who ordered the deaths of innocent children. the whole point of his relationship with lyanna is that he coveted an image of her that never existed. he “saw her beauty, not the iron underneath.” he felt entitled to lyanna in the same fucked up way that rhaegar did. he raped cersei during the entirety of their marriage, and he would have raped lyanna if given the chance.

gendry’s relationship with arya is not based on pride, entitlement, or sexist idealism. gendry loves arya for who she is–for the beauty and the iron. yes, we got the “i have a son, you have a daughter” foreshadowing, and yes, gendry has his baratheon hammer. but unlike robert, whose only good accomplishments were making gendry and killing rhaegar, he’s using his newfound position for good. he loves arya, and arya loves him just as much. so this whole, “let gendry get the happy ending his father never had” and “gendry and his father both got friendzoned by (read: in robert’s case stopped from raping) a stark woman hahahaha” is some really distasteful bullshit if you ask me. gendry baratheon might have his father’s looks, and his father’s name, but the whole point of his character is that he isn’t his father’s son.
