So maybe I’m a grade A clown (I definitely am), but I kind of feel like they’re not actually going the Loki/Sylvie romantic route?? The way that Mobius talked about it, called it out for being weird and uncomfortable, would be a really odd dialogue choice if they ended up ACTUALLY doing it in canon. Like why include that scene, especially when Mobius is the moral compass of the whole show, if they were trying to make it out to be an endgame “self-cest” thing?

I DO think it’s kind of weird that this ep focused so much on Loki’s fear of being alone, and then put so much emphasis on a possible romantic relationship as the thing to fulfill that. But that doesn’t mean it’s where the show ends up going.

For one thing, Loki never actually admits to any romantic feelings. In fact, he denies it throughout the whole episode. It’s possible that he just didn’t want to admit it. But what seems more likely to me is that Loki isn’t entirely sure what his feelings for Sylvie actually are.

He clearly felt a connection with her, which triggered a Nexus event. Mobius assumes that this connection was romantic. But I think it’s far more likely that Loki recognized himself in Sylvie as they were talking, and saw how alone she was. He felt empathy for her, and for the first time in his life he was able to turn some of that same empathy back on himself. He started to realize that neither of them deserve to be alone. And since this is the first time he’s ever felt this way, he may not know what to make of those feelings.

This also ties in to my theory about young Sylvie’s initial Nexus event. We know she was told about her adoption, unlike our Loki. That secret being kept from Loki was a HUGE factor in him eventually becoming a villain. So when Sylvie was told about it at such a young age, a Nexus event was created because that knowledge would have probably kept her from becoming the villain Loki is “supposed” to be. She was able to accept herself from the beginning, until the TVA stepped in.

And once again, the Nexus event between Sylvie and Loki in this ep was caused by self-acceptance. Loki realizes that Sylvie deserves better, and therefore so does he. Neither of them have to be the villain that always loses, and neither of them have to be alone. This Nexus event is the official start of our Loki going down a different path than what the TVA set for him, one where he doesn’t have to be the lone villain.

Maybe I’m reaching, but it seems likely to me that this will end up playing out with Loki realizing that his feelings towards Sylvie are a manifestation of his new self-acceptance and desire for connection, and not a genuine romantic interest. Mobius poked at him, saying that his feelings for Sylvie made him a narcissist. But if those feelings are transitive self-love, rather than romance, the whole thing makes a lot more sense.

After all, the whole show so far has been about Loki challenging his perception of himself. Mobius was a big part of that, but so was Sylvie. By forming connections with these two characters, and by accepting Sylvie (giving up the whole “superior Loki” thing), he’s slowly but surely learning to accept himself as well. He just might not have figured out what that means for him yet.

the clip that everyone keeps spreading where dream “states that he’s straight” cuts off the beginning where he introduced the sentence as a hypothetical. he did not make any statement about his sexuality.

my take on Dream’s supposed queer baiting

Now, I don’t know a lot about this situation, but I am versed in the topic of queer baiting. This’ll be a short take, but I wanted to at least give my opinion.

Queer baiting, to me, is when a piece of media give the impression or even outright promises that there will be some kind of queer representation in said media. By my definition, this situation doesn’t apply.

1, Dream and George, although creating media, are still real people, not a fictional character. I would consider Klance, or at least Lance as a character, from Voltron Legendary Defenders as a perfect example of queer baiting. I say this, of course, because of the official artwork strongly suggesting Lance having a relationship or tie with LGBTQ. This even though the writers/artists/producers of the show were wrong in doing this and shouldn’t have queer baited, it definitely didn’t warrant death threats.

Sorry I got on a Klance rant. My point is, Dream and George are real living, breathing people. They don’t OWE anyone an explanation of their sexuality or really anything to do with their personal lives. I think fans often get caught up in the media, especially with CCs (content creators), thinking that they’re entitled to this type of shit which is just not true. No one except you are entitled to share your personal life.

TLDR: I wholeheartedly think Dream and George were/are NOT queer baiting.

This is exactly correct, thank you.

I’m not usually one for discourse, I also haven’t posted to this blog in like a year but I’m re-emerging bc I cannot stop thinking about this

(This is about the Dream + Kasey discourse, I’m on Dreams side and anyone who hates him for whatever reason please just dni, this isn’t an invite for debate about his past dramas, just my two cents on this particular insident bc it’s close to me)

First of all, Kasey shouldn’t be dragging people into her issues. She is the one who said slurs, and she’s an adult, she needs to take accountability herself and stop fighting back trying to make others seem worse than she is to take the heat off her.

Second of all, Dream and George are not queer baiting. The way they behave together is typical of straight men who are close friends. Dream has a flirty personality (as do a lot of ccs in this scene) and says himself that the way they act on camera is the same when they’re off camera. As a queer person, I feel I have some right to address this and the way Dream and George act, whilst definitely pandering to their viewers shipping of them, is not queer baiting in the slightest. They’ve never pretended they were actually dating in order to get views or money, they’ve always been clear that they’re joking.

But third of all, and what hurt me the most, is the fact that they forced Dream to label his sexuality - he’s said before that he’s uncomfortable with labels, and he’s completely within his right to keep who he’s sexually attracted to private. The way that Kasey (and the other two) backed him into a corner and forced him to label himself is honestly vile behaviour, and quite literally bullying??

Even the gayest of the gays would have said they were straight in that moment - I know I would have - because it’s the safest option. The way that they manipulated their angle into either forcing him to come out, or saying he was straight and then using it against him is gross and not okay.

I honestly didn’t know who Kasey was before this, and I do not wish to know her at all after. Dream didn’t have to go and talk to them, he was pretty much doing charity work and for them to just bully and gaslight him for an hour if fucking disgusting.

Okay someone needs to explain this to me because

So if Steve has always been Peggy’s husband in the MCU, and he was the old man carrying her casket in Civil War, then that means young Steve not only kissed but potentially slept with his niece...

And if that is true, then wouldn’t Sharon know? If Steve has always been Peggy’s husband, and Peggy is Sharon’s aunt, then sure they would talk about how Steve became enhanced and became captain America the hero.

Wouldn’t Sharon know that she was dating or having sex with the younger version of her uncle and the younger version of her aunt’s husband?

CAN SOMEONE PLEADE EXPLAIN THIS TO ME BEFORE I-

I’ve seen Horny Internet Fangirls fall physically in lust with everything from standard hunks to weird cartoons to robots to monsters and every body type from potbelly bear to skeletal beanpole and it never fails to amaze me, when by comparison, straight guys seem to have trouble with any woman who isn’t hourglass shaped

INTOXICATED [the cullens]

Note: This is playing on a theory I’ve had for a while now - Could a Vampire of the twilight kind ever get drunk? I am very bad at writing but would not be opposed to doing a part two should this be we’ll received :)))

Pairing: None

Characters: the Cullen’s + You

Warnings: Alcohol (obviously), swearing.

————

The Graduation party was coming to an end, (Y/N) was positively buzzed - having chugged beers and thrown back shots throughout the night. She wasn’t irresponsible, just looking to let loose after the stress of school.

The Cullen’s; being as they were, were fully aware of everything that was going on around them. They could smell the alcohol in the air and their supernaturally inclined human friend (Y/N) reeked of it. Edward and Alice were constantly checking to make sure she was okay, Rosalie stood in the corner glaring - maybe wishing she could have gotten drunk too. Emmett stood beside her, trying to coax her into dancing the last dance.

They wouldn’t say they were having a bad time - but their enjoyment would be seriously improved by being drunk with the rest of the kids.

Intoxicated graduates stumbled through the doors of the Cullen house till only (Y/N) and them remained. Even with the music now turned off, it didn’t stop (Y/N) from dancing - when Edward and Bella both tried to encourage her to go to sleep, she simply replied with;

“Fuck off guys! You’re not my - parents!” Pausing to hiccup and laugh at Edwards disgust at her language.

Emmett wasn’t being much help, as he was whooping from the sofa and laughing at their strange friend.

“You know what you guys ne-ed?” (Y/N) stopped dancing, but continued to sway on her feet.

“What, (Y/N)?” Jasper asked, concealing the amused smirk at her slurring

“Alcohol! You guys need to driiiiinnnnkkkkk.” (Y/N) just about yelled, giggling away.

“(Y/N), you know alcohol doesn’t effect vampires.” Bella said tiredly, even though she couldn’t necessarily get tired.

“Oh… yeah.” (Y/N) pouted, her mood suddenly switching. She stood perfectly still for a few moments, the Cullen family watching curiously.

(Y/N) gasped, an idea forming in her head and a crazy kind of smile growing on her face. Edward, having read her mind, widened his eyes.

“(Y/N) No.” he scolds, but she’s already gone - running to the kitchen, calling over her shoulder;

“(Y/N) Yes!”

She grabbed the last two bottles of Jack, determined to get her friends as drunk as her.

Alice laughed as she saw what she was going to do, the rest of the Cullen family - aside from Carlisle, Esme, and Renessme who had gone on a trip, wanting to be away from the major party animals environment - looked to her in intrigue.

(Y/N) ran out of the house, and into the forrest; ready to find an animal of any kind. When the Cullen’s found her, she was trying to get a deer to drink from the bottle.

“(Y/N) that’s not going to work.” Rosalie chuckled; she’d warmed to this human much easier.

“It might! Don’t lose hope Rose-y.” (Y/N)’s loud, drawn out words disturbed the deers quiet grazing and it ran off. “Damn it!” She said, frustrated. (Y/N) sighed, pouting again.

The scene would have made anyone laugh - an incredibly intoxicated young girl sat on the dirty forrest floor, pouting because she couldn’t feed a deer alcohol in hopes to get her blood-drinking friends drunk.

“We should totally test this.” Emmett says, a new plan forming in his head, probably one that was more detailed than (Y/N)’s. The girl in question had peeked up at the support of her theory, furiously nodding her head in agreement.

“Emmett, no it’s not going to work.” Jasper shook his head.

“Al’” (Y/N) called, struggling to her feet. “Level with me; does - it work?”

Alice zoned out for a few moments, and came back too with a smile on her face. Both she and Edward became pleasantly surprised and the rest of the Cullen’s seemed astonished.

“Yes, (Y/N) I do believe it does.” Alice said, smiling at the girls elated expression

“(Y/N). You’re a genius!” Emmett laughed, lifting the girl in the air.

“Yeah I am.” (Y/N)’s voice seemed sleepy now “Lets get drunk! But -” she yawned “maybe tomorrow…”
