❝ It looks good , ❞ The king glanced at her for a lingering moment , pausing as if what he had uttered were a complete & & unbroken thought . It took a visible moment for his majesty to become stirred by the realization , that it was , in fact , NOT , before quickly elaborating ,
❝ Your hair , I mean , it’s …. it’s more …. You , I guess . ❞ One corner of his mouth twitched upward , made both sheepish & & humored by his choice of words . Ben didn’t know anything about FASHION , he couldn’t tell you with good assurance that you were or weren’t a walking fashion faux pax , & & he definitely wasn’t a suitable judge for offering his two cents on a MAKEOVER . Though , what he did see & & wished he could have noticed sooner was the way her WASHED-OUT-PRINCESS STYLE seemed ill-fitting in comparison ; a size too small or a size too big when measured to what fit her just right . He wasn’t sure if it was the moon hanging low beneath the clouds that night , or the shiny lipstick she wore that made her smile seem that much brighter than he’d seen it in months .
I’m done for tonight , I’m going to do the two starters I owe tomorrow but here’s a discord drop if anyone wants to talk privately . Just let me know who you are !
If your muse is a VK , don’t think about Ben finding out they’re injured , & & immediately insisting he take them to a hospital
Don’t think about the fact that the Isle had no fully functioning hospital , so you’ve never ACTUALLY seen a REAL doctor before .
Don’t think about the look on his face , one that resembles an amalgamation of horror & & realization as you remind him that you haven’t seen a doctor thus far , so surely you’ll be fine
& & definitely don’t think about how he urgently takes you anyway , & & practically pleads for you to accept a physical from the physician who’s seeing you now . Or how reassuring his voice sounds as he offers to either leave or stay , depending on how much you need him there or how much you need him to LEAVE .
Don’t think about Ben sitting in the waiting room , bouncing the balls of his feet up & & down as he sits anxiously in the waiting room , not entirely sure why despite the number of meetings he’s had to attend in the past twenty four hours , that THIS is the most nerve wracking thing to happen .
& & of course he’s nervous , physicals & & shots exist to prolong one’s life expectancy & & ensure a healthy maturity . What if the doctor finds something ? Why hasn’t it occurred to him that the people on the Isle never had a proper health care system ? & & that any one of them could be suffering from ailments only heard from in the history books ?
Don’t think about how he doesn’t tell you any of this , because he knows this is your first time & & whether you’re scared or not he doesn’t want to make you feel ODD , DIFFERENT , even more OUTCASTED from society than you may have initially thought .
Don’t think about Ben taking a VK to the hospital for the first time .
