I am in love with Clara 😭

Transcript:

Clara trusts me enough to show me different parts of her body like her belly. show me her mouth and allow me to touch all of those teeth. —right? can you turn and show them all of your teeth? good job!— So we work really hard on being able to look over their entire bodies, and progress those behaviors to things like voluntary blood draws, ultrasounds, teeth brushing, and radiographing. —right? yeah!— But the biggest thing is we find what they find reenforcing and they show us that. and that includes hugs. —right?— And Clara has shown us that she really seems to enjoy tactile, so I give her this hand signal and she will show me what part of her body she wants rubbed. So, right now she wants a big noogie —right? good.— and sometimes what I will do is I’ll make her head a little pancake. or then I’ll rub her side and then she snuggles right in. —huh? huh! good girl thats very nice, good.— And then like I said, she would climb right on my lap and allow me to continue giving her tactile.

The AI issue is what happens when you raise generation after generation of people to not respect the arts. This is what happens when a person who wants to major in theatre, or English lit, or any other creative major gets the response, "And what are you going to do with that?" or "Good luck getting a job!"

You get tech bros who think it's easy. They don't know the blood, sweat, and tears that go into a creative endeavor because they were taught to completely disregard that kind of labor. They think they can just code it away.

That's (one of the reasons) why we're in this mess.

Do... they... not force you to take ethics with your coding classes anymore?????

I had an ethics class one semester each year when I was in uni, and that was only like.... 12 years ago?

Fucking hell the (lack of) education in the capitalist world never ceases to distress me

Ethics classes in STEM are the exception, not the norm. My college certainly didn't require them for any STEM major.

Wow I HATE learning this, but it certainly explains all the people who apparently can't tell when their clients/coworkers are nazis.

Oh boy. Oof.

Yeah. I haven't been to uni for coding, but I did go once for biomolecular engineering (...and then covid happened and I'm imm.comp.) and we had to take an ethics course 1st trimester freshman year. The majority of my classmates didn't grasp most of the content. BioE uses things like CRISPR and gain of function research and the like. We had labs that only seniors could go into, must enter in pairs, must take a sanitization shower and change clothes before entering, must leave EVERYTHING outside the lab not even your phone or spare pen comes in... And in that ethics course we had people who didn't understand why ethics and regulations that exist BECAUSE of ethics were so important.

People are not raised to think anymore. This college experience was in 2019. Ethics are a forgotten measure.
