The Paissa Press - Volume I

The Paissa Press staff is overjoyed to bring you the very first edition of our publication. We worked extremely hard to bring forth interesting news, columns and coverage for you this month!

This volume touches on some interesting news pieces, including the breakup of WYNG and nutkin attacks on a popular dive bar. Doctor Lia provides some wonderful advice to readers and Gus Pumpkinweed describes a very spooky tale. Don’t miss Aegir, who shows off his artistic talent once again with his famous comic strip.

Tonight’s the night!

Palazzo Aldenard invites you to join us for a night of fancy gowns, waltzes, cocktails and hidden identities.

Immersive music, dimmed lighting, and expertly crafted decor will transport you from the hot dregs of summer to a whimsical ballroom of Ishgard.

Come with a date or partake in a roulette and allow fate to decide your evening. Enjoy an evening of discretion and disguise, but as always, masks come off at midnight.

Proceeds from the evening will help fund the Palazzo School of Performing Arts, as well as fund future Palazzo productions. To help raise funds, two raffles will be held that will include:

A bespoke garment from our gifted weavers who will create a look worthy of a fantasy tale ((Fairy Tale set from the Mog Station))

A one of a kind portrait session with the Palazzo’s talented painter for a truly priceless heirloom. ((A portrait commission from the amazing @lilysyndrome ))

Our yard has been artfully arranged for those that may tire of the crowds and wish to rendezvous with a mysterious stranger they’ve just met or take a breather with familiar friends.

[BALMUNG EVENT] Quiz Night

The Garden of Words & Chocobo Dreams invite you to join us for a quiz night!

Test you knowledge of all sorts of trivia to perhaps walk away with a grand prize at the famed book and tea shop ‘The Garden of Words’. The shop will be open at its regular time at six bells, with the quiz starting little over half a bell later.

When: Saturday, September 8th. The shop opens at its regular time at 6pm ET/ midnight CEST. Signing up for the quiz can be done for about 30 minutes, after which the quiz itself will start and last about 30-60 minutes.

Questions will be alternated by short opinion-based discussions for the scholarly inclined.

Where: @thegardenofwordsffxiv in the Lavender Beds, ward 8, plot 27

Who: Anyone who wants to test their mettle against other great minds of Eorzea. We do have a limited amount of people that can join, and it will be at a first come, first serve basis. You can leave a message at Chocobo Dreams if you want to sign yourself up before the event.

Rules:

Depending on the amount of contestants we will either have 1 or 3 rounds:

1 round: All contestants are gathered at once and up to 10-15 questions will be asked depending on the time.

3 rounds: The contestants are split in two smaller groups. The winners of each group will be up against one another. 3-5 questions per round.

Prize: Any ONE item of your choice from the Mog Station at 10USD max for the one who answers the most questions right.

When: Tuesday, August 28th  Where: Costa del Sol, Hidden Falls: Balmung

We’ll be featuring a new custom menu specifically for the 28th that features beach themed drinks and snacks as a final binge to the summer seasons! 

Menphina’s Bosom, Lazy Lion’s & Equinox will also be providing entertainment and music in the form of Summer themed performances as well as music before and after shows!

We will also be hosting TWO prize filled events throughout the evening!

Stuff your face with delicious cakes both baked and decorated by the Keighley husbands! So good you’ll want to join just to have a slice… or seven! (Contest will be held @ 32,24). An eating contest done by /random rolls!

Signups for Cake by the Ocean

Race with a partner against two other teams for the chance at the grand prize! Can you overcome the treacherous territory and claim the title?

4 checkpoints will be put in place, A, B, C and D. 1 person from each team will start at checkpoint A and the other will start at checkpoint C. In between each checkpoint is 2 /random checks! To advance you must roll over 500! However, if the lucky duck rolls 900 or more, they get to advance automatically to the next random check! When the first player reaches point C, they hand off the race to their partner and the process starts again. The first person to reach checkpoint D wins!

We will be accepting THREE teams of two people to run this race! Sign ups will be closed 5 minutes before the race begins or if all three team spots are filled!
