Funniest thing in the whole wide world is opening a completed fic and seeing the author’s note for the first chapter say something like “unlike my other fics, this will be a shorter one! Expect it to be complete within three months or so” and then you look at the stats and the fic is 100k+ words and took two years to finish

Second funniest thing is progressing through a fic and reading the authors notes and every three or so chapters they’re like “you might have noticed the chapter count has increased from five to eight! Some scenes have gotten away from me” and “okay so the chapter count is updated from 14 to 19. just. just ignore that” and the actual completed fic is 37 chapters long

1. The last King of Faerie: This is either Ash or Kit. It probably refers them being exposed as faerie royalty.

2. The Last Prince of Hell: Lucifer babygirl is here. I think he’s the last prince of hell we are yet to meet, so it’s probably him.

3. The Last Shadowhunter: What if it’s Janus? Or someone else from Thule?

these are very wise (and very real) words. believe me.

Really big addendum: "passion for a career" =/= "passion." Realizing you don't have a passion for a career might just mean that your passions lay in something that you can't make a career out of it. Realize that early and you can save yourself a lot of trouble, heartbreak, and existential dread.

This doesn’t mean you have to hate your job though. Sure, maybe it isn’t your favourite thing, but waking up in the morning and being resentful you have to go to work every day gets tiring.

My advice would be to work backwards: what can you not stand the thought of doing? — then narrow it down from there

I did this and ended up with a job a generally enjoy pretty well. Sure, my passion is the arts of physical labour(such as sewing, crochet, etc), but I don’t want to make a career out of that, so the next best thing was something I kinda like. And it worked out.

I hope whatever you end up doing with your life, you don’t hate it.

Cordelia and Thomas are so silly🥹. If you think about it more than half of TLH is just them dating James and Alastair without James and Alastair being aware of it.

They just walk around and occasionally yell at them for cheating while James and Alastair trying their best to remember when did they agree to date them. I guess they just got confused and accepted their fate
