Art Black Out April 15th

@artblackout / artblackout.tumblr.com

--- #artblackout --- On April 15th - World Art Day - artists only post black images to draw awareness to something people take as given: a steady stream of visual content on their dashes. For one day, let's flood dashes everywhere with gaping black spaces where art is supposed to be. --- https://twitter.com/artblackout --- https://www.instagram.com/artblackout_april15/

Wip of wedding bells part 3! So excited to be using my science knowledge for once lol

Ooh and here is a ballpoint sketch i drew the other day; i love drawing sweater texture, its v hard but looks so pretty)

(Both of these are covered for #artblackout. Stop art theft, stop stealing from artists and writers. If this continues, this is what our dashes will look without art)

I know that I’m like,a day late for this,but I thought it was important

@artblackout is doing the lord’s work by showing what the internet would be like if artists stopped posting due to theft. There are a lot of artists who are afraid to post their art out of fear of having it stolen or not credited properly.

DO NOT STEAL ART.DON’T REPOST WITHOUT CREDIT OR CLAIM IT AS YOUR OWN.These artists put so much effort into their art and seeing it get stolen is the worst. Thankfully, I’ve never had my art stolen,but I will stand with those who have.

My contribution to the artist blackout. I'm standing in solidarity with the artists and writers of tumblr. So much work goes unappreciated on the internet. Some artists are willing to literally put out tons of free content for nothing more than some reblogs and an encouraging word. Same for fic writers like myself. Just comment. Tell me what you liked. I understand not everyone is in a financial position for commissions but comments and reblogs are free. The internet and tumblr would not be the same without the wonderful artists on this website. Give appreciation.

My contribution to the art blackout. Reposting is art theft and it damages artists. Please think before you post your ‘don’t know who but credit to the artist!’ captions.

a metaphor for what the world will look like if artists continue to have to stop posting due to the rampant art theft that plagues every website.

Please respect artists and writers. They work so hard to make their wonderful content and the internet would be so boring without them. The least one can do to show their appreciation is treat them with the kindness they deserve.

drew a picture for a friend, she liked it. she didn’t tell me that she made copies and sold them without my permission. hundreds of cash did not go to me, it went to her. i was distraught.

i feel obligated to support artists who struggle due to reposters and thieves. it is their hard work and dedication poured into their pieces, not yours. do not steal, disregard, or destroy. it is not yours to distribute, desecrate, or profit from. appreciate and respect, that is all we are asking for you to do.

Support Artists, not reposters

Stop reposting art without permission and stop supporting people who do. We'd have nothing without artists sharing their creations freely for everyone to enjoy.
