Listen. If you think writing fanfiction is cringe please know that I am currently pursuing my Masters degree in Creative Writing for fiction and I want you to know that most of the people in my graduate program either read fanfiction, write fanfiction, or do both. I promise you: cringe is dead. Write whatever you want. Do whatever makes you happy.
Reblog if reading someone else’s fanfiction has helped you get through a hard day
Reblog the writers’ fortune cookie for luck!
Guys I reblogged this and then wrote an 8000 word story I didn’t even have a solid plan for. Reblog this shit.

Tips for Writing a Difficult Scene
Every writer inevitably gets to that scene that just doesn't want to work. It doesn't flow, no matter how hard you try. Well, here are some things to try to get out of that rut:
1. Change the weather
- I know this doesn't sound like it'll make much of a difference, but trust me when I say it does.
- Every single time I've tried this, it worked and the scene flowed magically.
2. Change the POV
- If your book has multiple POV characters, it might be a good idea to switch the scene to another character's perspective.
- 9/10 times, this will make the scene flow better.
3. Start the scene earlier/later
- Oftentimes, a scene just doesn't work because you're not starting in the right place.
- Perhaps you're starting too late and giving too little context. Perhaps some description or character introspection is needed before you dive in.
- Alternatively, you may be taking too long to get to the actual point of the scene. Would it help to dive straight into the action without much ado?
4. Write only the dialogue
- If your scene involves dialogue, it can help immensely to write only the spoken words the first time round.
- It's even better if you highlight different characters' speech in different colors.
- Then, later on, you can go back and fill in the dialogue tags, description etc.
5. Fuck it and use a placeholder
- If nothing works, it's time to move on.
- Rather than perpetually getting stuck on that one scene, use a placeholder. Something like: [they escape somehow] or [big emotional talk].
- And then continue with the draft.
- This'll help you keep momentum and, maybe, make the scene easier to write later on once you have a better grasp on the plot and characters.
- Trust me, I do this all the time.
- It can take some practice to get past your Type A brain screaming at you, but it's worth it.
So, those are some things to try when a scene is being difficult. I hope that these tips help :)

If you see this on your dashboard, reblog this, NO MATTER WHAT and all your dreams and wishes will come true.
I think all content creators can relate to this.
In my opinion, I don’t think followers really understand how much your requests/likes/reblogs/etc. and random asks mean to me. It’s just so refreshing and nice to know that people enjoy what I’m doing and support me.
People that go the extra mile and send an ask or message letting me know they liked my stuff honestly makes my day. I love reading tags and stuff…it’s honestly so cute….
And people who ask about how I’m doing or send me random questions or cute asks….I just want you guys to know it honestly makes my day. I just love all the interaction and such. It makes running a blog so much more enjoyable.
And Fanart/Fanwork? Honestly that’s one of the greatest things to receive. To everyone that draws or writes, please don’t feel too insecure to send it end! No one is going to criticize you over quality. It’s so sweet that you even thought about making something…I will always appreciate it no matter what, and I’m sure all other content creators feel the same.
So, in conclusion, don’t be afraid to talk to your favorite blogs and show them some love, guys! We always appreciate it! ☺️

Storytime, ladies and gents! So I work as an emt during the week and one of the numerous calls we do is a psych transfer, which is taking a psych pt from one hospital going to a different hospital. Last week, my partner and I are going to pick up a pt and we come to find out our pt had fled the unit we were picking them up from and had to be sedated in order to make the trip go smoothly...let me tell ya, folks, that one was a dooze. This pt had the balls to make a comment while I'm strapping him down on my stretcher with cpep buckles for their safety "Mmm I like it tighter. The tighter the better". And how do you think I responded to that remark, you may ask. I tighten them up more. Afterwards my partner and I were talking about it and we could not hold back how hilariously awkward it was to hear that from a pt and not go into the gutter for thinking of how it sounded outloud.
This week...I get a jumper. And this one managed to make it across the street where the hospital was, going into an apartment complex while my 5'2", skinny ass chased after him. Thank God my partner and a rn was around when this pt started to bolt, alerting campus security to aid in bringing him back to the hospital to be medicated. This one, however, was polite and apologized for making me run after him. I told them I wasn't mad, just wasn't expecting the cardio workout to make sure he was ok and didn't hurt himself or anyone else, for that matter. Pd and the RNs were happy that pt was ok and even stated I did a great job. "Listen, I'm just doing my job. I just want to be able to do my paperwork". No water, I'm not dying for air...hell no was I going to need o2 if I was able to pace myself while chasing this pt down. Hell, my boss and the CEO of my job were happy I did a great job. Dude, anyone would have done the same exact thing I did...I was just lucky to not have to tackle the guy down. Was not looking forward to all that.

Valentines day is right about the corner
so reblog to have anons tell you what valentines date they would take you on
Watching Netflix when I should be sleeping...who else goes through that at night? Then again, this is when I have to train myself to sleeping during the day so that I can go through my night shifts Thursdays into Friday mornings. Right now, it's the cecil hotel documentary, which has caught my eye. @pinupac87 would know of my interest of mystery and true crimes along with other flights of fancy, like fandoms of video games, movies and tv shows (yes, @pinupac87 you know which ONES I like, lol)
Then again, @pinupac87 has known me irl since 2005. We can trade stories of how we first met (i.e. I assisted her with a scene for one of her plays she was doing and her acting professor asked if I was taking a course in theater). Our friendship blossomed since then with how our lives evoked from our days of college to her dream of taking photographs (i.e. me being her model when I had a chance, helping her with her equipment, etc) to marriage on my end (she was the one responsible for my wedding and reception photos) to kids being involved (her niece and my son) and everything in-between. So yes she knows me pretty darn well.
And I know that I don't post a lot of stuff on here or any of my other social media outlets due to my two jobs (I work security for an apartment building on the weekends and as an EMT during the week) along with being a wife and a mom of a 5 year old kid. But I do wander around and read a lot of fanfics on my spare time and during downtime at my job during the week (hence a LOT of likes of other people's writings of my faves, such as Pedro Pascal and such...yeah, I do have a problem, lol. But they're freaking good! You all know who you are--you guys write the best stuff, even when I don't know I needed them for the day)
There's also likes of stuff that I think are helpful, such as mental health (I was diagnosed with postpartum depression with onset of anxiety back in 2017, which had been delayed after the birth of my son and happened while I was still attached to the military. I've gotten better and know what my triggers are and found my outlets:talking with friends and coworkers, reading fanfics, watching YouTube and whatnot); a few masterlists of fics that I either have read or going to read (it's hard to remember at times which person wrote what, so it helps to find it) and other things (found an audio tumblr that had some good stuff that's NSFW. What? It helps me out: I'm a hot blooded woman, lol)
So, if you happen to catch me lurking around, you guys are awesome and deserve all the happiness that life can offer to ya. Never let others bring you down. Reach out to those you trust and love if life gets ya down. Don't be afraid to voice out your opinions. And haters can hate--you can't let that bring ya down. And...as a wise man has said: "Don't forget to love one another. We love you. And...is it Thursday?"
Fanfiction isn’t written for you, it’s shared with you.

No bragging, just 100% floored and grateful. Work hard, maintain a positive attitude, and believe that anything can happen.
So I reblogged this exactly a week ago because I thought it was funny and uh lo and behold, a family friend wrote me a big ol’ check just to help me out of a tough financial spot AND my bank refunded me $32 for fees they’d originally taken out. SO UH YEAH. Reblogging this again in hopes that it brings equally good fortune to my followers.
