aaand at almost exactly 4 am, i have finished reading all of the rp logs, including the boinks and epilogue. wow. you two are amazing at this, it seems like you dont really do this all that much anymore but whats here is great. youve both earned a pretty dedicated follower, if either of you write any sort of fiction again ill be keeping an eye on it. on a funnier note that took 3 weeks to read through yallre insane

((Holy cow three weeks?

... I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised. It did take us months of near constant writing to push out the ridiculous amount of fiction we’ve posted here.

And that’s probably only like... half of what we’ve actually written? There are tons of other aus that sit in google docs that will probably never be posted. lol

Right now we are actually writing a little together again, which is fun! Although I don’t think it’s something that will be fully posted, at least not in its current format. Outside of that though I’m working on a western au on my main, and I know Baseball has a few fics she’s pushing through over on @batfamscreaming, as well as her to-do book.))

OK SO. first of all, hello, skull you may recognize me from my sudden and aggressive engagement with your main, lol. one of my friends recommended AYEM to me 2 weeks ago, and every night since then ive been bingeing. first AYEM. then MG. then i scrolled to the bottom of MG's askblog and worked my way up. then, the big project, MAYEM's ao3 mirror which proudly boasts well over 580k words.

i finished that tonight. at just before 2am.

as i type this, its 4am.

i aggressively scrolled to the bottom of This blog and read everything (except the rp logs)

im leaving off for tonight, but all thats left are the boink bits and a couple of the extras linked in the archives.

aggressive reading at unholy times established, time for some opinions!!!!

yallre great writers, and i really enjoy all your writing and art and characters. (seems im in the minority of not immediately latching on to rage, though. sorry fandom and baseball i just simply think goop is clearly the best gaster :p. vk and kid tie a close second though so maybe thatll make up for my heresy)

im really glad you two are still around in 2020, even if you might not be too active anymore, and id love to keep reading more if you ever put anything else out!

(after reading what ive missed anyway.)

i have to say that this was one of the best sets of fanfic/rp ive read, ever. definitely the best in the undertale fandom so far (but thats not saying much, my ut fanfic days were spent in the abyss known as wattpad. i shudder to remember trying to find a non-xreader.) good job, both of you.

as its already taken 15 minutes to type this horribly long submission-rant, im gonna leave my rambling here

(ps skull since it seems youve been the one seeing most of these, bug baseball to read it too, its absolutely directed toward Both of the amazing people who made all this possible)

------------------

((Wow, I applaud your dedication because that is... a lot of reading. I know our output was pretty insane when we did this, so you have some serious stamina to get through it all.

I hope you went to bed afterwards and didn’t have anything to wake up for the next day. lol

Thank you so much for the compliments, I’m sure Baseball will see this too. It really means a lot to us that people enjoy what we’ve put into the world.))

is this blog still accepting questions?

((I’m going to give this a tentative yes? Since this blog has garnered a little interest again (thanks @kdccreative) I’ll start to check it a little more.

That being said though I work full time and Baseball has their own projects they’re working on too, so don’t expect all questions to get answered and give us a little time to actually see the asks that get sent in.))

What exactly did he do? Considering "I am making you do nothing you would otherwise dislike doing", it doesn't seem like he would have done much to make others dislike him as much as they seem to. Did he do something bad that hasn't been mentioned? Alphys's panic seems a bit extreme, unless she had some experience that hasn't been mentioned with him that'd make her panic upon seeing him. Oh, and how, when, under what circumstances did anybody figure out that Aes was influencing them? (pt 4 of 7)

Incidentally, how much explanation did that world's Sans and Papyrus give her on what the other S, P and G told them? "“It isn’t my magic,” he said, “it is a magic; a concept this world has long forgotten" - so there was a time when it wasn't forgotten, hmm? And a certain pair of Gasters have a time machine... not sure why they'd go there, but could be an interesting time for them to wind up in. Also I'm curious about "food full of love" being said "like a foreign phrase". (part 5 of 7)

so the thing is, I don’t necessarily dislike doing construction. I do it willingly and sometimes very aggressively! but that doesn’t mean I want someone to be able to tell me go do construction and all the time.

It’s not necessarily that he did something to make people dislike him. It’s more that he had power over them that they had no control over. I’m not really explaining this very well, mmm

when I was in college, I was real ass depressed. I was often in the type of bad mood that wasn’t really even a mood as much as a physical crankiness that I tried to tone down and pretend didn’t exist when encountering other people.

My college also unfortunately had a habit of chalking the sidewalks. Everywhere. They were ads, announcements for events, doodles-- and encouraging messages.

I remember one point where one organization covered the entire campus with comforting phrases like “You can do it!” “Smile you’re beautiful” “you can do anything you set out to accomplish” “This will all pass eventually” ; You know, empty platitudes.

One of the “smile youre baeitufl” or “youre so brave!!” ones was Right. Outside. My. Dorm. Every time I exited the door i most commonly exited, I would pass that message, and the only thing that very nice bland message elicited in me was Fury. Not even a fury I could enjoy, because, again, Depressed and so I would feel the screaming but without the emotional release.

like, you need to have negative emotions sometimes, and wildly all these positive phrases were unintentionally shaming me into being That Angry Person on A Happy Happy Campus.

but you want to be happy! If you had the choice, anyone would choose to be happy!

but it doesn’t work like that. You cannot be happy and content literally all of the time, it’s just physically impossible, and pretending to be that way all the time comes with a mental strain that eventually leads towards big ass breakdowns over ‘absolutely nothing.’ This is usually what Linda is actually mad about when venting her anger on retail workers.

And then there is Aes, whose magic makes it so you can be content all the time. Happy, even. Everyone who works for him is chill. no one wants to leave really. people actively seek Aes out in Hotland sometimes because it’s so much easier to be chill and kinda high maybe than to deal with the reality of an inescapable slow death beneath a mountain.

Alphys was one of the workers. She came and partook, and she stayed until the last day when Aes walked into the CORE. And then the spell was broken, and she had spent years of her life and scientific research building this machine that... she didn’t even understand. It was working, sure, the Underground had electricity, but no one had been given a blueprint. No one knew the full shape of it-- everyone had been working on their own pieces automatically, without any need for instruction!

That’s scary. Maybe nothing ‘bad’ actually happened, but that doesn’t mean that years didn’t pass and she barely remembers a variation in her days, or emotions, or life, for all those years on autopilot.

And then, of course, you have Sans and Papyrus, who were young and in need when Aes took them in. Papyrus isn’t even young enough to walk on his own or talk-- he’s still swaddled up.

What happens when you grow up without adversity, or negative emotions, or even being able to watch someone model those behaviors for you?

What happens when you’re in that state for years, and have been content for so long, and then suddenly, the person who’d been protecting you from literally everything has left of their own will, and you are injured, and for the first time in your life, you realize there will never be any stars above you?

What's left of Aes Gaster, if anything? Is VK likely to come across parts of him? (Incidentally, if Papyrus is going to visit, inviting VK along sounds like a good idea. I'm sure VK would want to help if this Gaster needs helping. And he’d probably be the best for determining whether or not there’s any Gaster there.) If Aes isn’t that world’s Gaster, then what about that world’s Gaster? That is a very worrying question, come to think of it. (part 3 of 7)

some worlds don’t have Gasters and would’ve never had a CORE built, or something else would have come up in its place. Aes slipped into a world without a Gaster because it was empty. The name “aes” comes from “aesthetic” actually. He’s the encompassing Gaster aesthetic.

And so VK wouldn’t recognize Aes even if he could find bits of him (which he will not) because Aes isn’t a Gaster-- so that isn’t a soul he can incorporate.

What happened in Aes Gaster's home world, why did he leave it? Is he connected to Seer in any way? (Is there a Riverperson in that world? Would be something for Papyrus to check out, either way.) What does he know/how does he see, basically, an explanation as to Aes asking about Goop's CORE and saying that he knew about it from Goop mentioning it, even though that mention only happened after Goop's question. I think that's all of the questions I had, or at least most of them. (part 6 of 7)

Aes is not connected to Seer; Seer is just the most similar thing Goop can think of to compare Aes to. Aes sort of appears as people expect to see him, and so when Goop sees someone he doesn’t really understand, I guess Seer is the first sort of thing to come to mind. Aes is very aware of the multiverse and has always been. He is not a Gaster as much as mimicking a Gaster (which is why his appearance is a big mess) and so he knows Gasters generally build CORESwhen he says he knows about Goop’s CORE because Goop mentioned it, that is Gaslighting as Hell my dudes :)

YOU CAN'T JUST LEAVE ME WITHOUT THE ANSWER AS TO WHY RAGE AND DINGS BECAME MINDLESS KILLERS JUMPING TIMELINES AT WILL (??) BY THE END (is there an answer?? somewhere? on this blog??? pls I'm begging ;-;)

So this is a fun one, actually, it

We did not RP this out, because it would be long and devistating, ironically, but the basics is: rage found out he was from another world and his mind finally loses it.

Longer version:

So war happens. Vrinda and Treb murdered by humans. War ends. Dings and Rage don't make it to the mountain before it's sealed up. All monsters outside the mountain are eventually killed off but them, and so they spend the intervening millenia(???) As Basically Cryptids, occasionally killing humans off but mostly trying to keep their heads down and survive. Something something a couple cults, time passes.

The mountain is eventually opened up again and monsters reintroduced to the world, so natutally they show the fuck up.

Grillby is extremely surprised to see these two disasters still alive after all this time, and sort of takes them in and keeps them away from the humans and any too excitable monsters while everyone aclamates again. But of course, you cant have monsters that still actually lived and remember thr war and then Spent All That Time Outside the Barrier and keep them a secret for too long, so they eventually become a hot goss topic and at this point skull and I were still on a weird "aw yeah let's give them a happy place to settle down and be cheesy" so they write a book w grillbys help about the war and how much humans suck and living outside the Barrier.

This is probably tbe first book written by monsters after the barrier fell and so it actually goes Fucking Wild way beyond the monster circles and ends up readable worldwide.

..... Which is how we were like "but hey what about" and a sect of some of tbe cults dating back to the Goddamn War find them and they have some Questions and also one of the guys they kill in the RP who is really good with a bow and arrow was a member anf was killed by them so rhis cult has PASSED DOWN A BLOOD FEUD with these TWO SPECIFIC SKELETONS so they have business to attend to

And in the process of Very Unpleasant Hospitality the cultists definitively establish that Rage's magic is completely different from any other and spend like a week chuffing over torture until finally Rage gets one of them to gloat about what so specifically is interesting and tbe guy lets it slip that rage is an especially rare specimin because he's a monster from another world.

And that's just about the last straw rage can take. Because he's been through a lot of shit but the one thing that was always solid was in his childhood, knowing that everything was just a lie told to him. That he was just kidnapped by an abusive human, that magic wasn't evil, that he wasn't really a dead human---

--that he was just a skeleton. Just like his brother.

After everything, having his basic foundation ripped out from under him goes badly. He manifests his magic despite any restraints and dusts the human so badly he rips a hole in realities.

One of which might be his 'home.'

And he's going to destroy it.

(And Dings, of course, will follow him. He'd follow Rage to the end of the world.

And the next one.

And the next one.)

I'd also like to add an enormous THANK YOU for having this RP up here where I could find and read it. Maybe later I'll write a great big detailed thank you, but for now (since I'm tired and this is long already) I'd just like you to know that the story really touched me. It's one hell of a rollercoaster, and it is incredible. *moldsmol wiggle* :D (part 7 of 7)

((Thank YOU for reading it! It still holds a really special place in my heart (and Baseball’s too, I’m sure), so knowing it’s still getting read and enjoyed really makes me happy. I’ve read through all your asks and let Baseball know. We’ll go through them and answer what we can soon!))

1) I was rereading some of you guys' stuff, and... hot dang, you both are fantastic at portraying emotion in your writing, and a wide range of it too. It's so fun to see you two bounce off one another, your styles compliment each other fantastically. There's the scenes that hit like a punch to the chest, but then there's also the humor. I absolutely love the humor in your stories, how it manages to feel just as abrupt and unexpected as the first time I read it, a particular KIND of humor that's

so witty and unconventional. It's an absolute joy to read, and I have no clue how you both do it, but you're doing it right and continue to make me laugh out loud. The lead up is great too, how some jokes just pop out of nowhere, then other things build up for the perfect amount of time before falling into place. That's a skill I really admire, since I'm trying to work on balancing the serious things in my writing with comedy, which you two do beautifully. It's tricky though! I feel like my
lead up is a bit too obvious sometimes so the funny part can be seen from a mile away, or if it's the kind of thing where Everyone Can See Where This Is Going But It's Hilarious When It Happens Anyway, it sort of falls flat for me. But this got a little rambly, oops. Sorry for the long read... Basically, I love your stuff, and it encourages my drive to improve, as well as even now being the highlight of my day sometimes. Keep being amazing, you guys!

((Please don’t ever apologize for sending us asks like this! I have a knot in my chest and I’m smiling so wide it hurts. Thank you so much for sending this in.))

How would Teach react to being told he looks cute? Because... he just looks really sweet. (Would Doc feel similarly, or does he got a more handsome/etc vibe? And if so how easy or difficult would it be for him to say it?)

((Teach would be really flattered I think, especially now. He has a bit of self-image issues after he had the boys since it took away a lot of the perfection that came with his abundance of magic.

Doc though? I think he might wonder if you need glasses. lol If either of them wins the whole “I hate everything about myself” award it would definitely be Doc, even if he hides it pretty damn well.

I’m unsure what you meant by the last bit of your question, but if you mean how they would be able to tell one another the other is cute, it’s... easy. Teach thinks Doc is adorable and wonderful and Doc is hella gay and thinks Teach is really attractive. lol))

I was a little shy to say anything before, but now I just decided to say what I mean. I'm glad you guys are back! No pressure to post things immediately or more quickly, I just hope you guys have fun with whatever you do!

((Thank you! We’re still not completely back, I’ve been busy with work and Baseball has been busy on her farm now that she’s home from college. We’ll get things sorted eventually though! Thanks so much for sticking with us.))

((Hey guys! I know we’re already about a week into June and still nothing has been posted, but I’ve kinda figured out a way with Baseball to keep all our aus and stuff we plan on posting/finishing organized, so now it’s just a matter of going through our backlog and getting it a little more sorted so I have things to come back to.

This will probably take awhile yet but we’re still moving forward! I just wanted to make sure you guys knew we haven’t forgotten about this blog. :) Thanks for being so patient.))

((Sorry about the sudden radio silence, guys. I’m in the process of starting a new job and moving on top of going on a bit of vacation to visit Baseball next week, so I just don’t have the time or mental capacity to go through our RP logs to get something queued up. I’m going to try and get back on this at the start of June, but until then I’m going to just officially announce a bit of a hiatus.

Thanks for being so patient with us and sticking with us all this time!))

regarding suggestions, i know i often get the desire to give advice to my younger self, so seeing ayem paps with that urge... especially in scenarios that look the same on the surface but are very different under the hood...

((Yeah definitely. AYEM Pap definitely would love to give his ‘younger self’ advice, but I think he knows that he might not take it. He remembers being very head-strong back then, so getting through to him about certain things might be near impossible, but he may try anyway.

He does like a challenge.))
