Shazam! #2, where adventure calls and we get some glimpses of kids’ bedrooms. I like little things in that first page like “Keep Calm and Call Batman” poster in Billy and Freddy’s room or the contrast between Pedro and Eugene’s halves of the room. And Darla apparently has ALL THE PLUSHIES.
Also in the issue - Doctor Shivana and Mr. Mind dicking around and it being funnier than it had any right to be, albeit unintentionally. I mean it’s supposed to be dark when they murder a doctor to use his tongue for dark magic, right? But the fact that they did it by GOING TO THE DOCTOR’S OFFICE IN BROAD DAYLIGHT WHILE CARRYING A HUGE MAGIC BOOK makes it just so hilarious in its audacity.
Also, I don’t hate Mr. Mind’s new origin. Sure, nothing will beat a caterpillar from Venus who decided to conquer the world after finding out his favorite character from a radio show is a puppet but honestly, a “talking bookworm who became pure evil by eating dozens of magical books” has its charm.
