Everything Reminds Me of You
My life was innocent before my heart was broken; there were no trap doors, no hidden metaphors, no condemning connotations lying in wait for me. A starry sky was plainly beautiful, black coffee was something my dad drank, white roses pure and clean, green simply a color, California a paradise of Asian food and coastal beaches, physics, something I couldn’t make up my mind about. Okay, so that…
captive
her heart laid captive in the hands of someone else. it kept her awake at night and unfocused during the day. she longed to take it back and make her claim but it was no longer hers to save. his soul laid captive in the hands of someone else. he tossed and turned at night and stared at her picture at dawn. he longed for her heart and her soul not knowing that it had been his all along. secret…

41 / 100 days of productivity
I’ve been feeling kind of worn out this week. I’ve been working so hard this summer, but I’m still not on track to finish the project I’m a part of any time soon, and it was actually supposed to be finished last summer. I can feel myself entering a cycle where I’m working slowly because I’m feeling overwhelmed, and then feeling more overwhelmed because I’m working too slowly. Sorry for the negativity but imo it’s important to be open and honest about struggles in productivity.
sending positive vibes!
A bird does not sing because it has an answer. It sings because it has a song., Chinese Proverb.
Whenever I get down or frustrated, it helps me to go back to my original goals and to see where my work stems from. Everything we do in life is informed by some sort of passion, no matter how small. This passion doesn’t die because of things taking too long or something not going right, but the work can bury it until you don’t remember it at all. When I encounter struggles in productivity, I make sure to take a break and go back into the right headspace. Why am I doing this? Why do I “ sing “ ?
abandoned churches fill me with an emotion i can’t quite place.
A cup of Earl Grey, a plum, and a moment of relaxation with the 12th century Chronicle of the Abbey of St. Edmunds (pub. Oxford World Classics) by Jocelin of Brakelond and translated from the Latin by Diana Greenway and Jane Sayers.
Love spending the weekends at home just relaxing and recharging for the new week ahead.

More Mesopotamian history! This time, Nebuchadnezzer, who’s name I’ve been pronouncing “Nebuchadrezzer” for a loooong time. Also worked on some German today! So that’s fun. A lil bit of French too. Hit my nano word count goal for the day but kinda feel like I’m slowing down w/ it. Writers block is creeping up again,,,,,,,I can just FEEL it.
