A couple of years ago when I was still on a tumblr break I made this candle holder statue for my sister.

It is the Three Muses; Melody (with her hands raised in song), Practice (at work braiding her hair), and Memory (laying and reflecting in front of the flame).

I got this tattoo from Kati Green at Blue Ox tattoo yesterday.

It is a list, so that the notes I’m always writing on my arm are organized and pretty.

It is also a ruler. The lines are spaced at 1/2 inch, with the dots on the right showing 1/4 in and the ones on the left showing 1 cm. The compass rose is an angle finder.

The flowers are my favorite ones from my grandma’s garden when I was growing up. Gravenstein apple blossoms, marigolds, and wisteria.

I love it and am so excited for when it is heal enough to safely use.

It’s the beginning of fire season, so I’m going to share this memory and some advice I learned the hard way.

In fall 2020 the wild fires on the west coast were so bad that you could barely see 15 feet at times. Where I lived the aqi hit 590 at one point. We could not evacuate and we had no insulation in our house.

The gas masks saved us. Me and my roommates taped our windows shut and wore respirators in the house for a week. I did this sketch of them while we were watching the muppet movie one night.

Most of you will have experience a fire or smoke storm at some point, this is not going away. Smoke inhalation can have permanent and long term effects.

Get a respirator mask, and get replacement filters for organic and biological material. They can be as cheep as $12, and even if you don’t think you’re at risk, it is not something you want to find out you need afterwards. If you can afford to, get extras. Someone you know might need it.

I made this journal for @sixgills birthday in about 4 hours on Sunday.

Made entirely from second had and repurposed crafting supplies, including leather, covid mask elastic, part of an ikea shelf, and 4 types of paper.

There was little to no planing involved, this was pure vibes.

I went on a picnic at a park with my partner today and did some colored pencil sketching of the light in the trees. Colored pencil on watercolor paper was trying.

I’ve been thinking about this idea of a mermaid and an Astronaut or alien encounter. Still working on it, but here’s where it’s at and a few progress shots.
