Cooking madness. I made spinach and ricotta cookies and bacon and peanut butter pupcakes for Xiu Xiu today. For 15 minutes she was searching for a safe place to eat it carrying the cake in her mouth. And this dog of mine of course decided to eat her pupcake on our bed. Hello itchy crumbs!

Inktober Day Two! I got my first dog in June, why didn’t anyone ever tell me I was a dog person? I should have gotten a dog ages ago. His name is Beau and he’s the greatest <3.

Kratos is just so active and happy to train while the girls are so lazy and don’t like to train unless it’s stuff they already know.

I thought Boxers were supposed to be active and Mastiffs lazy. My dogs apparently didn’t read that book.

I submitted a few of my favorite Ash and Roy photos to a border collie calendar project for the rescue where we got them, the wonderful Midatlantic Border Collie Rescue in Chestertown, Maryland. Many of them have been featured on Collie in the Creek at some point. All of them capture a bit of what I love about our collies- their intensity, intelligence, speed, goofiness, and constant friendship. They are the best sidekicks for our country life here on Maryland’s Eastern Shore- boundless energy in the field, and companionable lap warmers once the sun goes down.
