Gift art for a friend. Genshin has some really detailed character designs … especially when you study them to draw. This was based off his official character art, which has some … differences to the in-game model.
The hardest part for some reason was his jawline. Dude has serious baby face and I kept wanting to sharpen it …
I almost scrapped this once. At multiple points I thought it was never going to be finished. But here it is.
He gives me pirate vibes, just a random character, though.
I wondered what color magic might look like. No idea what effect it would have, though. I just like drawing colorful things.

Current WIP. It’s in a precarious state of balance where I both feel like I’ve overworked it, but backing down feels underworked. X__x Ugh. Is there a law of physics for that?
I’m not really a mermaid person these days (was obsessed for a bit when I was 4-5ish tho), so I don’t draw them much. Still, without an idea for anything to work on I thought I’d do one in honor of Mermay. And to challenge myself to draw something I wouldn’t normally.
This is all you’re going to get from me, though XD.
Finally finished these. Not sure I don’t like the older versions I did better, but sometimes you just need to move on to something else.
Ended up taking a long break to work on cleaning, but I am making slow progress on the KH busts. (Sora and Kairi are actually colored, but I may do some further revisions after I lay all three finished side by side.)
Got a start on sketches for new versions of the destiny trio drawings I did a while ago. You can see those here if you want to compare? I have added some things.
These still need tweaking but it’s a start. And hey, Riku actually reads as himself this time around ... though Kairi looks more like Ashe from FF12 or Rem from Type-0 I think X___x
Edit: I made a few small composition changes, so I decided to just edit this post with the tweaked sketches.
Last two for the copic challenge. It always feels a bit weird to finish something like this, I’ll have to figure out what to work on next.
