Gen, Shiro, Bob. Not quite a fix-it as a potential explanation for S8 Shiro. 

Sheith angst

Summary: 

Every deed has its consequence, and every life saved its price. Shiro could never have known it would be this. 

Somewhere, Keith is screaming.

Am kind of amused that the sheith narrative was so strong that instead of being: “Shiro’s done being Keith’s mentor so now theyre just acquaintances”

The message we got was “Keith is now pining forever in unrequited love for Shiro who doesn’t care about him and would rather marry a rando.” 

Like. They tried to turn this boat around, but it’s gone too far. :’D :”D :’D

This is S8 in a nutshell. 

(yes even the sheith-related part)

Meantime, I may shop other places to be aside tumblr, but pillowfort is going to take a bit to take off, too, so I’ll figure some stuff out.

Hi, yes, I’d like to introduce you to my Keitor lovechild son.

Dimael is a dark elf from King’s Raid, a mobile game I play casually for the sole reason that I saw his and Pavel’s designs.

Aside from the obvious physical similarities to both Lotor and Keith, he’s also a thorny-outside soft-inside orphan with a single-minded complex towards protecting his special person (his sister).

A demonic parasitic plant was embedded in his shoulder, causing him increasingly tortuous pain and gradual loss of control for ten years as he fought to protect his country in a far-flung war campaign.

Just as the plant was about to take his life, he was forced to watch the squad he was leading die in front of his eyes and returned to find out that not only did his country abandon him and his squad for dead, they had also sacrificed his sister to appease the demons.

Betrayed by his country, his best friend who sold his sister, and weighed by the guilt of his squad’s and sister’s deaths, he snapped and killed his best friend and fellow elves in disdain and vengeance.

Basically, Keith with Lotor’s race-specific arrogance and tragic hairtrigger insanity. He’s a leader respected for his conviction and he pushed through every hardship and immense pain for his special person. He’s a little gruff and arrogant  but 100% soft and tender the moment he sees his sister. No matter what evil things his special person might do, he never gives up on them.

Huh, put that way he has a little bit of Shiro in him, too. Sheitor lovechild?

I love him, so there is fic. This is just the background.

(Note: Fair warning on the game- there’s more improbable boobs than cute boys by a large margin.)

Hey folks, I feel a bit weird that there seems to be so much going on and I’ve been too busy to look into it much, but I figure it can’t hurt to put my two cents in, supposing, this rumored 'leak’ is true.

No matter what happens, Shiro and Keith are the two people with the deepest and most intimate, well developed relationship in the show. 

We got our ‘win’ in S6 when Keith told Shiro “I love you”. And nothing can take that away. How many OTPs do you have that say those words explicitly, on screen? How many have theme songs named after them? Even canon het relationships don’t always actually explicitly toss those three little words out and the fact we did get them is in itself magical. 

Maybe it’s because i normally ship rare pairs, so I’ve never let what is canon or not restrict me, but the way I ship has a lot more to do with “these two people are really interesting/good together and I want more of that”. And if you need a reason to ship Sheith, there’s literally dozens that are based simply and irrevocably on who they are as character sand who they are to eachother. They are two people who understand eachother the most, who care about eachother the most. And none of that will ever be invalid no matter what we get in S8. 

Honestly, if Shiro did get married to someone else? I feel sorry for them. Not only would they have to compete with Shiro’s dreams, his duty, and his obligations-- they’d also never have the deep bond he has with Keith and everything they’ve been through. You don’t just save someone as many times as it takes and not leave an impression. 

Similarly, Keith has always put Shiro over every single darn thing, the mission, Voltron, the universe. The only thing at this point that would make him pause is Krolia. And Kosmo. And Keith knows both of them can handle themselves better than Shiro. :’)

To celebrate the birthday of the best boy, Keef, its hard to pick just one, so I’ve finally tried to polish this fic after writing most of it up in S5ish and added a little bonus.

T, Main Game storyline, Keith transfers to a new school, triggering a well-worn plotline.  All he wants to do is keep his head down and get through the school year. But that’s not easy when you keep running into the most eligible guys in school. It’s only worse when they all have the same face and nobody else seems to notice.

FD Side B Tomorrow in Autumn

T, AU timeline, an epilogue that might never happen wherein Keith enjoys a birthday with his 5 favorite people. 

Both of these are Shiro/Keith, with a smol hint of Lotor/Keith.

@kimori1024 Yeah! Things are a lot better now and the ‘arguments’ these fandom terrorists spin has worn even more incredibly thin and it’s pretty clear from the start staff and now even official merch have never found anything wrong with the ship. :’D In fact, they actively encourage it!
