Hii hi thank you for the ask!!
Five things that make me happy in no particular order, can I answerr this without getting rambly, hMM!
1. Long walks outside
Huge fan of walking. If I could walk all day long, I would. Unfortunately, sciatica is a bitch. But those rare days where I have energy and time and the conditions are just right, ough, it really hits the spot. I love walking during the winter, when it’s too cold for the general public to want to be outside, so you get to be completely alone and socially isolated as you roam the quiet and peaceful streets blanketed with snow. Walking lets my mind fit its pieces comfortably back in place after they’ve been jumbled and strewn about all day. Walking gives me motivation to write—I do most of my writing while pacing madly around my house or around my backyard. I feel like I just think better when I do.
2. Cooking
So this is much more of a recent development. When I was a kid, my mother did teach me to cook, but I always hated it and dreaded every lesson. I thought I hated cooking as a whole, but I slowly learned over time that it wasn’t the cooking part, it was the being around my mother part. When I started cooking on my own, I discovered I had a budding passion for it. I always wanted to try new things and take a crack at new recipes. When me and my sisters bought ourselves a house, we were finally free, and I finally felt comfortable where I was at. I started cooking something new every week, and now I delight in finding recipes and getting groceries and cooking for half the evening with a drink in my hand. My sisters love my food, and so do my friends and other family. I feel like I’m really getting the hang of it. I mean it’s definitely going well if I get excited to eat my own food, right? I’m usually my own worst critic. But I’ve learned so much and I’ve improved so much I can’t help but look forward to cooking every time I do!
3. Art and Writing
Do I need to explain this one?
4. Kitties!!!
5. Cartoons
I really really really like cartoons. Animation in general is so beautiful. Like I hate watching movies and shows with live actors for a lot of reasons (face blindness cough cough) so I’m basically allergic to anything that isn’t animated. Not complaining though, there is SO much to explore in the animation medium.
