I think Adaine and Aelwyn are so compelling but what I find compelling about them is the stuff no one is talking about. I find it really compelling how Aelwyn was the single person Adaine hated most in the world and didn't even blink before sending her to federal prison. I find it compelling that Aelwyn never backed away from the hate, fuelled it even, while being of the honest opinion that her little sister was the best diviner in the entire world. How disguised it was in season one because of Adaine's anxiety disorder and bad socialisation, but she's just as mean and as big of a true bitch as Aelwyn is, but she is still somehow flying under the radar with it. How their character art in season one was almost identical to each other when they clashed the most, but now, per season three, that they've been allowed to grow into their own people they've started to differ drastically in appearances but grown closer in how they behave

zac deciding that k2 had no clue what was happening and didn't know who any of these people were is so fucking funny but also fitting. living a half-life full of confusion and sacrificing yourself reaching out to the goddess of holding your hand in the dark

it was played as a joke but

there's something genuinely harrowing about gorgug and kristen on the deck of the ship, pelted by rain, swarmed by dragons, these two teenagers looking at each other with wide eyes trying to bury the fear down deep, and

operation slippery puppet is obviously THE move from battle of the brands but even though this didn't work out it's probably my 2nd favourite moment from that fight. zac's desperate "what are you doing?!", lou understanding what's happening but nobody hearing him because they're just so utterly confused, brennan's anguished SCREAM of "NOOOOO!", beardsley emily and murph's perfect comedic one-by-one rundown, brennan's face. 10/10 no notes

On the TaleSpire board, Margaret's mini turns away from Brutus, hanging off the edge of the arena, and starts to move away. Barry is also standing at the edge next to Brutus.

Ally: Then Call to the Guards, and I wanna-

Brennan [shocked, disbelieving]: NOOOO!

Ally [through crosstalk, as Brennan continues to make despairing noises]: -Call at Barry. And if you attack, now you're attacking Barry instead of me, and if you miss, he gets an immediate attack on the corn.

Everyone at the table looks at Brennan. Brennan is frozen, staring at Ally in disbelief.

Emily: And you're rolling with disadvantage 'cause of the net.

Murph [casually]: And I'm gonna go ahead and do a Shove attack.

The cast bursts into cackling laughter as Brennan remains frozen; Emily claps her hands together, while Ally mimes having one hand broken behind their back as they scream-laugh. End ID]
