Ding ding ding, correct! Words do not, in fact, have any meaning! Language as we like to define is by nature a construct! Meanings change over time, and as long as an idea is understood, communication is successful. I know you like to think words exist in a vacuum, as if one word’s definition is the law of the universe and can never be changed, but that is in fact the stupidest thing imaginable. So yes, gender can be anything, because gender has nothing to do with neurology or biology.

Saying that being trans requires some type of diagnosis or dysphoria, something visible or ‘quantifiable’, is inherently transphobic and homophobic. Queerness (of any kind) has been harkened to mental illness in western society for a century, because that way it was easy to persecute. It’s easy to put people in a box and say they’re wrong if they’re just ‘sick’. By being a transmed, you are doing that to your own community. (Also blah blah blah the inherent racism of ignoring other cultures’ gender identities that celebrate these differences, the Native American two-spirit people for an easy example)
