Any long, dark-ish fics in which Kara never becomes Supergirl, still Kryptonian, yet she is not the sunshine of joy as she is in the show?

I have been looking for ages for supercorp fics were Kara is still kryptonian, never becomes supergirl or even a reporter, has a lot of trauma that she sort of actively deals with (unlike the show which never dealt with Kara’s trauma) and is a little, or a lot jaded, as a result.

I have gone back pages and pages in AO3 but can’t seem to find something similar. I think years ago there was the one fic but can’t remember or find it .. I prefer long fics so if there’s any recommendations, I welcome them!

SPOILERS Rewatching trying to find any ‘signs’ of Mariana’s feelings. Way too subtle and far in between

So I have been on the lookout for anything to validate the subpar “I love you too” Mariana tossed at Ana in the finale. I think they tried to give us an in-denial-affraid-she’ll-get-rejected-by-Ana-again-and-get-her-heart-broken Mariana this season, and that’s why she focused so heavily on her relationship with Ferran - because she was sure of his feelings for her and he was the safe option. The only official indication we have of Mariana’s feelings is her talk with Elena after she slept with Ana regarding her feelings for Ferran. Elena says something along the lines of “I hope you are not trying to convince yourself instead of me.”

Some I might be reaching for but I think were also useless clues:

-Maybe Mariana pulling away from Ana’s touch so painfully obvious in front of the investors after their business trip.

-Mariana immediately texting Ferran after Ana suggested they had the talk over dinner, just the two of them. Looking for pretexts for not showing up.

-Mariana also the day after pushing the talk back after Ana told her they could sit down with the kids that night, saying she’d would be having dinner with her mom (knowing she had already agreed to have dinner with Ferran) so kinda using her encounters with Ferran as a pretext to not have the convo. But still, that’s reaching. They screwed up by not giving us Mariana’s perspective of things and journey regarding her supposed feelings for Ana...

Sigh...

Season 3  should have been at least 15-20 episodes. It was too rushed - Spoilers

Ugh... mixed feelings about the season... Loved it, sort of.

Ana must be protected at all costs. She is just the best at being a hot mess. Jealous and territorial Ana is my fave. We all know her feelings for Mariana have been very strong since season 2 (season 1 somewhat, but Jealous and TerritorialAna emerged in season 2) and finally this season she gets to realize just why she feels the way she does. Oh, the best.

BUT...They crammed too much in into 10 measly episodes. There was so much going on it feel disconnected and disjointed.

We missed out on Mariana’s feelings completely. She was hot and cold all of the season, and by the end, I can’t truly trust her feelings for Ana. We know she pined confusedly after Ana in the season 2, and then the male love interest was brought in.

By the end of Season 2, with that bloody kiss, I was so sure Mariana had gone “Ferran who?” because it was a fucking amazing kiss. But then, nobody talks about it. And then they don’t talk about the night they spend together. I had thought this season would have been Mariana freaking out because her feelings came back with a vengeance and she would be conflicted over her feelings for Ferran as well.

The issue with this show, I’ve found, is that you don’t know exactly how much time has passed, and so it seems (and I believe that’s how it is) that everyone falls in love in one day, and wants to move in together the next, and then the next day they fall out and fall in love with somebody else. So that’s why I can’t trust Mariana’s feelings for Ana if she was so readily willing to stay with Ferran and then move in with him despite the fact that they truly haven’t been together for that long.

We barely got any Ana/Mariana screen time. 

There’s so much they needed to talk about, and things they could have talked about like Ana’s hippie dad which I’m sure Mariana would have loved and teased her relentlessly about it.

Ferran got too much screen time for it to go nowhere really.

Marian was... too dismissive of Ana’s feelings overall, even pre-confession. They had promised no more lies and yet she puts everything in jeopardy to be with Ferran.

I am fine with all other stories going on because there was a lot going on for everyone BUT they should have had a longer season if they wanted to explore all of that. Which would have given us precious Ana/Mariana time and the both of them freaking out over their very not-fake feelings.

I don’t know if they thought giving us a pining Mariana in Season 2, would be enough for the Season 3 finale after giving us a pining Ana for all of the season, and they saw no need to show us Mariana’s whole journey with facing Ana’s feelings for her and her own feelings. The end just felt incredibly rushed.

Also, the season leaves me with so very few scenarios for any fanfiction. Honestly, at this point if I were to write something, I would dismiss most of the season because it was very disjointed.

Also, how awesome is Ceci with her Mom?

IMPORTANT - For the purposes of the main story I am writing and where I want to take it (as well as general iffiness about two clones getting it on)... Sarah and Rachel are NOT genetic identicals. They are clones, yes, but of two different LEDA projects and thus two separate clone types. Sarah is of course of the LEDA project we know, brunette, and Rachel, blonde, is part of a separate clone project within the LEDA project, not related at all to Sarah and Sestras.

I don’t get how this show literally has like less than a dozen fics, and even less than a half of that are femslash fics. 

This show meets so many tropes for femslash...

And I’m sure many more.
