Guys, if you don’t have enough money to donate or are unable to use your money internationally (like me), you can simply go to arab.org and click daily for free. Each click will send money (Lebanese Pound 1 per click. This organization is based in Lebanon and works with the UN) through ad revenues to UNRWA in Gaza. Besides Palestine, you can also support other causes in the Arab world for women, children, refugees, the environment, etc. Therefore, make sure to go to this site on each of your devices and click everyday.

(EDIT) You can also use different kinds of browsers on your devices to give more daily clicks. I've tried this with Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge on my PC. Now, I'm downloading Mozilla Firefox to click again.

(EDIT 2) Using the private mode of a browser after you use non-incognito browsing also allows you to click more in repetition. You don’t have to wait for a day to be over to click again.

Thinking a lot about asoiaf today so here's another thing I keep going back to

I like how the present timeline Hightowers are doing something their ancestors likely would have hated aka meddling with magic and other very weird, low-key creepy, low-key dangerous shit because Leyton Hightower and his daughter have been cooking something B I G in that tower for a whole decade and I can't wait to see what's this main dish. I'm thrilled AND scared tbh

And I say their ancestors would hate this because I believe in that theory about maesters and some Westerosi lords (especially the ones closer to the Citadel and the Faith like house Hightower) secretly and slowing taking away power from house Targaryen by gradually taking away the sources of magic in Westeros aka the dragons aka the Targaryen themselves, especially the women who could be potential wives to the kings. I don't know who elaborated this theory first, I watched a couple of videos on tiktok about it (cant remember who posted them 😔) and I like it

And now Hightowers and Citadel are doing very magic very dark very secret things again when the world is literally on the edge of a disaster due to the undead. Interesting. No idea if it will be good or not but it's surely interesting

the base of the High Tower is absolutely some Great Empire of the Dawn fort made of Dragonfire-fused stone so like, hell yeah!

I never thought of this👀 Then this would mean it was built long before the Andals and the Faith of the Seven came to Westeros right? An ancient magic even older than Valyrian magic. Wow

you gotta check out David Lightbringer's series on the Great Empire of the Dawn and how they may or may not be linked to the Long Night. His other stuff gets into the symbolism of some characters and how they parallel in-universe mythical figures, like how there are Azor Ahai figures and Nissa Nissas all across the cast of characters

I already know the theory that connects Rhaenyra vs Aegon II to the Amethyst Empress vs Bloodstone Emperor as reasons for why the first Long Night and the upcoming second one happened, does this theory come from his series?

Not entirely sure! He does cite older theories as jumping off points for some of his own. But when I got to a part of ACoK where they mention the figurines Xaro gives Dany having little gemstone eyes I was like "YOOOOOO HOLD ON"

NO WAY THAT'S JUST COINCIDENCE!!!!!! And since Martin also said a second Dance of Dragons is going to happen that could kickstart again a Long Night. I see Faegon as new potential Bloodstone Emperor against Dany/Amethyst Empress

Anyway Qarth chapters felt like a creepy sunny dream. Loved them so much

I'm guessing Euron since he's being set up to be this Big Bad trying to harness powers that are most likely going to be beyond his control. I'm betting Faegon will somehow wash up on the Quiet Isle when everything falls apart

I hope that boy won't have an end too cruel (also wasnt it where Rhaegar's rubies ended up? Would be bittes if he ends up there too), so yeah it's better if the Hightowers throw whatever they're making in their tower against Euron the madman. Really one of the scariest guys ever, sometimes I have a hard time picking who's the worst between him and the undead lmao

i just can't believe that oda fucking create sanji, a stereotypical ladies man who simps to an embarrassing degree for women while having his hackles comically raised around everyone he perceives as a man - and most notably butting heads with the more obvious ~manly man~ of the crew. haha, classic anime running gag, the kind that gets obnoxious at times but still makes you laugh.

AND THEN, like a billion chapters later, motherfucker steeples his fingers and goes "soooooooo... what makes a person Like That?"

and the answer is that he grew up in fucking Toxic Masculinity, The Kingdom. the answer is that he was always Different, in a way other guys instinctively perceived as weak, and that made him the target of visceral scorn and violence. the answer is that he was sensitive, sweet, caring, nurturing - feminine-coded traits which are only valued by patriarchy insofar that they're performed by women in service of men. the answer is that in a kingdom comprised almost entirely by violent men, the only ones who were ever kind to him, the only safety he ever had, were a girl and a woman.

so cooking is for women and servants, it makes you less of a man. only women will ever really value you for your passions and dreams. women are also actively hurt by the way the world works, they are unsafe unless they comply with men's violence, and you have to protect them.

(men will always know what you are, and they will hurt you if you let them.)

and even after he leaves... at baratie he is cherished and respected, but even that is an extremely masculine environment. we don't talk about our feelings, we don't let our guard down, the only love is tough love. when he tries to express his artistry and express himself through his cooking, rather than just filling orders and making money, he gets mocked.

so here is a man who will not raise a hand to a woman, because he rejects the masculinity he was raised with and refuses to become yet another man subjecting women to violence. he is desperate for women's attention and affection because it's SAFE, it's the only kind he can trust. other men are potential threats and must be treated as such. he must at all times be snarky, tough, Not Feminine, because to be perceived otherwise is to be powerless, to be hurt.

like y'all. the queer coding of it all? the overtly feminist themes? the active rejection of toxic masculinity and the way it's shown to be directly tied to imperialism? what the fuck.

I'm curious. Reblog this if you know how to cook

I don’t even care if it’s macaroni, ramen or those little bowls you stick in the microwave. Please, I need reassurance that most of the population on tumblr WOULDN’T STARVE TO DEATH if their parents couldn’t fix them food or they couldn’t go out to eat.
