At The End (Open)
Whatever they found, Atem would either set off, if the trap wasn’t too dangerous, or assist Akefia in avoiding. There weren’t many left and eventually they even found the bodies of the men who had abandoned Akefia down there.
It took them a good day to exit the tombs.
“Huh.” He scoffed, kicking a couple of the men aside carelessly. “Knew you guys were dumb, but seriously? You couldn’t even get your way back out?”
He was relieved to see the light of day when they got out, covering his eyes and blinking as they were surrounded by hot desert, heat bearing down. His stomach rumbled, as though suddenly aware he now had freer access to find food.
“Lets go find the nearest city... food first, then we figure out the way home.” An obvious plan, but stating it made it seem real. He’d never felt so happy. A real shot at life...
