Time to word vomit on the evolution of c!dream in SAD-ist animatics

So first we have warriors

This guy!

He’s just some dude, maybe a little threatening but not too scary.

And (most importantly probably) you can see his face and its normal. He’s hurt, he’s injured

He’s human.

This is gonna change as we go down.

So next we have The Fall dream.

Still just some dude, but he’s more reclused. He’s covering one eye and he’s a lot more mysterious. He’s got a thing on his nose in the first shot, but other than that he’s perfectly fine.

In the second shit he looks a lot more threatening and a lot less like “just some dude” than he did in warriors.

And then we have Dawn Of the 16th Dream.

This Dream is loving his control.

Look at this man’s face. He’s just been through a war and he’s only got a couple of cuts on his face.

And his mask hasn’t been taken off like it was in the past two animatics it’s been blown off.

Like to pieces. This is the start of his decent into villainy in my opinion.

AND THEN THERES HOG HUNT

HOOOO BOY LOOK AT THIS

THIS IS A CRYPTID!

THE SHADOW ON HIS MASK AND THE FACT THAT THE ONLY THING WE SEE OF HIM IN THIS IS ANIMATIC THAT LOOKS SPECIFICALLY HUMAN HIS ARM.

This is the first animatic where Dream doesnt show his face.

And note the placement in the smp timeline.

Hog hunt takes place during the exile arc.

Aka after the whole “I don’t give a fuck about spirit” speech.

This is when Dream starts being a really terrifying villain and it shows in the animatic.

And THEN there’s the new animatic.

His eyes are a vibrant green

His whole theme is luminescent green.

There is something not quite right about this dream.

He is tangled in his own web of attachments as shown in the third screenshot. He is neck deep in his own shitty situation and it’s gonna start tripping him soon.

In conclusion, SAD-ist does an awesome job of documenting c!dream’s transition from threatening dude into full on cryptid thing.
