Soul |Ryomen Sukuna X Reader| HC

Pairing: Ryomen Sukuna X Fem!Reader

Summary: Sukuna meets the reincarnation of the only person he's ever loved.

Warnings: Implications of sex? Reincarnation. Fear and anxiety.

- - - - -

  • "Rin..."
  • It came out like word vomit before Yuuji could even process what he was saying.
  • You looked at him, confused. Your name wasn't Rin and you'd never met this man before. Who did he think you were?
  • He slapped a hand over his mouth. Sukuna had forced his way to the surface just to ramble out a name? In all these years as his vessel, he'd never done something so trivial.
  • Sensing the flicker of cursed energy, Gojo, Megumi, and Nobara prepared themselves. It'd been a while since Sukuna had tried anything. Some sort of pact he'd formed with Yuuji kept him mostly content, although they weren't sure what it entailed.
  • It happened in the blink of an eye; Sukuna had taken over and stood directly in front of you, one hand flat on your chest and the other on your face.
  • "Rin... I could never forget the feel of your soul."
  • Your heartbeat fastened. An overwhelming feeling of fear fell onto you, rendering you unable to move.
  • What would you be able to do anyway? He's a God, and you had no abilities outside of actually seeing the damn things.
  • You had no idea what he was talking about. Your name isn't Rin and you'd never had any kind of encounter with either men until just now.
  • Megumi tried to move forward, but Gojo stuck an arm out in front of him. Something was off about the way Sukuna was acting, and he didn't think it was threatening.
  • It would be best to see how this played out instead of possibly starting a war that was never meant to begin in the first place.
  • "What are you doing? We can't let her-"
  • "Hold on."
  • They watched as Sukuna looked you up and down, inspecting your robes, hair, and face with a certain softness. His face was still hard and his movements still confident, but there was just that feeling.
  • "You look so different, but thats to be expected. Are you fairing well?"
  • You swallowed hard. His delicate touch did nothing to soothe your nerves. If anything, it only confused you more. He was tucking your hair behind your ear, giving you some sort of smile, and yet you feared he was going to rip your heart right out of your body.
  • "Um..."
  • Really, how were you supposed to respond? What sort of answer was he expecting? What were the consequences if you were to answer incorrectly?
  • Were you meant to comment on how you supposedly looked different? Was it your features? Your clothes? Your haircut?
  • "I'm scared."
  • Sukuna paused. You were horrified to have answered wrong, and now you could only hope he wouldn't kill you.
  • But he did something unexpected; he laughed. A thick, hardy chuckle that made your blood run cold.
  • Was this the end? How pitiful. Slain on a random Tuesday afternoon all because you wanted to meet up with an old friend. That's not a proper death.
  • "A thousand years and countless reincarnations, yet you still know how to make me laugh."
  • He leaned forward and pressed his lips to your forehead. You only had a moment to panic before a lifetime of memories filled your mind.
  • You remember the time before modern civilization when you relied on hunting in the woods and crops from the neighbor's farm.
  • You remembered your parents, siblings, friends, and other villagers. You remember your home on the outskirts of town just against the forest line.
  • But most importantly, you remember Sukuna.
  • You remember meeting him as a human, and then several years later as a curse. You faced off against him, and although you couldn't beat him in the end, you'd come close enough to earn his respect.
  • He stood above you, two arms crossed, one on his hip, and the other outstretched to offer you a hand up.
  • Who were you to refuse such a gesture from the king of curses?
  • He allowed you to join his temple alongside other followers of his with the condition you devoted yourself to him entirely. The offer was presented as a choice, but the alternative was death, so any reservations you had were null.
  • You wanted to go with him anyway, but that's beside the point.
  • From the very beginning of your journey with him, it was made clear to everyone that you were 'special' and not to be bothered.
  • This fact didn't hold up too well with some of the others, but what were they to do about it? Argue with Sukuna? Tell him they were more deserving of his attention? How pathetic.
  • He allowed you privileges that would only ever be known to you, like dining with him or joining him on trips. These small pleasantries became grand ones, like sharing his bed and allowing him to claim you.
  • Your relationship was equal from then on. You were not just a follower of his anymore. He was just as devoted to you as you are to him, and he ensured you knew it.
  • He'd always make sure to tell you how special you were, that he was taking his time with you and granting you pleasure. How you were his favorite, and no one else could even compare. How others had not been so lucky in the past.
  • He'd escort you to and from the hot springs, have humans bring you flowers and jewelry, and allow you to see the most vulnerable aspects of him.
  • He promised his love for you would never die, and here he is a millennia later proving true to his words.
  • Once the unrelenting onslaught of memories subsided, your hands met his- one still on your chest feeling your heartbeat, and the other slid partway into your hair- and all you could do was appreciate his presence.
  • You stared up at him. His face was different, but that intense look in his eyes was all the proof you needed that he was still the same man from all those years ago.
  • Tears beaded up in your eyes and quickly dripped down your cheeks. Crying had never been your thing in the past, but you didn't care to stuff the feelings down. Such a reunion was an occasion enough.
  • "My love," you whispered.
  • He leaned his forehead down to meet yours.
  • "My Queen."

Another Gale Romance headcanon: Wedding Edition

How would Gale be at wedding planning?

I feel as though he would get so excited that he’d have full involvement on everything, but whenever Tav expresses their wants, he’d break down into his “So long as it’s with you, I’d be fine without such ceremony.”

Which makes Tav melt but also it frustrates the hell out of them because once he’s given the chance he will take over planning again.

Because it’s Gale. And he quite literally planned out your first night together, as well as your future date night in his tower, so gods know the kind of man he’d be during his wedding.

More elaborate headcanons below….

『♡』 "the first initial kiss being a simple peck, then they immediately go back in for a stronger, more passionate one." + gale dekarios

"Are you sure you're alright?"

Gale remembers the way you threw him out of the way, your shoulder intercepting the end of a club that should have hit him. The yellow-brown of your healing bruises peeking out from underneath fresh bandages leaves a bitter taste in his mouth.

You take Gale's hand in your own, squeezing gently. "I mean, I don't feel great, but I'm going to be alright." Better me than you, you think. These bruises would no doubt linger for longer on Gale. "Shadowheart healed the worst of it, don't worry."

Gale's gaze grows intense. "How could I not worry about you when you throw yourself in front of everyone to protect them?" When you mean more to me than any of them? Than myself?

"Gale." You tug him down to you, making him kneel in front of the stool you rested on. Your hand comes up to his cheek and you stroke your thumb across his cheekbone, soothing. "The battle is won, we're all fine. Is that not enough?"

"I would much rather you be unharmed." He relaxes under your touch. "I suppose I shall have to pay better attention in future battles. I don't want any more of your wounds to come from me not being as dexterous as I was in my youth."

You let out a short laugh. "Gale, I'm surprised you weren't more injured by me tossing you out of the way." You tease. "I think that makes us about even, hm?"

"Oh, on the contrary, I quite enjoyed being manhandled like that by you... It was quite... thrilling." Gale's eyes sparkle with mischief, heart hammering in his chest. Your hand on his cheek suddenly feels heavier.

The air grows thick with something at his admission. Gale licks his lips, he can't, he knows he shouldn't kiss you. But gods, does he want to.

He tells himself once again that he can't start something he knows will only leave you hurting; Gale knew his story was soon to be over. He couldn't bear the thought of leaving you in his wake.

But it's you who leans forward, who silences any doubts in his mind. As you always did. You kiss him, quickly, sweetly, before pulling back. Gale follows you with his body, falling forward into your arms from his spot on the floor.

You start to apologize, but then Gale presses his lips to yours, frantic and needy. Like he had dreamed himself doing so many times over. His hand balls into the front of your tunic, grounding, as he tilts his head up to have better access to your mouth. If he was out of practice, you surely don't mind, as you kiss him back with just as much fervor, arms draping themselves around his neck.

Your teeth bite at his bottom lip, and he shivers. Gale's free hand drops down to your knee, squeezing, before he pulls himself out of your embrace.

Instantly, he finds himself wanting again. That feeling was ever persistent when he was around you. But he knows he's gone too far for now; he'll think on this more when he's alone in his bed later tonight. Skin flushed, still catching his breath, he takes your knuckles into his hand and kisses them reverently.

You place your hand against his chest. You can feel the orb pulsing with warmth through his shirt; like it intended to devour you. You find that you don't care if it did, if only for one more moment like this with Gale.

[I wanted this to be hot, but Gale wanted to be sentimental?]

Gale is always busy. Busy teaching, reading, cooking, arguing with Tara or a colleague, experimenting, researching, writing, reading some more, running errands for his mother (he was out anyway so he might as well stop by that spice store, and are you sure you don't need anything, my love?), tinkering with anything around the tower he thinks might help you feel more at home or more comfortable, and let us not forget: reading constantly. So much reading, sometimes while he's pacing and gesturing his way through a thought, sometimes when you're in bed together and you're dozing off (just want to finish this poem, love) or just waking up (this new researcher's theorems on transplanar mechanics are fascinating). While Morena and Tara assure you he was always like this, sometimes you have the sense he's trying to make up for that year lost to the Orb.

(Then, of course, there's all the delightful things he does to you in bed and other places around the tower, and that he's learning to let you do to him.)

And when he's still, there's almost always an air of activity about him. When he's asleep--on the now-rare occasions when you jump awake in the middle of the night, you can almost see him thinking his way through a dream. His fingers twitch as if casting spells. Sometimes he'll even talk, slurred incantations or sharp disagreements with someone he's dreaming about, or softer oh there you are, my heart--where have you been? And you know he's found you in his dreamscape.

So it's quite unexpected when you find yourselves on the tower balcony on a hot Waterdeep day and Gale is only being.

Granted, he's being distracting, with his light summer shirt undone, breeze tugging the collar even more open so you can fully appreciate the faint sheen of sweat across his chest and the streaks of it down his neck. There's one drop at his temple, just where his hair's swept back, that you would very much like to lick away for him. Gale's eyes are at half-mast as he tilts his head back to soak up the light and oh yes, that's a lovely sight and the heat it conjures puts the sun to shame--just the delight of following that delicate line from the hinge of his jaw down his neck, the run of it across his chest, down the sweep of his belly, the sharp angle of his hip, the muscled curve of his thigh. All of him is slow and sleepy, on display for you and you alone. The book he's forgotten about is on the table next to him.

You briefly entertain the thought of climbing on top of him, but no--this is something, you think, that's rare and with its own magic, as if a god has, momentarily, frozen all the power and energy of a storm into a moment of perfect stillness.

"Hm?" Gale mumbles, stirring gently under your regard. He blinks his way to wakefulness, or something close to it. "What is it, my love? Did you need something?"

"No." Your heart is already too full--how could it take any more? "Here."

You show him what you mean as you settle next to him. Gale makes a soft, blurry sound but curls into you, head on your shoulder, his torso supported by yours. It's maybe too hot for cuddling, but you don't mind--and judging by how Gale goes liquid against you as you stroke his sweaty temple, his hair, the delicious stubble along his cheek, Gale doesn't mind either.

Okay, this one almost brought me to tears.

Because this is what real life — real love — is.

It’s busy — sometimes too busy — and you get so caught up in doing things that sometimes your partner involuntarily takes second place behind all the activities that make up the fabric of your life.

But that doesn’t mean you love them any less. You still make time for them when it really matters. You carve stolen moments for each other amidst the madness of everyday life. A tender kiss, a slow dance, a little act of perfectly ordinary kindness that suddenly takes on a whole new meaning because you are doing it for each other.

And of course there is the intimacy. Even when the hot, lust-filled days of your nascent relationship are a thing of the past, you still feel the same excitement, the same butterflies in your stomach, whenever he touches you. You still melt under the heat of his gaze, even though you know he’s looked at you a million times. He still takes your breath away, reading your body like a favourite book that he has committed to memory, awakening sensations no-one else could ever come close to giving you.

And then, more frequently than anything else, there are those moments when you just are. Those are the moments you enjoy the most — simply existing together, side by side with the man you adore. No need to do anything, no need to say a word, because even the silence between you is charged with all the love that you share. After all, a bond like yours hardly needs words to express it. It turns out sometimes it doesn’t need actions, either.

gale's reaction to mystra telling him to blow himself up is obviously heartbreaking but on the other hand it is deeply DEEPLY hilarious when Gale, Learned professor of renown, is like "if there was another way to defeat the absolute don't you think the goddess of magic would have thought of it" and the band of badly socialized half-feral murder children he's running with just go "well maybe the goddess of magic is stupid, gale"

Love letters - day 9

Gale’s love letter to you
  • other chapters on Ao3

Dearly beloved,

I desperately crave you during this time. I know you will be due back to me by the time Lover’s Day arrives but you and I both know I’ve always yearned for you more than that.

Frankly if it was up to me, I would dedicate and entire month or year if I could to you, but even that would be a pale comparison for you.

Yes I know you’re probably rolling your lovely eyes in exasperation to my rambles, but you could blame me really? You gave me yourself and everything good that came along with your heart.

love,

Your ever admiring, faithful mage

Adult Cheat Sheet:

Once you’ve looked over all those cool links, I have some general advice for you on how you can have some sort of support system going for you:

Reasons to move out of home

You may decide to leave home for many different reasons, including:

  • wishing to live independently
  • location difficulties – for example, the need to move closer to university
  • conflict with your parents
  • being asked to leave by your parents.

Issues to consider when moving out of home

It’s common to be a little unsure when you make a decision like leaving home. You may choose to move, but find that you face problems you didn’t anticipate, such as:

  • Unreadiness – you may find you are not quite ready to handle all the responsibilities.
  • Money worries – bills including rent, utilities like gas and electricity and the cost of groceries may catch you by surprise, especially if you are used to your parents providing for everything. Debt may become an issue.
  • Flatmate problems – issues such as paying bills on time, sharing housework equally, friends who never pay board, but stay anyway, and lifestyle incompatibilities (such as a non-drug-user flatting with a drug user) may result in hostilities and arguments.

Your parents may be worried

Think about how your parents may be feeling and talk with them if they are worried about you. Most parents want their children to be happy and independent, but they might be concerned about a lot of different things. For example:

  • They may worry that you are not ready.
  • They may be sad because they will miss you.
  • They may think you shouldn’t leave home until you are married or have bought a house.
  • They may be concerned about the people you have chosen to live with.

Reassure your parents that you will keep in touch and visit regularly. Try to leave on a positive note. Hopefully, they are happy about your plans and support your decision.

Tips for a successful move

Tips include:

  • Don’t make a rash decision – consider the situation carefully. Are you ready to live independently? Do you make enough money to support yourself? Are you moving out for the right reasons?
  • Draw up a realistic budget – don’t forget to include ‘hidden’ expenses such as the property’s security deposit or bond (usually four weeks’ rent), connection fees for utilities, and home and contents insurance.
  • Communicate – avoid misunderstandings, hostilities and arguments by talking openly and respectfully about your concerns with flatmates and parents. Make sure you’re open to their point of view too – getting along is a two-way street.
  • Keep in touch – talk to your parents about regular home visits: for example, having Sunday night dinner together every week.
  • Work out acceptable behaviour – if your parents don’t like your flatmate(s), find out why. It is usually the behaviour rather than the person that causes offence (for example, swearing or smoking). Out of respect for your parents, ask your flatmate(s) to be on their best behaviour when your parents visit and do the same for them.
  • Ask for help – if things are becoming difficult, don’t be too proud to ask your parents for help. They have a lot of life experience.

If your family home does not provide support

Not everyone who leaves home can return home or ask their parents for help in times of trouble. If you have been thrown out of home or left home to escape abuse or conflict, you may be too young or unprepared to cope.

If you are a fostered child, you will have to leave the state-care system when you turn 18, but you may not be ready to make the sudden transition to independence.

If you need support, help is available from a range of community and government organisations. Assistance includes emergency accommodation and food vouchers. If you can’t call your parents or foster parents, call one of the associations below for information, advice and assistance.

Where to get help

  • Your doctor
  • Kids Helpline Tel. 1800 55 1800
  • Lifeline Tel. 13 11 44
  • Home Ground Services Tel. 1800 048 325
  • Relationships Australia Tel. 1300 364 277
  • Centrelink Crisis or Special Help Tel. 13 28 50
  • Tenants Union of Victoria Tel. (03) 9416 2577

Things to remember

  • Try to solve any problems before you leave home. Don’t leave because of a fight or other family difficulty if you can possibly avoid it.
  • Draw up a realistic budget that includes ‘hidden’ expenses, such as bond, connection fees for utilities, and home and contents insurance.
  • Remember that you can get help from a range of community and government organizations.

foods that will poison cats:

  1. alcohol
  2. chocolate
  3. caffeine
  4. dairy products (adults turn lactose intolerant)
  5. fat trimmings, raw meat, eggs, fish
  6. grapes and raisins
  7. onions and garlic
  8. tuna (when not made for cats)
  9. xylitol (artificial sweetener)

if you have a cat please reblog this

Even if you don’t have a cat please reblog this for all your followers who may have their own precious little baby.

I HAD NO IDEA ABOUT TUNA OMFG

If I remember rightly it’s the trace elements of mercury in canned tuna that is toxic to them. Their kidneys can’t filter it out like human kidneys can.

Avatar
ghirahim

ok im gonna break this down a bit because some of these are BLATANTLY untrue and it kills me every time i see this.

alcohol: not very good for humans, either, but alcohol effects pets the same way it effects humans: targeting the brain and the liver. the issue? it takes way less to kill your cat than it does a human. you weigh, on average, at least 100 pounds (or 10x) more than your cat does. 3 teaspoons of liquour could kill your cat. don’t do it. alcohol WILL poison your cat.

chocolate:  theobromine (and to a lesser degree, caffeine) is the issue with this one. humans? we can break this down in our bodies. cats, dogs, birds, ferrets? they can’t. it usually takes a pretty big amount of theobromine to cause a pet to actually die, though. it’s present in cocoa, so the higher % of cocoa in a chocolate, the less needs to be ingested to cause serious, life-threatening effects. baking chocolate has a high concentration of theobromine and 1 square can kill a cat or small dog. white chocolate is a low risk, on the other hand. chocolate CAN poison your cat, especially DARK and BAKING chocolate.

caffeine: same story as alcohol: not that great for humans either, causes similar effects as in humans… just quicker and with less caffeine ingested. elevated heartrate, seizures, etc. can be seen. dogs and cats are more sensitive to the effects than humans are. caffeine WILL poison your cat.

dairy: cats are lactose intolerant and so their bodies cannot properly break it down– much like how we can break down theobromine and cats/dogs can’t. however, it’s not going to poison your cat, just give them diarrhea and other gastrointestinal upset. dairy WILL NOT poison your cat, but will cause gastrointestinal upset and diarrhea, so it is strongly recommended to not give dairy products to your pets.

fat trimmings: fat trimmings are just fat. if you feed fat to your cats, they will become fat and/or it will increase the level of lipids in the blood, leading to diseases and complications like chronic pancreatitis, which can be fatal. fat trimmings WILL NOT poison your cat, but will lead to disease that can be fatal, so it is strongly recommended to not feed fat trimmings to any pets.

raw meat: cats can eat raw meat. cats are obligate carnivores. cats are designed to only eat meat, and raw meat is not of serious risk to them. disease carried in raw meat? not a problem when you are a cat who has evolved over millions of years to eat raw meat. i hate hearing “cats can’t eat raw meat!” from people with outdoor cats. you realise your cats are eating raw lizard and bird, right? raw meat has more nutrients than cooked meat (which we eat veggies & fruits to compensate for– cats can’t digest these) and, obviously, there are some diseases and bacteria that cats aren’t immune to but cats are less likely to eat rotten meat than dogs are, anyway. treat the meat like you treat human meat and it’s totally fine. cats are DESIGNED TO EAT AND DIGEST RAW MEAT! IT’S PERFECTLY FINE TO FEED YOUR CAT RAW MEAT, but make sure that the meat is in-date and properly stored/cared for. rotten or spoiled meat CAN lead to disease and poisoning, but the same goes for 90% of the animal population!

eggs: its ok to feed your cat eggs. im not even sure why this is a question. raw eggs rarely carry salmonella and even humans rarely contract salmonella from infected eggs. your average cat will never contract salmonella from raw eggs, only in an immuno-compromised cat would this ever be an issue. cats can safely eat raw and cooked eggs, as salmonella is pretty much only a concern in an immuno-compromised cat in the first place.

fish: see raw meat above. fish, however, is a bit of an exception because of higher levels of mercury & low levels of taurine and differing balances of phosphate and calcium mean that it’s not a sustainable diet for cats and could lead to mercury poisoning or bone disease if it is the only protein given. when given ~1 time a week and with varied proteins there is no issue. again, cats are DESIGNED TO EAT AND DIGEST FISH AND OTHER MEATS! however, previous warnings about storing fish correctly still applies, and proteins should be varied due to fish having different levels of phosphorous, calcium, and taurine and mercury content. a primary diet of fish CAN lead to bone disease or mercury poisoning in extreme cases.

grapes and raisins: admittedly, this one is a bit of a wild card. some pets eat raisins/grapes without an issue, but in others, these can cause renal failure and death rapidly. we still don’t know why. animals with prior kidney issues are more likely to be effected by grape/raisin toxicity, and cats are more likely to have kidney issues due to many cats not getting adequate moisture in their diet. grapes and raisins MAY lead to poisoning in some cats and dogs, especially those with pre-existing kidney conditions.

onions and garlic: yes! all members of the allium genus (shallots, scallions, leeks, etc. are included) contain thiosulphate which, when ingested by cats and dogs, can lead to a serious condition in the blood known as hemolytic anemia. basically: their red blood cells burst. this can be fatal and a small amount of onion/garlic/etc. is needed to cause clinically significant issues. onions, garlic, and other members of the allium genus CAN and WILL poison your pet in even small amounts.

tuna: see fish above. canned tuna tends to be soaked in oil which leads to the same issues as fat trimmings in increasing lipid count in the blood. sashimi quality tuna will also have higher concentration of mercury and shouldn’t be consumed more than occasionally in the cat’s diet. canned tuna in oil is often too fatty and leads to the same issues as eating fat trimmings, however, tuna steak/sashimi/etc. quality tuna is the same as other fish: occasional inclusion in the diet is fine!

xylitol: relatively small quantities of this (an artificial sweetener) will cause a sudden drop in blood sugar in dogs, which can lead to comas, seizures, or death. many times, if they are not rushed to the hospital immediately, they will die, and even then, they may suffer permanent liver damage. however… cats are not adversely affected, and typically aren’t attracted to foods w/xylitol in it in the first place. xylitol is NOT likely to poison your cat, but small amounts can KILL your dog, moreso than chocolate!

Please take your time reading this, I think it’s important for everyone to know it especially for the ones that own a cat. Thanks to @ghirahim for correcting the information.
