harsh at first, like "why is this button here, and this one here, etc", but in the end sooooo much better. everything is held in a well designed program, no need to download an extra program for texturing, rendering, etc. You can do modeling and rigging at the same time, it's amazing! Also the community is active and ready to answer any of your questions (especially if you come from maya, i've often been on the blenderheld reddit asking "how do u do x in blender" and in 30m you have an answer.
The downside is that it's not as powerfull, and when it freezes and shutsdown you have no idea why. Also it's fur looks amazing but you can't use it on cloth for some reason?
And this is very personal to my art, but i knew Maya of by heart, therefor i knew how to make it bug and create glitchy art - i have yet to discover that part in blender (but it's probably possible)
I'm in the french animation industry and blender is slowly creeping in (it's free!) but i don't think it can yet replace maya in the cgi industry, like i doubt you can animate 500 orcs running down a mountain. but... it's getting there :>
