It makes no sense to Aaron that there's no one to be seen in his living room and kitchen, because he knows Spencer is home from the presence of books strewn on the couch right next to the abandoned, open messenger bag. This is the final chapter! Or at least, it's the last chapter of the first story in this universe. Will there be more? Yes. A sequel from Spencer's point of view is in the works. But... I've signed up for the Criminal Minds Kink Bingo 2024, so I'll be filling my squares first. Teaser Aaron blinks at his changed surroundings, feeling groggy and uneasy. How come he's sitting up? Shivering, he frowns at the sky of fluffy white clouds blown in from across the Atlantic Ocean. That which has shut out the sun. They are a startling sign of him missing time since he'd received the quickening of the man he'd killed. So much energy! Yet all it manages to do is leave him feeling unsettled. Eager to get up and away from this concrete world… to go somewhere warm, soft and most of all safe. So he can curl up into it. Into Spencer, whose hands are holding onto his bruised sword hand as if touch alone can heal it. Well, maybe it does? His heart skips a beat now. Yeah. This is what he'd fought and killed for. Here we are... the action packed chapter 6! Teaser The late morning sun almost blinds Aaron when he steps onto the roof, closing the door behind him. Silently so… since the hairs on the nape of his neck are standing on edge. Someone is here! He reaches behind himself, touching the hilt of his trusted, holstered katana secreted away underneath his suit jacket out of habit and necessity. Keeping his hand at the ready to reveal it and protect himself, he eyes up his surroundings, paying extra attention to any dark spot where his challenger may hide. Like the lift shafts and air ducts. Or the higher up roof of the left flank of the hotel building below them. Yeah, they may be using higher ground… but then the long shadows too provide vantage points since the contrast with the sunlight is near painful today. Here we go... this is chapter 5. Teaser It's been a while since Aaron has felt this alive. Refreshed from the shower, sure, but feeling sore and used at the same time. Sated. Whole. Comforted by Spencer being near… taking his turn at washing up after their overheated encounter. Yeah, Aaron can feel all of it within his body still. There too are bruises in the shape of fingers on his hips to proof none of it was a dream. Glancing at the abused sheets, Aaron blushes then grins over the reality of yesterday and this morning once more. How does he get to have Spencer? Chapter 3 is up! Teaser At last a sense of calm falls over Aaron. Peace almost. A sense of belonging and of pause from the day he's had. For here? In this so anonymous hotel room he's allowed to wrap Spencer up in his arms as they face each other. To lie side by side and hold him close against his chest. To feel him breathe in and out, unhindered, as if nothing was ever wrong. As if Spencer hadn't died… and broken off a piece of Aaron's so battered heart. Maybe a tear of relief spills out of his very soul, but he ignores it in favour of curling his fingers into the knitted vest to hold within his beloved.
