Well Ladies, Gentlemen, and fellow Horsethieves

I'm afraid I have to announce that this is my final post on tumblr.

Quite frankly, I'm in deep with a lot of people in money. I tried to get through college but the money ran out.

I owe an excess of $10,000.00. I have literally been on the run for the past several weeks, mostly hitchhiking. After today, I ditch this laptop and get a new one. The week after next, some money should be coming through, but I have been far too paranoid to draw any attention to myself other than that.

I apologize for any inconvenience, deeply and humbly. Unfortunately, I have no power to make this right, so I apologize for any problems I have caused. At this time, if I could select a few "predecessors" to fulfill the functions that I filled, I would suggest following boneheadsketchworks and bother him every now and then to start doing classpect. For everything else, I would suggest krazieleylines and buttercandles.

Go follow them. This blog will remain up. I will never post anything here again.

It's been a good run. Here's hoping I don't end up in prison.

State of the Whale

Alright, I haven't been very active or productive, and for that I apologize. What happened was a severe bout of apathy, anxiety, compounded by money problems and starting a new job.

So here's how I'm going to deal with this: I'm going to take a two-week hiatus from posting on Tumblr. I'm going to focus on commissions and get them done, with a large bout of them on my return. I plan to hit the ten commissions I have on my plate (about 6 of them are one pagers) and then hit the contest winners (I promise I haven't forgotten).

So I'll be very inactive for two weeks (I'll check back on messages, but anon's going off. 

I'm really sorry, but this is the best way for me to get caught up on what I need to do.

DON't KNOW WHAT YER TALKING ABOUT.

While this is definitely consistent with canon events, I'm going to have disagree upon several bases. 

First of all, this "uses their x to push forward" could apply to just about every number of Classes when they healthy, including even a Bard. The desire of moving forward via your Aspect is a large part of your quest, learning to use what makes you you to get things done.

Furthermore, at least two examples of the Heir have not done this. Equius' association with Void and his fear that it might ultimately mean he WAS nothing caused him to latch onto an erroneous idea of reality (the caste system) and embrace it, which inhibited his growth and ultimately defeated him. Plus, Mituna's relationship with Doom ultimately ended with him losing of it and burning himself out.

Ultimately a "change/invite change in" idea is much more in line with the ideas behind Homestuck, as viewing the Aspect as a simple driving force is overly simplistic, applies to a vast number of classes, and does not line up with canon events in total.

Also, Rage is far more than simply fear. Gamzee's canonically described "destruction through fear" involves anger, focus, determination, and fear. His destruction of emotions did more than encourage them not to be afraid: he also stopped people from being angry, from focusing intently on ideas, and from examining concepts.

When it comes down to it, Hope is the leap of faith necessary for all ideas for reality. We see it in philosophy, religion, science, experimentation. Rage, is then the removal of that leap. Rage says "we need evidence to prove this true" or "that idea doesn't matter right now". Therefore, Rage is analysis, focus, and narrowing of possibilities, and any emotion that makes you do so. The reason we don't see this in the comic is because A) Gamzee is deluded B) his job as "Destroyer of Rage" leaves him with little ability to utilize this function of his Aspect.

Thank you for the Classpect! I rather enjoy the ability to take somebody down a peg reexamine and reexert my beliefs in a factual standard.
