The desktop theme for this blog has a big box in the upper right corner that blocks view of some posts. It says that a picture from tinypic is no longer available. Please remove it.

Ah! Thanks for letting me know. This blog is pretty much dead, unfortunately, but I’ll still take care of that. Thank you!

Hmmm okay I’m not actually sure what that pic is? Like where it is in the theme and how to get rid of it?? Might be a part of the theme itself so I might just have to change the whole theme.....I’ll figure it out

Hey I just made a server for Copinglink and I was wondering if I could maybe get a promo if I tagged you in my promo post?

Sorry it took me a hot second to reply (I seriously need more mods on here, too depressed to run it by myself lmao), but yes, I would be happy to, if you see this and are still interested!

Hiya. Are there any copinglink/c-link/c'link blogs (or otherkin blogs that welcome c'linkers) that you recommend? Thanks!

Tbh I don’t really know of any, and that’s actually why I made this one! But if there are any more out there, promo yourself on this post!

I sometimes post about c-linking/otherlinking and other sorts of voluntarily-built identities of the sort and am more than friendly to the idea, even if this isn’t a dedicated blog or anything?

Could you explain copinglink vs alters for me? I frequently take on actions of a character I relate to depending on the moment, and it feels more ingrained than just acting.

Alters are entirely separate people who share the same body. You cannot be an alter, you can have an alter as a result of trauma and mental illness. Copinglinks are identities that a person has, they’re characters that you identify as. It sounds to me like you have copinglinks. If you had alters, it wouldn’t be you doing something, it would be someone else taking control of your body and doing it.

I don’t have DID or OSDD, so I don’t know how to describe what it feels like to have alters, but I do know that they are separate people! Hope that helps!

Hi! I'm new to the alterhuman community. I'm just now starting my personal copinglink blog, and I was wondering if you have any advice for a newcomer? I'd like to make an introduction post talking about my linktypes, but I'm not sure what all I should include in it. Thank you for any help! :)

First of, welcome! We’re happy to have you :D

Include as much as you’re comfortable with! Some people like to go into some detail about why they develouped their link and what it helps them with, but for others that can be uncomfortable, and it isn’t at all necessary. I find it’s helpful to link to a definition of copinglink somewhere on your blog if you mention it, so people don’t keep sending you asks about it. (You can link to this page of mine if you want!)

Just put everything you’d probably put in an intro post (ex. name, pronouns, age if you want, DNI stuff if you have any, etc.), write what your linktypes are (or as many as you want to share), and if you have kintypes, feel free to include those as well!

I'm in a weird position? My identities/kintypes/links/whatevers are used for coping, but it's not really a voluntary thing like with copinglink? I'm not sure exactly what label to use because I can't really control any of this and I didn't choose to do this but it's still happening?

That would be copingkin! I have a few copingkintypes that I know developed as coping mechanisms, but that I didn’t intentionally develop.

Do you know if there are any alternate labels for 'copinglink'? I have a lot of issues with the person who created the term and I don't feel comfortable using a term created by them. I was wondering if you might know if there are any synonyms or similar labels someone who's uncomfortable with 'copinglink' can use? Sorry if this is weird or annoying or bad! I didn't know who else to ask.

It’s okay! I don’t happen to know of any, no, besides c-link, which is just a shortened version. I can try to think about an alternate term and coin one, though...or if anyone else does they can tag me and I’ll reblog it!

Hi!! I'm new to this whole thing so I was hoping you could help me understand something, is it okay for c'linkers to reblog from kin blogs and posts with kin tags? I understand that the distinction between the two needs to be clear, but is it okay to reblog from them as a c'linker? Especially bc it's basically impossible to find any fellow copinglinkers in the tag? I appreciate any help and thank you for your time 💕💫

From what I’ve seen, kin blogs are usually fine with copinglinkers reblogging them, and are generally inclusive and friendly towards copinglinkers! Though if I request something from a kin blog, I always specify that I’m a copinglinker and ask if that’s okay (personally, I’ve never been turned down for it).

As for kin tags, I’d say it’s better to stick to ones that apply to you. You could use alterhuman, as c-linking is a form of alterhumanity, but posting in the kin tags might be considered spamming tags. I think some exceptions might be if you’re looking for people from your source (like a kin call, but not quite kin).

Hi so like I want to be copinglink but I don't know how? Like if I'm getting upset or something how do I "be" my character?

Avatar

“Shifts” are what its called when you kind of “are” a character; when they’re the identity that’s the most major/important/most “you” at the moment.

There’s a lot of different ways to trigger shifts intentionally! Looking at pictures of my copinglink or watching the show helps me the most. You could also make a playlist of songs that remind you of them.

If you have any friends who are copinglink or kin with anyone from the same source, talking to them might help, too! You can ask them to call you that character’s name for a while, if you’re comfortable with that.

Replies are okay but please do/nt re/b/log

Hmmm, it’s kind of weird that Prohyas is still my icon and everything on this blog. He’s still a copinglink, but I haven’t watched the show or shifted him in forever!

I have a lot of coping kins now...But i doubt myself. I’ve never meant to misidentify anything or lie, so please no one get mad at me. But I worry that some of my “kins” were more chosen by myself; things that I wanted to be and confirmed for that reason. I question so many kintypes nowadays, and I confirm them impulsively because it makes me feel better, which I know is shitty. I have memories for a lot of them, but even then...I’m just paranoid that I’m amking them up :/
