#31 Back In Black - AC/DC
The phone buzzing on the nightstand woke you.
Flipping it over you notice the time - 3:50 am
You sit up and rub your eyes yawning seeing his name on the screen
Your shoulders drop, knowing something happened if he’s texting you this late.
y/n: Hey handsome. Yeah, I’m up...how’s everything?
Three dots appear dancing on the screen, then pause, then dots again, then nothing. She waits.
y/n: “No, I’m alone.” You wait watching those stupid dots dance acoss the bottom.
D: “Was just passing through, mind if I stop by?”
A smirk crosses your lips, ‘just passing by’ meant he was literally parked outside, just out of view if you were to go to the window to look for him.
y/n: “keys above the door”
A few minutes later you could hear the lock turning. The sound of heavy boots being kicked off to the floor followed by shuffling down the hall.
When he finally walks into the room you can almost feel all of the emotion, the pain and suffering rolling off him in waves. He walks over, stopping next to the bed to rid himself of his jeans and t-shirt before slowly crawling into the bed beside you.
Neither of you speak, the look he gives you tells you everything and nothing all at once. He curls up around you, arms wrapping you up and pulling you impossibly close to him like he’s afraid you will disappear. Finally you hear his breathing even out, his heartbeat strong and steady. You close your eyes and drift off, knowing he will wake you before long.
Standing in the kitchen she sips her hot cup of coffee as she watches him lace up his boots. Waking up with him always puts a smile on your face. It always starts with kisses up your neck, across your jaw until he reaches your lips. Deepening the kiss as you wake up, his tongue sliding in as his hands start to explore the curve of your hips until he moves on top of caging you in beneath him. It always starts just like that.
He stands up and walks over, a soft look on his face as he leans in with a soft slow kiss.
“I gotta head out sweetheart, I’m sorry” he utters softly, eyes closing as he leans his forehead against yours.
“Uhuh, call me if you need anything” you say as you run your hand through his hair.
He opens his eyes and smiles. “I always do.”
As you watch him slide back into the driver seat you can see the change radiating from him, his armour is intact and the warrior, the hero, is back.
As he starts the car you hear the engine roar as he pulls out of the driveway, radio cranked up high enough to wake the neighborhood as AC/DC’s Back In Black fills the air.
