I've said this before, but Nintendo are definitely not going to release Mother 3 in the west. The logistics alone of fully localizing an old game, using development techniques that aren't used anymore are impractical. Not to mention all the brand unfriendly things that Mother 3 has, including gender hijinks, explicit drug use, and suicide.

Mother 3's English fan translation is easily accessible on PC and even on hacked 3DS. Plus the fact that Nintendo won't release it adds a mystique to it, right? It's this secret thing you have to hear about through Smash or word of mouth and seek out for yourself. Everyone who wants to play it has already played it or can play it right now, and people who are waiting for an official release to play it are going to be waiting forever. If you haven't played it yet and want to, take this post, plus the upcoming Japanese re-release as your reason to, because if you're not willing to pirate Mother 3, you're not ready to hear what Mother 3 has to say.

In all my years in this website, and I've been here a long time, I can't recall a single instance of a callout post leading to actual restitution for the victims of the alleged harm the person was accused of. Even in cases where the accusations were true. Even in cases where there was legitimate harm done to another person.

Remember the sixpencee child slave thing? What happened there, exactly? Was the kid freed? No? They were just run off the website? OK so what good exactly did that do?

Remember the bone stealing witch? What exactly did that witchhunt accomplish? The person got arrested, oh that's great, the american justice system surely rectified the situation

And again, those are instances where the accusations were true and involved real substantive harm to another person. We used to joke on here how callout posts were shit like "receipts below: [several paragraphs of petty fandom drama] [three paragraphs of petty interpersonal drama involving cheating on partners or stealing food out of the fridge or something] [fabricated evidence that the person is responsible for the murder of JonBenét Ramsey]"

And that was back in the 2010s. The meta has changed. Callouts used to be a tool people used to point out actual harm a person had done, rarely, and more commonly were used as a means of bullying somebody over petty drama. Nowadays they're used to manufacture outrage and harassment against marginalized populations. They are a weapon bigots use to turn us against each other. A few manufactured accusations here, some out of context or clipped screenshots there, and people who should be standing in solidarity with each other against white supremacy, patriarchy, cisheteronormativity, are instead devouring each other.

It's sinister as shit, dude, and people will still share these accusations without a second thought. So, why? What is the point? What's the best case scenario here? Raising "awareness?" what the fuck is that supposed to accomplish? Will we get the oh-so-trustworthy authorities involved? Are we hoping for an arrest? A conviction? Throwing a queer or poc person in prison so they can be abused and assaulted and humiliated behind bars? Is that who we are?

Callouts and the like don't serve any real good in the world. At a macro scale they divide us when we should be standing together, and at a micro scale they result in deeply traumatic never-ending harassment and threats and doxxing and worse to a person who almost definitely does not deserve it. And again, for what? A sense of "justice?" this is not justice. This is retribution. It is punishment.

It's fucking cop behavior, and I'm not gonna participate in it.

Bluemaxima’s Flashpoint is distributing illegal childporn to people without their knowledge

Bluemaxima’s Flashpoint is a program for preserving flash games. Flashpoint comes in two main variations, the Ultimate edition and the Infinity edition. If you use Infinity you have to download the games from Flashpoint’s servers before you can play them. Ultimate comes with all the games already downloaded.

There is NO warning on the download page that the Ultimate version includes a large amount of simulated childporn (this can be accessed with the Infinity version too, but would need to be downloaded from the list of games before the files appear on a user’s computer).

The issue here isn’t just the fictional childporn (though distributing that to people on it’s own is also awful and illegal in most of the world, including the U.S.), it’s that at least one of the childporn games that comes with Flashpoint includes the voice of *an actual child* who was underage at the time of recording. A real child whose voice has been edited by a pedophile (Zone) to sound like she’s engaging in sex. The game is Toph Beifong Interactive Animation. Even if you believe “normal lolicon” content is legal in the U.S. (it isn’t), editing an actual child’s voice into your childporn animation definitely isn’t legal. There’s been cases of pedophiles getting in trouble for editing normal photos of kids into pornographic photos, there’s no reason to believe that editing a kid’s voice into simulated childporn would be legal. (For anyone who wants to defend Zone’s actions, would you allow him to record your own child and put them into a porno, so old men can jack off to your child’s voice? No sane parent would agree to this.)

To reiterate, everyone who has downloaded Flashpoint Ultimate has downloaded illegal simulated childporn that involves the voice of an actual child, and there is no warning about it on the Flashpoint website. Even in Infinity there’s a download link to this cp.

The thing that loli defenders always purposefully ignore is, how do they know the shit they jack off to isn’t just traced from actual cp or edited from real children’s voices? For all anyone knows Flashpoint might have loads of other porn animations involving real children.

Normal people in the Discord have brought up that they don’t want the illegal simulated cp shit included in Flashpoint, but they get shot down by the pro-pedophilia people who run the project.

Bluemaxima wants to preserve simulated childporn. Note that he resides in Australia where simulated childporn is explicitly illegal. He has also removed several games from Flashpoint before (such as Nitrome games) because he doesn’t want to get in trouble with the law due to piracy. So why is he willing to break the law when it comes to distributing simulated childporn, but draws the line at piracy? Aren’t Nitrome games also pArT oF hIsToRy?

Note that this blog is not bringing bad publicity onto an archival project. This is Bluemaxima bringing bad publicity onto the project himself, by being so desperate to keep simulated childporn that he breaks his own country’s laws in order to shove toddler rape games and similar shit into Flashpoint. He could easily have removed the simulated cp from Flashpoint, but he wanted it in there with no warning to people downloading the program.

The point about “preservation” is absolute bullshit since Flashpoint already deletes content and keeps it from being preserved for such simple reasons as the author requesting it.

Question why a man would respect copyright law, but be willing to break laws against simulated childporn? Maybe it has less to do with preservation, and more to do with what makes his dick hard?

Bonus creepiness, adults in the Flashpoint Discord advising a child (unless it’s a 20 year old with terrible spelling who still lives with his parents, which is unlikely) on how to download illegal porn games and hide them from his parents:

i taught programming to middle school kids last summer and I don't think you understand how bad it's getting.

a lot of these kids don't know what a "folder" is. some of them don't even know how to right click. I asked my class to put a folder on their desktop and half of the students did not know how. these are like, 11-13 year olds who's parents thought they were tech literate enough to sign them up for a programming class. most of them did not know how to add a bookmark on their browser. most of them could not touch type.

basic computer literacy is evaporating because everyone does everything on their phone now, but schools are getting rid of any computer classes because "all the kids are using computers all the time anyways!"

I hope they'll learn more as they get older but many of them wont. the divide between "basic user" and "advanced user" is quickly shifting towards knowing the most simple functions of a computer, and the more people who don't know how to correctly use their devices the easier it is to sell them shit they don't need.
