What’s worse is this supposedly will take place after volume 9. They seem to be bringing him back just to drag him through the mud again and some people fear he will have prosthetics from the fire so RT can further shit on that.

I didn't spot him him the trailer, but that's unsurprising considering they're clearly working to keep him a secret. There's a lot of "Someone is working with Kilg%re" lines tossed about. (Side-note: that was NOT the spelling I was expecting when I googled this guy's name alsdjfalsjdf.) But there's also an emphasis on how this ally is so much "smarter," so... yeah. It's Watts. Even if we didn't have the other info about his VA and such, the super smart character capable of adapting grimm to combat individual huntsmen/JL members is Watts. It wouldn't surprise me if he did have some sort of major, physical change now—robotics, burns, etc.—because regardless of the impossibility of keeping reveals under-wraps nowadays, you don't go out of your way to go through the motions of keeping a villain secret without there being some good payoff during the reveal itself. Watts isn't a big enough character for his mere existence to sell the moment and given that he'd presumably died in this chronological timeline... his return is likely to come with evidence of that horrific experience.

Yeah, about that...

Not only did they bring him back to life (to totally kill him again), he has a timeskip beard (so no virtual watts) and on top of that it looks like his entire body seems to be replaced with a mech (he might also be wearing a mech suit but idk that thigh gap looks too inhuman)
