Enjoy the idea that I had right before bed: an average day in the Muto-Kaiba household.

Seto: “Can I come in here, Oh my god!”

Mokuba whose dressed up little Jaden into a miniature version of Seto:

Jaden: “It’s like looking in a mirror!”

Seto exasperated with both of them: “No it isn’t Jaden.”

Jaden: “Who’s Jaden?”

Mokuba stirring the pot: “I already can’t tell who’s who.”

Seto more exasperated with Mokuba: “Take that stuff off.”

Jaden: “Yugi get in here and settle this!”

Seto: “Don’t call your dad Yugi.”

Yugi: “What? Oh, hey! Travel sized Seto. Aww”

Seto: “Yugi you’re encouraging him.”

Atem coming in and immediately playing along: “Excuse me I need- oh wow this is confusing.”

Seto now very annoyed with all of them: “No it’s not.”

Jaden: “You’re my family and I love you, but you’re terrible, all terrible.”

Seto: “I don’t say that.”

Mokuba: “Well that’s all you say.”

Yugi: “You doooo”

Atem nodding in agreement.

Thinking about Jaden doing such with either Yugi or Seto makes me want to cry lol

We are absolutely using this. If not in the Dark world then defiantly in the post cannon Tournament arc.

The DM crew and Gx crew have been separated into different pocket dimensions and are fighting to get the world back together.

Jaden and Yugi have been siting out. Both are shaken. Jaden just watched his whole family shatter like his friends did in the dark world. He’s spiraling. Yugi isn’t much better. Not until they can confirm that Jaden isn’t dead

In the final fight with the Big Bad (tbd) Jaden is battling in his dimension and Yugi is battling in his. They can see each other through a rift but they are each fighting their own battle.

Yugi gets hit hard. Like falls down and does t get up right away hard.

Jaden freaks out. He can’t get to his dad, they are in separate dimensions. He’s spent most of this adventure believing his family is dead and only recently found out their not. He can’t handle watching his dad die again. But there is nothing he can physically do to help.

So he just screams “daddy please get up. Please I can’t lose you. I still need you.”

And at this point Jaden has been away for a while. He started traveling the world right after Duel Academy and has been distant since the Dark World. He still loves his family but he’s having a hard time reaching out because of his guilt and Trauma. The DM cast have done their best to be there for him but he’s not letting anyone in.

So Yugi hearing his son break down and calling for him is a big deal. He’s not going to let his baby boy down. He gets back up into shaky feet and finishes the fight.

Once the two groups are back in the same dimension Jaden rushes his dad and the two collapse to the floor in relief. Someone else can handle the post saving the world crap. The father son duo is done for now thank you.

And you know what I like this so much you get a second version.
Where Yugi and Jaden are kidnapped post cannon and Seto, Atem, Jesse and the others are trying to gather them back
Maybe Seto has to duel the kidnapper. During the duel Yugi is being forced to watch like Téa in the Joey vs Yugi Duel but no one has seen Jaden yet.
Until Seto is about to win the duel with a direct attack. The enemy pulls out Jaden and uses the kid like a human shield. If Seto wants to attack he will have to blast Jaden. These are real attacks not holograms, he would be blasting Jaden with Vkue eyes at full force.
This is after the Dark world and all the craziness that happened there where Seto and Yugi argued about dueling the supreme king. But this isn’t the Supreme King this is his Jaden. His baby. Who is already hurt and looking at him with scared exhausted eyes.
Seto can’t attack.
Jaden freaks out. ‘You have to attack Oto-san. Please I can take it.”
The enemy’s turn comes and he’s able to get off a devastation blow to Seto. Yugi is crying out for him and Jaden is Sobbing. “Oto-san!!!”
Seto is still standing (playing emergency provisions or something to boost his life points at the last possible second.)
Jaden is begging him to attack. He can’t watch one of his parents die. But Seto could never hurt Jaden. An evil possessed Supreme King they need to knock sense into is one thing but his already injured baby is a no.
He’s trying to think something out, but there is no way out.
Until Atem gets there and gets Yugi out of harms way and Jesse arrives to tackle Jaden out of their enemies hold. As soon as Jaden and Jesse clear the blast zone Seto has an attack lined up and he’s blasting their enemy to kingdom come.
Afterwards Jaden is sobbing into him asking why he didn’t just attack. He’s fused with Yubel now he could have take it. (It still would have hurt but it would kill him he’d just be in agony)
Seto runs his hand through his boy’s hair and tell him he could never hurt him. (They need to get Jaden j to therapy because their boy is way to willing to take on pain and suffering for other people)

Okay I’ve been thinking about post cannon more and more.

About Jesse and Jaden traveling around Europe. As they do they visit different land marks and historical sites. But it’s the castles that are weird.

Every time they are near a castle Jaden keeps seeing these brightly dressed knights. They are obviously spirits, but something’s off about them. They are more transparent than other spirits. They don’t speak, not a sound. And they seemed to fade in and out of reality, like they are having difficulty maintaining their presence in this dimensions.

But the weirdest this is that Jesse can’t see them.

They’re both a little freaked out by this. Jesse has always been able to see spirits. How is he missing these?

It’s Neos and Yubel who solve the mystery. It’s an archetype that hasn’t been ‘created’ yet. The monster spirits are there but their cards are not. Since the cards don’t exist the monster spirits don’t have a connection to this world yet, so it’s much harder to for them to appear.

The same thing happened with the Neospacians when Jaden was young. Since he is the wielder of the Gentle Darkness he has a strong connection to the spirit world. He was able to see the Neospacians reaching out to him (they were always meant to be his deck) Once he drew their cards they were able to appear in full without flicker out of existence and could speak to Jaden. They had a tether to this world now in the form of their card.

With this they conclude:

  1. These monster spirits do not have cards yet
  2. They are reaching out to Jaden for a purpose. Whether to be ‘created’ or because they have a connection to him.
  3. Jesse can’t see them because they don’t have a tether yet. (With training Jesse will be able to see ‘incomplete’ archetypes as well. He will need to work for it unlike Jaden’s natural connection to the Gentle Darkness. Jesse has a strong connection to the spirit world it’s just not the same as the Supreme King you know?)

But Jaden makes a fourth realization. While the knights appear to him and try to approach. They always seem to be moving towards Jesse, not Jaden. The two boys are almost always together, but sometimes they split up. They’re looking at different things, a crowd split them, they were chasing something. It happens. But anytime they are near a castle, when Jaden meets up with Jesse one of those knights will be trailing him. Following Jesse’s steps, almost like it’s protecting him.

Year it’s flickering out of existence and can’t communicate but it’s there until Jaden meets back up with Jesse. The knight will look at him and disappear. It isn’t until the talk with Neos and Yubel that Jaden realizes they were nodding at him.

The only way to figure out what these spirits want is to communicate with them. And that can only be done if they have a card. Luckily Jaden’s art skills have improved since he was four. (If the Neospacians appeared form a sloppy clones drawling then I don’t think monster spirits care if their ‘card’ is professionally drawn or scribbled on a napkin.)

Jaden gets a sketchpad. (He’s pretty sure he’s going to be drawling more than one knight. And that this won’t be the last archetype he has to do this for)

The next time they are at a castle and one of the knights appears Jaden starts to draw it. The knight realizes with Jaden is doing and tries to stick around as long as possible. Once Jaden finishes the picture (it’s not professional by any means but it’s not awful art. I think he’d be good at it especially with practice) the connection snaps into place.

Gem Knight Crystal stands before them.

Jesse is now able to see the monster has its tether to their world is now in place. The gem knight kneels before both boys and explains.

He thanks his King (Jaden) for his attention and expresses the Gem Knights desire to serve their King and General again. He tilts his head up to look at Jesse when saying General.

Jesse’s taken aback. He already has a deck, his family, the Crystal Beast. He’s not looking for a new archetype.

The Gem Knights know that. They also know that the Crystal Beast are in constant danger from poachers because of their rarity. And that it is the honor of the Gem knights to serve under the Crystal Protector is service to their King.

Jaden and Jesse are baffled. They have no idea what is happening. Crystal Protector? Why are they calling Jesse that? Like it’s accurate but it feels like a title.

But Gen Knight Crystal makes his plea to find his brothers and sisters and Jaden and Jesse can’t say no to that. As they travel around Europe they collect more and more Gen knights. (Even going back to get the knights Jaden had already spotted)

Once Jaden them all drawn he send the sketches to Chumley and asked him if he can turn them into cards. Chumley can see spirits so he can listen to the Gem knights and get their cards just right.

The deck that gets sent back is shocking because it’s a perfect blend of Jesse and Jaden’s decks. The decks is a fusion deck. The gem knights work together just like Jaden’s hero’s to create stronger monsters.

They both use it but it becomes Jesse’s secondary Deck. While the Gem Knights are thrilled any time they get to work with Jaden they belong to and serve Jesse as protection to both the Crystal Beasts and Jaden.

(Yes I know there is a character in arc v that uses that deck but we’re not talking about her… it’s just to perfect of a deck not to belong to Jaden and Jesse)
