The story of how I’ve done sth stupid... so please donate to this lovely cancer charity!
Ok, I normally do not post personal things on the Sherlock Challenge tumblr (because it’s not what it’s for, duh), but this will be an exception, so please do not make me regret it by ignoring it :)
I just signed up to take part in Maggie’s Culture Crawl which is an amazing event - a night-walk cultural adventure raising money for Maggie’s so they can keep offering free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their families and friends. I always wanted to do it, and the death of my close family member (pancreatic cancer) in November finally gave me the push I needed.
So far so good, HOWEVER, I might have slighly misjudged how much ‘a 10 miles walk’ is lol. To be fair, my mind works in kilometers, but even then I had to pull out google maps and check. Having in mind that there will be places to visit along the way, this is gonna take ages and I will be half dead by the end of the night - I have an autoimmune disease which can cause tiredness, so imagine me doing all this after getting up at 6:30am and going there straight after 8 hours at work. Fun :)
Anyway, Maggie’s ask all participants to raise £150 for their lovely charity, which is where you can give me your helping hand! If you would be so kind and donate here it would make a massive difference to all the folk in need of support while they are going though some shitty times. And it would also make me not regret not realising what I’m getting myself into :D £150 is not an enormous amount of money, so even if you donate just £2 it means a lot! If you cannot donate, please reblog :)
And if you want to take part in the walk yourself, it takes place in 14 cities across UK on different dates between June and October 2019 - find your nearest one here!
