I've seen HCs where Chandelure doesn't like or is jealous of Ingo's ace in Hisui (Gliscor) but I think it would be really funny and cute if it was like. Love At First Sight. Chandelure sees this big hunk of a Gliscor, who also loves her trainer and is willing to do anything to keep him safe, and thinks "That's the one."

That is adorable and hilariously reminds of how single mothers are always ecstatic when they meet I guy who loves her kids like his own.

Episode 7 redraw featuring Tiredest Man Alive Yuri Petrov

This scene is great. Why is Wild Tiger here? Did Yuri ask for him? Or is this because of all the damage fines???

I think it’s both. Our boy Tiger is the perfect example of what NOT to do in regards to public property.

Also he’s silly enough that the kiddos aren’t bored out of their minds by such a serious subject.

There should be way more Polar Express AUs for Ingo and Emmet like c'mon.

Lots of trains around the world go and pick up a bunch of kids then all join up at the North Pole. Ingo and Emmet either both get their own train or share one. I'd like to say they both get their own train and Emmet picks up Rei and Ingo picks up Akari. Maybe Akari gets the first gift of Christmas and she asks Santa to leave a job opening for her so she can be a conductor like Mr. Ingo.

Ingo sobs when he finds out.

That is the cutest fucking thing and I want it to be a fanfic so bad.

Submas canon vs fanon

The entire time I have been in the Submas fandom I have seen a lot of confusion about what is canonical and what is a wide-spread fanon. Both in the sense of people thinking things were canon when they were not, and (more rarely) people thinking things were fanon when they were not. So I thought it might be useful to put together a little guide.

Of course, there is nothing wrong with using fanon. I use most of these headcannons in my own fics because I like them and canon is dumb anyway. (Note: pokemon is a huge sprawling mass and tends to contradict itself, and there have been changes across the various games/manga/anime)

All quotations are taken from bulbapidia.

Thanks Op, I needed this for fic writing purposes and this post made my life a whole lot easier.

It’s that time of year again where we wildly congratulate Kotetsu on his birthday, 14th August! 🐯 🎉

Hiroaki Hirata (Kotetsu’s seiyuu) shared art of the birthday boy from series’ main character Masakazu Katsura.

Whilst series’ animator, Keiya Nakano, also shares some past genga art of Kotetsu from promotional art work and from TIGER & BUNNY 2 that they’ve drawn

can white people stop boo-hooing about how they lost their favorite vacation spot because of the fires on maui? it’s vile. people lost their lives and their homes. no one gives a shit that your colonizing ass can’t go somewhere you were never welcome anyway

This AND if you’ve ever visited/vacationed in Hawái it’s time to pay up. If y’all love Hawái so much, show it by donating. Oh, and never go back. That native land has been EXPLOITED by vacationers and capitalism. The government is spending money and resources in order to house and feed tourists/visitors OVER sending help to the native people who NEED IT. Stop going to Hawái. It’s not your land.

Just wanted to add on to this a concrete example: a couple years ago the Hawaiian government implemented water rationing FOR LOCALS ONLY, while continuing to allow tourists to use as much water as they wanted for fancy hotels, spas, pools, and GOLF COURSES. This is obviously the exact opposite of how water shortages should be addressed. I don't even think many of the tourists had any idea that the water they used on vacation was literally being taken from the homes of indigenous people: many tourists think they are helping local economies. I would LOVE to visit Hawaii and see amazing Polynesian biomes and active volcanoes without a passport, but I have resigned myself to the fact that there is currently no ethical way for me to do so. Visiting Hawaii would take needed resources from the people who live there, and the tourism industrial complex would actively lie to me about it if I tried to travel there in an ethical or sustainable manner. The US has really plundered those amazing islands and done so much harm to them in so many ways. Native Hawaiians are begging tourists to stay away. So please take their demands seriously and enjoy Hawaii's amazing natural wonders through video instead of in person.

I never had trouble with spelling. It just comes naturally to me, words make sense, I never had to make an effort (if one doesn't count voraciously devouring books since age 6).

So, naturally, I became a language snob kid, who evolved into a language snob teenager.

One of the mistakes I made, and that I see many other people make, is to equate bad spelling with low intelligence, or lack of education. So often I've seen comments mocked for mixing your and you're or its and it's. (And the equivalent in French, which is the language I grew up with. People are ruthless with French.)

At the same time, many people I love have trouble with language, spelling, syntax, writing. I've witnessed how hard they worked and how hard they cried when work wasn't enough. It took me too many years to bring this compassion I had for my loved ones, to a larger empathy for people in general.

Two of the smartest people I've met can't spell at all. Neither can one the the most talented and kind person in my life. Neither can a colleague who brightens my days. If I manage to not judge their character by their spelling, I can do the same for everyone else.

(strangely, tumblr speak helped. typing in all lowercase, this lack of punctuation, rewriting the rules of grammar to suit a subculture-- i watched a language evolve in the span of a decade, and sometimes new words appear so fast that i miss their meaning if i don't log in for a week. it's fascinating.)

So, after being a language snob kid and teenager, I try to be a compassionate adult. Not everyone has a brain wired for letters, for reading, for classes and tests.

A language is, first and foremost, made for communication. If the goal is met and people can understand each other, you don't need anything else. Rules of language are there to establish a baseline so more people can opt in and find a common ground. Rules of language should not limit us, but help us.

I'm a writer, and when I hear people say words, I spell them in my mind. This is easy to me. But also, I'm a graphic designer, and I know communication is more important than the words it comes in.

So, be kind, and compassionate. Not everyone can spell, and that's okay.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but as a creator -

I am fine with "the audience" -

  • downloading my fics
  • printing my fics
  • copy/pasting or screenshotting my fics
  • sharing your saved copy of my fics with anyone else who might want them in the unlikely but never impossible case that my fics are no longer available on ao3
  • making a book of my fic(s) and running your fingers across the pages while lovingly whispering my precioussss
  • doing these things with anything I create for fandom, such as meta, headcanons, au nonsense like 'texts from the brodinsons,' etc

I am not fine with "the audience"

  • doing any of the above with the purpose/intent of plagiarizing my work or passing it off as their own in any capacity
  • feeding my work into ai for any reason whatsoever

Save the fandom things. Preserve the fandom things. Respect the fandom things.

Enjoy the fandom things.

More and more recently, I’ve begun to get some people coming to me asking for some clarification on LGBTQ stuff. When I was younger, I had to discover many basic identities and labels by myself, through research of various sources, or pieced together from disconnected blog posts.

In the year 2019 you’d think we’d have a kid-friendly website that describes all of this in simple terms but… I’ve yet to find one that isn’t primed for guardians/parents of LGBTQ parnets and prioratizes them instead of the LGBTQ kids themselves….

So I tried to make a quick graphic to organize everything!

Keep in mind - this is based on MY experience and the terminology I have grown up using. Everyone’s experiences may differ - and I tried to simplify in some places to make it easier to read. (For example… I didn’t really go into detail on non-binary identities… but I may make a seperate graphic for that someday because that’s its own box of pears.)

If you have feelings about this, feel free to go more in depth in the comments!
