Pride has come to Eorzea! It’s time to get together and celebrate the colors of our own Pride and Love. Because love is love and love wins!

The Love is Love Street Festival is a newer festival to celebrate the diversity of everyone no matter their creed. Bring your friends, bring your lovers and partners, family, and anyone else you can think of. We’ll have a colorful parade through the streets, performances with an array of songs to have you dancing and cheering the entire evening. Vendors with delectable foods, colorful and themed merchandise, games of all varieties that promise to keep you entertained throughout the night.

We are looking for vendors, performers, and people wanting to run game stalls. Or, if you have an idea of your own, feel free to join our discord and pitch us your idea. All are welcome!

This is a meet-and-greet style event where we will host games, eat great food, and otherwise just get together and enjoy a fintastic time at the beach! While a rather simple event, it’s designed around not being too overwhelming for new and old roleplayers, alike! We hope to see you there.

Free Food! This event’s food is completely sponsored by the chefs & establishments associated with the Midnight Pearl. Have no other reason to join us? Join us for the food! We’ll be featuring amazing restaurants like the Sushi-Max and Naganoodle with beverages from Hummingbird Harvest and even teasing the Midnight Pearl’s upcoming brewery.

Beach Ball!  Beach Ball requires at least six people to play. The six members will form into groups of three (or split evenly regardless of higher number). One person in each group will roll. The person with the highest roll means their character’s group will go first. Standing on opposite sides of one another, the starting group will toss the ball into the air (the person who rolled for initiative starts). This game has an assortment of simple, Grindstone-style rules that will be gone over when the game begins!

Hot Lips! Test your mettle against some of the hottest peppers known to Eorzea! The infamous  “Azeyma’s Pepper,” is placed into a chocolate that looks identical to its non-spiced brethren. Whoever eats a hellish treat is out! The rounds continue until there is only one person left without their mouth being set aflame or everyone has been defeated by the fates. This is a simple game of RNG that has an assortment of adverse affects based on the number you roll! Winners of this game will earn the bragging title, ‘The Firetongue,’ and 500,000g!

  • 0 - 100: Your character ate the chocolate pepper. They are now temporarily unconscious. RIP.
  • 101 - 200: Your character ate the chocolate pepper. Their stomach is purging itself.
  • 201 - 300: Your character ate the chocolate pepper. It’s very hard to breathe.
  • 301 - 400: Your character ate the chocolate pepper. They are tense. They may need some milk. Stat!
  • 401 - 500: Your character ate the chocolate pepper. Is it hot or is it just them? Milk please!
  • 501 - 600: Your character ate the chocolate pepper. Surprisingly, they seem well adapted!
  • 601 - 999: Your character did not eat the chocolate pepper. Congratulations, you get to do it all over again! *If you happen to roll a 666, your character bites into a chocolate with a small bomb (the creature). They breathe fire when they try to talk for two rounds. But hey, they get to continue forward!

Swimsuit Contest! Are you wearing this season’s hottest fashion? Well, put yourself forward against your peers to be judged! Contestants will be judged on creativity, aesthetic, and functionality. Each category will be rated 1-10 and the fashionista with the highest score will win the bragging title, ‘Beach Babe,’ with a 500,000g prize!

Picture Perfect! We’re going to have photographers going around this event and taking pictures of those in attendance! Want a photo keepsake? Reach out to one of our photographers to make sure you and yours have this memory captured forever! Remember to consider tipping your photographer! 

Surf’s Up! A stripped down version of our much larger event, Surf’s Up is friendly towards beginners and advanced surfers! Rent a surfboard for 5,000g and hit up our spotter, Tsustai Monsaran, for rules and some summertime surfing!

Duty Roulette: LFRP! Duty Roulette: LFRP is a randomized RP experience. If you’re someone who is shy, has difficulties with walk-up, or is just looking to build some new connections this might be the experience for you! The Flowers of Spring have returned for another promenade across the gilded and glittering streets of Ul'dah! Little Ladies and their Seneschals are invited to debut in the Little Lady’s Day Promenade! This time the spotlight is on YOU!

Each Little Lady will be given a proper debutant announcement and show case, as they descends down the stairs of the Chamber of Rule, and meets their Seneschal at the end. Once the Little Ladies have officially debuted, we will promenade from the Chamber of Rule to the Gold Court to begin the Waltz of the Flowers. Based off a well known fairy tale, The Princess & the Garden, the Promenade features an elegant cacophony of colors, flower themes, and dance games as every Little Lady and their Seneschals blossom into a beautiful bouquet. In this program sheet, you will find a copy of the fairy tale, The Princess & the Garden, information on how to become part of the promenade, and a dance sheet showing the steps and placement of the waltz. Hello everyone! Balmung’s finest & the Midnight Pearl are teaming up to host the fifth annual Charity Ball & Banquet for Little Ladies’ Day! It will be taking place Sunday, March 7th, at 5:00PM PT.

  As we start off the month of February, The Talley is teaming up with @hanidahlia​ over at Flourish to put on a extra special collaborative open stage event!  Join us upstairs for an exciting evening of performance, good company, and live entertainment on SATURDAY, February 13th at 8:00 PM EST.

  The Talley is located in the Lavender Beds, Ward 2, Plot 1 on the Balmung server (use the Dappled Stalls Aetheryte for quick access!). Performances begin approximately 30 minutes after doors open. Please leave all weapons up at the front with our security and dismiss all minions and pets before entering!

  • Distinguishing Marks: A long scar over his left eye reaching brow to cheek. Various other mappings of scars across his body. Particularly stabbings, bullet wounds, and burns.
  • Build: He’s tall, almost lanky for a normal hyur with strong shoulders that slope downward over a broad chest. His waist is tapered, his legs are long. His hands calloused. Both his weight and musculature are practically built, and his lifestyle keeps him lean like a coyote with a noticeable lack of fat to spare. If he missed a meal he’d surely feel it. He seems the type for dexterous tasks, but carries deceptive strength.

  • Past History: Lawrence has had a variety of names and sobriquets he’s gone by. He’s wandered wide and far. Significant history points can be from his growing up in Garlemald, or his crash landing in Eorzea. He’s been imprisoned in several Eorzean Gaols, and has had cellmates. He’s saved and helped commoners and utilizes allies to do that as well. He robs the rich and gives to the poor.
  • Present Hooks:  He can meet people just about anywhere and will generally be found getting up to trouble, or working his way there. Known to be an ex-convict of some caliber. Can more commonly be found out in the wilds, but on occasion hits cities and residential zones. He’s been known to pick fights with bullies, and be fairly helpful. Clever minds and observant eyes can likely piece his bounties together to determine his identity, or recognize him from some old wanted board.
  • Hiring Hooks: As an ex-convict, he’s in constant need of employment and is more than willing to work. He’s got a wide set of skills that are largely based in that of a naturalist and outdoorsman. He’s also a fine craftsman, and has been known to tend estate gardens and gravedig for local churches. He can be consulted for knowledge on the flora and fauna of the land, as well as knowledge on native beast tribes and their relations with other spoken.
  • Ally Hooks : He’s in constant need of healing and safe spaces, given his ongoing fugitive status. ‘I need healing’ would be a common phrase from him if he was an NPC. He can always use teachers or mentors to help him learn more - particularly when it comes to magic, aetherology, and demonology/voidsent. Posse members, and people who do crime for good reasons can become fast allies. Closer relationships can be talked down like family, or ex loves, etc.
  • Friction Hooks:  I always welcome friction. Not every interaction is a great one and I like to embrace these ideas on an IC level. He could certainly use some rivals, or people with conflicting mentalities to him such as bounty hunters, corrupt officials (or lawful ones), bullies, villains. People that can challenge him, his morals, his limits, etc. As long as the dynamic isn’t one sided. The goal here isn’t ultimate capture or ultimate defeat to me but rather the growth developed through antagonistic engagements.

  • Shipping: I prefer slow burn ships for anything specifically serious and won’t jump into ERP with anyone unless it makes sense story wise. Even then, FTB is a high possibility with strangers. Sorry. Additionally, Roman is poly and will be unlikely to solo-ship. 
  • Will Nots: I don’t engage in explicit self-harm/suicide/extreme depression storylines or scenes of sexual violence/abuse. Vague references or allusions I’ll deal with, but prefer any explicit detail 1000 miles awaaaaaaaaay. 
  • Boundaries: I like making friends and highly value platonic relationships IC and OOC. That said, I am skittish and will cut engagements if I feel discomforted by something. This includes the pushing of character boundaries I’ve established as not possible without my consent. Please, if I have discussed something as a lacking possibility, do not keep suggesting it. 
  • Communication. This is big for me. I will speak up if uncomfortable, and encourage the same! This is a definite requirement if we’re doing deeper plotlines. I don’t need to be talked to every day, just let me know if something’s up so I can adjust. We’re all here to have fun! 
  • Health & Scheduling: I have a pretty shit schedule being an essential worker and all, on top of being PST. 44 hours a week without a phone, no less.  Mon-Thur I’m basically non-existent until the weekends and these will be the days I am not as talkative/active. Coupling that with chronic pain and mental health that is also affected by my job, some days I am just not capable of being around. I try to be up front about this. I don’t always have the energy. If I’ve dropped off, there’s a high chance my health took a serious dive and I just can’t bring myself to be about. All I ask is patience. Move on if you need to, but don’t be a jerk!
