Gen fics (from a variety of fandoms) that I desperately need and don't want to write myself but might eventually

  • The Mentalist - a Charlotte lives AU and gets to interact with Lisbon. A post-canon one shot where Lisbon dreams of Charlotte and how she'd fit into their life
  • Criminal Minds - JJ centric comfort fic about her childhood and time in Afghanistan. A fic where Emily adopts a kid. Jack coming back in the college to see the BAU. Rossi being Dad to the team
  • Bones - Booth and Brennan comforting Sweets during a hard time. Brennan and Parker bonding
  • The Blacklist - Agnes and Ressler bonding
  • One Chicago - ladies night out!
  • Chicago Fire - Sylvie bonding with the Darden boys. Stellaride and Kylie moments
  • House MD - Chase character study. Chase and Thirteen being chaotic siblings
  • White Collar - Neal and Elizabeth (and maybe Sara and El too)

If anyone wants to hear me ramble about these ideas more, let me know

A Brettsey Royalty AU

Summary: On the eve of her 21st birthday, Princess Sylvie reflects on the first time she met her true love six years ago and the events that led her to standing alone in the silent ballroom instead of being at the Kingdom festival with her family and the love of her life. Little does she know that sometimes the universe can be just as kind as it can be cruel. Notes: A non-linear storytelling from Sylvie's POV about the man she loves Tags: royalty AU, childhood friends, love letters, poetry, very sappy, emotional roller coaster, lots of tears, Princess Bride quotes, and many feelings Read on Ao3! Excerpt below

Sylvie ran her hand along the wooden banister of the grand staircase, gazing across the empty ballroom. She relished in the calm silence knowing that tomorrow the room would be electrified with music, laughter, and dancing during the annual ball which just happened to fall on her twenty-first birthday this year. The ball was always a joyous occasion for the kingdom, and it used to be for her too.

Growing up as a child of the royal family wasn’t always glitz and glam with so many rules, duties, and social pressures, but the ball was certainly an exception. While most children had to wait until their fifteenth year for their invitation to be presented to the kingdom at the ball, Sylvie and her cousins were welcomed into the festivities from a much younger age. Though her first official ball was when she was eleven, her older cousins Kelly and Shay had been sneaking her into the balls since she was seven. She wouldn’t last long before her parents would spot them, her dad would treat her to a single dance, before her mother escorted her back to her room for bedtime.

She couldn’t wait until she was finally granted attendance, to experience the full magic of the ball. And she wasn’t disappointed in the slightest when just a few years later she stood with her parents in a new, beautiful rose pink dress while watching Shay glide down the stairs during her official presentation to the kingdom as the daughter of the King and Queen. Sylvie could only dream of looking half as regal as her cousin who embodied grace and poise during her own presentation in four years time. Unfortunately, her big night didn’t turn out as well as she had wished.

to be perfectly honest. i don't care if it is cheesy or cliched or idealistic. i like stories where the core of it is about kindness, the warmth we can offer others and the gentleness we receive in return. maybe the moral of the story IS love triumphs. it better fucking be

Hey you! Yes, you!

Would you like your creation on display in a museum?

Would you like to help a super awesome PhD candidate complete her dissertation?

Would you like a great excuse to further procrastinate that thing you've been procrastinating?

All of these and more are great reasons to participate in Affirmation/Transformation: Fandom Created, an exhibition at Marquette University's Haggerty Museum of Art. (You do NOT need to be an artist, or even someone who creates art to participate!) Write a story, write a song, design a cosplay, create a fancy manicure, make a meme, make a stop-motion video, choreograph a dance, make a SuperWhoLock gif fic, or anything else your heart can dream up.

Your creation must follow only one rule: It must be inspired by a fusion of 1. any fandom of your choice, and 2. one of the featured Haggerty pieces (click the link to see them!)

Completed works are due July 1, 2024. The exhibition will run August 23rd-December 22nd, 2024, and will be available to view in person and online.

really love dynamics that are like 'it honestly doesn't matter if you view them as romantic or platonic, the point is that they love each other. the type of love is inconsequential, all that matters is that it's there'. gotta be one of my favorite genders.
