I so badly want to ask this question at a party or something where I can set parameters and ask follow up questions gfdgsd people saying "I just can't see myself doing it" I genuinely want to know why. There are no material consequences, there could be temporary benefits, so what would hold you back?

He didn't let Charles be alone. He sat by him, made him laugh, and kept those final moments, even painful, good.

Ok but this gets me! Bc this is a guy who knows that he is not good with people, who is kind of a bitch a lot of the time (love him for that), and has only very recently escaped a situation traumatic enough that he’d be well within his rights to just like, crawl into a hole and have a nap for the next hundred years!

But he sees this person he doesn’t know who is in pain, and he sits him down and helps him warm up even though he already knows it’s too late, and he talks to him and he reads him books and he stays there with him the entire time!

And it really makes me think about that thing about the difference between being nice and being kind, bc Edwin may not be a nice person but he is so, so, unfailingly kind, and that just makes me absjdkdjcjcbdbdkjd

#and also the fact that he then starts helping other ghosts with Charles#like sure part of him wants to make it so he doesn’t get sent back to hell#but the fact that he’s ashamed that that’s part of his reason for doing what he does says a lot!#and I just. agghhhhh.
