you know what? fuck you. i won’t chill. i won’t chill because i have to deal with homophobic jokes every single day of my life. i won’t chill because i have to see my family badmouthing lgb+ people and speculate that non-straight people are non-straight because of brain damage of some kind without realizing that the company that is present isn’t straight either. i won’t because every day of my life i’m scared that the wrong person will find out that i’m bi and will hurt me. i won’t because i, as a queer person, have no rights to marry, adopt children or have no legal basis on which i could defend myself from homophobes. i won’t because every single joke made at the expense of lgbt+ community is another stab among thousands of daily stabs that we have to struggle through. and i especially won’t chill when those kinds of jokes are made at a ceremony meant to celebrate our presence in a deeply homophobic media and when those jokes are uttered by a person who is supposed to know better and who plays an important bisexual character that many people can clutch onto when they feel like they can’t deal with it all anymore. go fuck yourself and don’t ever tell me to chill.
