Welcome to af-answers! Before you delve in, here are our few and vague rules...

DISCLAIMER: The Mod has ultimate veto power. If a question is too personal or crass or ooc, etc., the Mod can choose not to answer (though she may answer privately).

1. All asks must be submitted in the form of a question. 2. No questions should involve: *Sex/sexuality *Politics *Religion ***** Again, if you forget and ask a question like this, the mod may choose to answer. 3. This is a PG (ish) blog.

EDIT: Regarding extra Disney material: I am not going to be buying/referencing any of the Disney extra material, as it isn’t written by Colfer. So please don’t ask questions about it. :)

EDIT: How I answer asks: if the question addresses 1-3 people, there will be an illustration. If it addresses 3+ characters, it will be a text post with no illustration. This changes depending on inspiration.

Here’s how to send an ask:

First, go to the main blog page.

Then click on the “Send Your Inquiries” (middle) option

After that, type in your ask and press Ask!

As the Mod, I try to keep things here relatively close to canon, even if the characters are put in un-canon situations (like going to Hogwarts). So there won’t be any shipping or gender/sexual/political/religious identity that conflicts with the books (or might otherwise be a red-button topic). My goal is to enrich the source material and create an enjoyable experience for fans.

And I’m sorry in advance if the characters are rude. The characters usually don’t reflect the opinions of the Moderator. :D

Have fun, and thank you for your questions!

Hello!

I was wondering if any of y or have seen the stranger things season 4, and your general thoughts in it.

Avatar

Juliet: I dropped off after season 2, but then came back for Eddie Munson after seeing posts about him online, only to have my heart broken </3.

Foaly: I'm an avid fan of the show (I watched it with my nephew), and also had my heart broken by Eddie </3. But he was the best part of the season, tbh.

Butler: Artemis has never seen it because *pulls out recording device*

Artemis (recorded): "I cannot comprehend seeing any Stranger Things than I have in my own lifetime, and on the slight chance the show can deliver on that promise, I don't want to."

Mod: Awww, thank you so much @hollyfowl. I'm sorry it's taken so long to get to your question.

Beckett: I LOVE the Spiderverse movies!!

Myles: Yes, I enjoy them as well, though the idea that the multiverse is hung on the existence of spider-people stretches belief.

Beckett: But the end of the last movie had us (「 ⊙Д⊙)「

Myles: I saw the twist coming from a mile away! From outside the theatre!

Beckett: Liar! You were also (「 ⊙Д⊙)「

Mod: I LOVE the Spiderverse movies, and CANNOT WAIT for the conclusion. The films demand that animation and superhero movies be acknowledged as art forms, and I love that.

To Artemis: what kind of things would you find while exploring the Fowl Manor attic?

Artemis: Probably something rat-infested or disease-ridden. My mother excavated the attic when she moved into the manor, and even she didn't find anything of value, just old rugs, outdated decor, and Christmas decorations. Apparently a Fowl trait is knowing the potential value of a thing, even if it isn't valuable at the time, and accordingly hide it in a vault in Switzerland.

Greetings All! If you were a Haikyu character who would you be? P.S. Mod, this blog is awesome! I feel like you know the characters so well and don't distort them at all. Keep up the good work. I really enjoy it :)

Juliet: I've seen Haikyuu, but has anyone else?

Myles: It's pronounced "haiku".

Juliet: That's a no, then. Well, here's my list: Artemis would be Tobio, Holly is Yuu, Beckett is Shoyo and Myles is Kei. Dom is Daichi, Minerva is probably Kuroo, Foaly is Haiba, Lazuli would be Fukunaga, I guess, and to be honest, I'm most like Saeko Tanaka. Mulch? I have no friggin idea.

Mod: Thanks so much for the kind comment!

What’s the best jokes each one of you had said? (How bad were they Artemis?)

Avatar

Mod: As for their “best jokes…”

Artemis: How many theoretical physicists does it take to screw in a light bulb? Two. One to hold the bulb and one to rotate the universe.

Holly: Someone asked me to lend them $5 yesterday. “Sorry,” I said, “I’m a little short.” (Get it? It works on so many levels!) Now you tell one, Butler!

Butler: I don’t tell jokes.

Mulch: Yeah, me neither, big guy. My humor is flatulence and sarcasm centered.

Foaly: I tell the best jokes, but no one ever gets them. Like this one: “A neutrino walks through a bar.”

Holly: How would a gun walk anywhere?

Artemis and Myles: I get it.

Beckett: Oo! I have one I have one! What do you call a fly with no wings?

All: ……….

Beckett: A walk!

All groan, except Mulch, who laughs maniacally

Avatar

Mod: Who hasn't told their favorite joke yet?

Minerva: I haven't.

No. 1: Me neither! But you go first, Minnie!

Minerva: .... to be honest, mon ami, my best joke is still the quark one.

Artemis: *chuckles* It gets me every time.

No.1: Oh! Well, then I'll tell mine? Ehem... What kind of dinosaur writes romance novels?

Myles: That's obvious. None. Dinosaurs could not write.

Beckett: T-Rexes might have had the same mating rituals as crocodiles!

Minerva: Nevermind them, what's the answer, Numéro un?

No.1: Right! It's the Brontësaurus.

Beckett: Good one! Now Lazuli, you tell one.

Lazuli: No, I'm not that funny.

Beckett: Come on!

Myles: Don't encourage her to embarrass herself, Beck.

Lazuli: .... Myles' love life.

Artemis: *spits out tea*

Hey Juliet! Do you like BTS? And if you do, do you have a bias?

Juliet: I do like BTS! Though I was a much bigger fan a few years ago. I think I still have some of my bias memorabilia...

Avatar

Artemis, have you heard back from anyone at Hogwarts?

@Mod : I just read your Artemis fowl/ Harry Potter crossover so...

Avatar

Artemis: As that universe is separate from my own, I have received no communications. And as I find it somewhat irresponsible to dabble in dimension jumping again, especially now that everyone is doing it, I'll focus on matters concerning this dimension.

Artemis: Someone has, in fact, asked this question before. On sunny days, though, I fancy a turn in my solar-powered biplane.

Hello Artemis! Do you have a skincare routine?

Artemis: While I don't mind wrinkles, a pimple is a sure way to undermine one's gravitas. So yes, I have a skincare routine. Facial rinse and sunscreen moisturizer in the morning, a mask and then moisturizer again at night. All my own formulas to complement my complexion, of course.

Mod: Yeah, I made an attempt at an ARG with 0 planning lol. Do not recommend.

That said, I've deleted some of the asks that were solely directed toward the ARG. If any of you still have questions about the ARG you can put them in the replies below, but I don't know if I'll have answers to all of them.

To everyone: which is your favorite season of the year and why?

Artemis: We've already answered this question, which you can find here.

Butler: Thank you for asking, though. We've answered... many questions, it can get overwhelming.

Holly: Another great question we've answered! Twice!

Beckett: Hey, I haven't answered that question! I'd be a troll, like Whistleblower.

Myles: I'd be an orangutan.

Beckett: But you're not ginger.

Myles: But I am intelligent, and orangutan's are the smartest land mammal.

Beckett: .... but you're not ginger.

Lazuli: I'd be a dragonfly. Peaceful, quiet, takes care of pests...

Mulch: I'd be a honey badger! I don't take no $#!^!

Foaly: ... I don't feel quite comfortable with this question.

To Miles and Beckett: Have you ever had anyone give you "a present to share" because your twins and if so, what was your reaction to that?

Myles: Bizarrely, we were given a Prada jumper to share.

Beckett: We do, just not in the way they mighta meant.

Myles: I invented a self-sewing system to alter the jumper. It's become one of my most lucrative patents to date.

If he ever had the time, what would Butler be looking for in a romantic partener?

Butler: Hmmm, I've never had a type, or really any expectations when it comes to romantic partners. Someone kind, of course, and gentle energy is a plus. Someone trustworthy who I can share my concerns with, and someone selfless who won't mind the odd hours I keep with Artemis. And if they also share a fondness for romance novels and cooking, well, that's a bonus.

Oh wow!! I just want to say thank you for your great work on this blog! I read for the first time last year all the books of the saga and then I found your blog and I fell in love with it! (I spent an entire month seeing all your posts) For me all you answers are canon in the story and nobody can change my mind 🤣

Now my question is for Lazuli ( I only read the first book of the twins, because the others never arrived in my country 😭 so if the answer is spoiler for me, don't worry, it's ok) how do you feel about the twins? Do you have a favourite one? Do you feel something for one of them, or both?

Ps: I love Artemis and Holly 💜 and I know that they're just friends, but let us dream about something more 💜

Avatar

Lazuli: The twins are my favorite humans. I guess I get on better with Beckett than Myles, but Myles is more dependable in a pinch. Both of them are like the little brothers I never had, and I'm indebted to them for so much.

Though the trouble they get me into, I'll soon have repaid that debt.

Lazuli: I was put in a pocket sub-dimension for a bit because I was lowest on the popularity poll. No one could remember me while I was there, but I'm out now and I'm... fine? I don't remember what happened in there.

For Tim : how did you feel when you found out artemis was dead , and how did you find that out?

Artemis Sr.: I found out with Angeline, thankfully. We were in London at the time, for an ecological conference. Myles called us, but Beckett told us the news. It's one thing to learn about the death of a son-- again-- and quite another to hear it from another, hysterical son. Angeline didn't leave bed for two weeks after the funeral, but she was focused on healing the whole time. Grieving, and healing. She didn't want to leave the twins the way she left-- well. I took care of the twins during that time, especially since Juliet had her hands full with her brother and their grieving. As to how I felt, how could any father feel anything but devastated? However, it was a comfort to mourn him with so many other people. Only a few years before, Artemis had survived a fairy encounter as a villain without a friend in the world. He died a hero, with friends willing to break the laws of nature to get him back. So in that sense, I suppose, I felt proud.

I think that Artemis II and Butler will find a lot of cool rocks on mars :)

Artemis: Yes, many "cool rocks." Alloys and minerals, exotic elements left behind by asteroids-- yes, many years of scientific discoveries to uncover here.

Butler: To uncover on Earth. On Earth, right, Artemis

Artemis: *waves him off distractedly*

Butler: Off the top of my head? Trees, natural sunlight, rivers, porcelain teapots, Juliet, gravity....

Artemis: Open flames. Oh, and my brothers. Holly too, of course, though she calls so often it's hard to miss her.

Butler: Tell her that, I'm sure the calls will stop.

Artemis: .... No.

Mod: Hey, so, it's been a while. Not really sure how to address this, so TL;DR: I bit off more than I could chew with that last project I took on. Tbh, I didn't plan on doing an ARG, it just kind of... happened... but you can't wing an ARG, and I'm sorry I thought I could. I thought if I thought about it long enough I would figure out the perfect way to end it, but the longer I thought, the more overwhelmed I became. In the end, the priority of this blog is not my ego, but answering your questions. I'm sorry I lost sight of that. Making things more complicated than they need to be is a theme with me.

So, what is the future of this blog going forward?

I'm going to answer the rest of the asks, and then I think it's time to retire af-answers. That won't mean the end of AF content from me: I'm hoping to revive the @otomefowl project once this is done.

I'll talk more about all this closer to time, but on the plus side, there's a good few months of material left! We'll all have time to prepare. Thank you all for your patience and support. I'm sorry for the wait. Here's to a fitting end.

Artemis, what is your favourite classical piece for the violin to play or listen to? (sonatas, concertos, partitas etc) I am particularly fond of Dvorak’s Violin Concerto in A minor.

Artemis: I find Ina Boyle's Violin Concerto to be a superior piece, both for plotting and brooding. Though Dvořák is admirable as well, there is a certain nostalgia to Boyle's work for me.

Mod: I guess this is what the, uh, absence of his mother did to Artemis.
