The Harana, a personal burlesque experience preserving a dying language of love songs from the Philippines. This narrative series will explore the female perspective of serenade and romance. Grandmafun, a native of Cagayan De Oro remembers hearing stories of song and conduct from her mother and grandmother. The inspiration came from listening to love songs from Buena Vista Social Club and the documentary Harana on a lovely spring night. She was quick to remember her time spent in her small town, singing songs and listening to records with her grandfather, and the lush green landscape. This is about home, preservation, history, and love.
