writing fanfiction is just. i’m being so creative and original. i’m plagiarizing everyone by accident. i’m a genius. i’m cringe. i’m too angsty. i’m too cheesy. this is not in character. it doesn’t matter that it’s not in character because these are my characters now. i love my hobby. this is the worst possible use of my time. i’m seeking validation. i’m projecting my own personal problems onto this story and i’m barely hiding it. i know so many words and i’m using all of them wrong. im on tumblr posting about it instead of writing it.

At first, it’s anger.
At the invasiveness, the intrusion, the fact that he trusted her with everything but she would knowingly barge into his space and disrespect his boundaries without any qualms about how he would feel.
He stands in front of his desk, staring at the box he’s pulled out from under it, somewhat fuming at the idea of someone having gone through something that’s clearly meant to be personal.
Then, understanding.
i posted all my rayem drabbles from here to ao3 in a collection, everything i write for them (that isnt a standalone fic) will go there from now on!

There’s a difference between being busy and being avoidant. Emma knows that.
In her head she knows that. In her head, and she’s still a full score kid, thank you very much. She knows that Ray isn’t avoiding her, just that he’s busy with one of all the many things they have to do. They’re fighting for liberation. She can’t expect him to spend every moment of his free time with her.
She has other things to do as well.
In her head, she knows all of that.

What else could he do? He’d never been in this kind of situation before in his life. Fuck that, he’d never even considered it.
Emma was refusing to meet his eyes, wasn’t even facing him. She stood at the window, staring down at the hustle and bustle of Norman’s shelter with a bright smile on her face that didn’t come anywhere close to her eyes and even in the faint light from a single lamp hanging on the wall next to them, he could see the wetness she was trying so hard to keep from sliding down her face.
