Wha???? WHA-how??? *shook, incomprehensible gibberish* 😱😭💙✨🙏🏼

Besides a big fat obvious THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the nominations (*still shook* 😳😭) all I can think to say is that I know I’ve been MIA for quite a while from this fandom. I overwhelmed myself mentally, and couple that with my ongoing struggle with high blood pressure and me and my family getting sick A LOT this year, I found myself slinking back into the safe shadow of lurkdom. 😅🥺😩

Real talk/just kinda venting into the void, I do want to create more. I just can’t seem to pick up the pen. 😔 I charge my ipad and ipencil every couple of weeks after reading a fic or seeing some amazing art that momentarily inspired me, but it was just for a moment. It’s fleeting and I’m so disappointed in myself over it. It makes me sad.

There’s also just regular life things too. I’m still a stay-at-home mom trying to double as a teacher. I feel guilty really doing anything for myself when he’s in my care even when he’s sufficiently self occupied (outside of a nap lol, I’m weeeak 😅😩) but once he’s asleep for the night, a lot of the time I’ve found myself either gaming with friends, gaming by myself, or curling up in bed to read a webcomic or a fanfic. All valid ways of self care but I do recognize that in my case it is also a bit of a coping mechanism via escape. 😮‍💨

I know I’m rambling. Again, this isn’t directed at anyone in particular. If you’re even still reading this, I thank you for your time. 😣

I think, what I’m really trying to say is, even though I’m a hot mess and am not convinced I deserve these nominations given the fact I’ve been so absent this year, I am grateful. I’m really happy that my art was liked enough to be considered. 🥺

Here’s looking at 2022. May my overall health be better, and may I find the resolve to do what I want and enjoy without myself getting in the way. 🤞🏼

For those who haven’t read articles about it, the local shrine elevated her to a god. She’s now the Eternal Stationmaster and patron god of the station.

OG Sesshoumaru is like... an icon. He's masculine and androgynous and as a character he's so flexible with how you want to portray his sexuality. Sesshoumaru be a special character for people, I think because a lot of us LGBTQ peeps were figuring ourselves out when we watched the show. And here's this pretty guy who is confident with being pretty, one armed and lethal.

I feel like the big bulky sweater (that I wear constantly now) also accurately represents the weight I have gained on top of the sleep I have lost. Not just quarantine, but life in general has not been kind in the last 16 months.

Haaah, this little experiment allowed me to understand how much things have changed. You guys don’t have to read this, I just need to let my thoughts out.

Before quarantine, I was on a journey of self discovery. I was going out more, which was horrifying because I’m a huge homebody. I started talking to more people and offsetting my social anxiety. I had gotten my hair dyed red, I was out and about, I was wearing makeup ~! It was really wonderful.

When quarantine happened, I had to revert back to my toxic homebody ways. I had to deal with myself more, and while I was proud of how far I had come, I was still very hard on myself. I was looking for work and constantly rejected, adding to my depression. I was also surrounded by toxic people, which made me very bitter and overly dependent on friends, thrusting my own toxicity onto them.

And when I got COVID, I was honestly very... done. I ended up having to be hospitalized and put on a ventilator — the entire experience was very lonely.

I’m still here, still fighting as best I can, because of the love and support I had received. I have amazing new people in my life ( @imatalossforwords @quirky-and-kind )and some who have stuck around ( @jafndaegur @galaxystarrr @truth-be-told-im-lying @libralita )to name a few. They support and love me, and because I’ve been surrounding myself with that positivity and light, I’ve been able to build myself up again.

...on with ze rant / explanation...

Pre-quarantine I had just finished tumbling out of a horrible fallout in my friend group, I had begun doubting my 6-year long relationship with my s/o, I had started to feel trapped (again) in my own home, and my job was piling so heavily on to me the only thing I could really do was work. But that's how I cope too when things get shitty for me. I pile on as much of my job and personal projects as I can until I literally can no longer think.

I was super unhappy and super tired all the time.

Now though...I've been able to emotionally move on from the fallout in my friend group. It still hurts a lot and I find myself thinking of them often, but I know what happened was for the best of all of us. My s/o and I parted ways, and even though it hurt initially—for the past year and a half, I had been so emotionally and mentally exhausted, I was more than ready for the closure. Finally...I'm not piling things on as much anymore—I know that makes me a shitty worker (sorry to you guys on the big bangs, I know I have some chores left that I have to finish *cough* masterlists *cough*)—but I've promised myself to leave more time for me. I've even given myself more slack at my normal job. Lastly, and most recently, I will be moving from home at the end of summer...I'm terribly horrified of this step, but it's necessary for me to keep growing.

I've been taking better care of myself, letting myself or maybe even forcing myself to be more human over the stretch of quarantine. So I'm still tired and maybe to an extent still unhappy...but now I feel fulfilled too, and I feel like I can finally move on.

Finally take a step forward in some sort of direction.

However, I do want to tell you Jaf that I can imagine how the change and growth you went through during this panorama was a journey and a half.
